What's new

Australia beat New Zealand by 68 runs in the 1st ODI

I bet Smith and Warner are looking forward to Sohail bowling 130K and Imran chugging in at 122K!

We have to persist with him, I don't care if he goes for runs.

Unearthed a real gem with him.

Sustained pace :akhtar

This Ferguson guy is the real deal, better than all our so called talented bunch combined.

Bailey and Smith batting together... it doesn't get uglier than that when it comes to batting.

I do not care if he's getting hit.

Pace is pace, if developed, he could be a huge asset for NZ.

Imagine an attack of Boult, Henry, Ferguson and Milne

Yes , he has to be used for wickets , short bursts

Ferguson off after a great first spell, he was sharp throughout.

I'm getting jealous of NZ's pacers talent pool.:yk2

Oceania is having all the express pacers now (barring Rabada). New Zealand's (and Australia's) problem has always been maintaining their express pacers injury free in the longer format. Milne looked very promising but has hardly been able to play a test and so is Cummins. But it would be fantastic if they are able to sustain it in tests.

Imagine a full attack of Starc/Cummins/Hazelwood/Pattinson vs Boult/Henry/Ferguson/Milne :srini

Ferguson's second ever over in international cricket.

Cummins's ODI bowling stats is inferior to domestic List A stats!

Ha ha ha.

I'm loving it - hope that Warner, Smith and Wade get stuck playing ODI shots when they have a Test in 11 days time v Pakistan!

And if Hazlewood or Starc get injured, or even overworked.......

One could argue that their batsmen are in poor nick and the ODIs might get them going. Facing an attack of 150 k pacers will only do good to their preparation.

But yeah, their pacers are a bit fragile and they would be hoping they don't pick any injury in this tourney.

Well bowled Ferguson. This is what you need in Australia an express pace fast bowler or someone who can swing at deceptive pace. Sohail and Imran type trundlers would be smashed. Amir has to step up since he's the only fast bowler capable of winning matches he just need to find his form.

Neesham is not a good bowler averages - 36 and defiantly not a good batsman averages - 20 maybe if you those numbers were inverse he'd be a good all-rounder.

Don't get why he is playing, horrible bowler and horrible batsman. Just got lucky with this wicket too.

If there is another World XI match, I don't care about quality.. I want to see a bowling attack of Rabada, Starc, Ferguson, Milne and Cummins.

The batsmen will have zero time to settle down :danish

You seem to be another one of those statistics obsessed posters.

Yes, those numbers aren't great but you've got to take into consideration the amount of injuries he's had and the time span between the games he plays.

Bring on Ferguson, I want to see him bowling to the tail..

Looks like Mitch is one of those sinners whom you can't even drag to haven!!!!

I would chuck in Varun Aaron or Wahab in place of Rabada if this world XI bowling attack is going to consist of the fastest bowlers in world cricket.

How this boy with <35 average in all 3 domestic formats represent AUS in ODI?

Wanna see Milne and ferguson bowling in tandem. Should be the fastest duo in cricket right now.
They'll try to probably outdo the other too.

Milne has some competition in the team now :)

Neesham was one of the few positives for New Zealand in their tour of India.

What competition? He should walk in ahead of that trundler grandhomme. Your ODI bowling attack should be

Lockie
Milne
Boult
McClenaghan/Southee/Santner/Henry(depending on conditions)

Maxwell has been dropped for "disrespectful" comments.

That's in playing XI - how Head makes the squad of 15? I hope, he doesn't troll me with a 75, but he is below average even in Shield standard. Watched a little in SRL as well.
