What's new

Australia beat New Zealand by 68 runs in the 1st ODI

This is truly horrible bowling.

No clue why they have bowled short throughout the Australian innings, there is no pace or bounce in this wicket.

Starting to have doubts about Kane's captaincy in the short format too.

LMAO Wade is doing this :)))

Far too many freebies given.

Get it full for god sakes.

How do people watch this garbage?

I made the mistake of spending thousands of dollars watching 4 matches at the last World Cup.

By the end I learned that Team 1 scores 210-4 at 40 overs then finishes on somewhere between 300 and 340 in 50 overs.

So what happened today?

Surprise surprise, after 40 overs Australia was 210-4.

Surprise surprise, Trent Boult is now bowling the 44th over with no slip fielders in place, because batsmen can have a swipe at balls delivered where they went them with zero chance of any lateral deviation.

Such a predictable, boring non-spectacle. This isn't sport, it's just bad wallpaper.

Different taste boss - today, Kiwis balanced their usual brilliant fielding & bowling discipline, otherwise Aussies would have struggled to post 250. In an innings, if one player scores 60% & 3 times than the 2nd highest, it's not like another common match. However yes, on AUS wickets, if you bring the boundary 10 metres in (actually 15, Viv had to sent it to crowd for a six, direct hit to fence was 4), it's difficult to control scoring.

Going to be chasing 350 at this rate.

Disgusting performance.

Length and short balls at the death.

This is going to be a big defeat.

Thank god we have a return series later on to retain the Chapelle-Hadlee.

Of course Smith is dropped again :)))

Smith starting life number 4 at 152.

All 3 off Boult.

No, it really, really is not.

The pitch has no grass on it, no lateral movement whatsoever. It's just slogging practice.

Why are you torturing yourself Junaids, turn off the TV and go for a walk or read a book. Its poor form to complain about something that you have no interest in. I don't like watching darts but I don't go around complaining about it, I just don't watch it.

I should make a thread on Boult's hypothetical bowling average :amir

Aussie Commies so badly want Smith to beat AB's record!

AB's innings was much more entertaining though!

Australia 300/5 (47.0 ov)
Steven Smith (rhb) 162* (155)
Matthew Wade (lhb) 29* (14)

Great innings from Smith, but still rate the one AB played much better!

Probably because I'm a Huge AB FAN!

As I'm typing Smith :out

Finally one caught - it's good for Kiwis that they have cleaned all their dirt in one match. I expect them to be at their usual high standard (in fielding, their batting is poor) in next matches.

What an innings from Steve Smith, brilliance at its best. By far the best ODI innings played at the SCG by a true champion.

The one time I actually need to watch a JAMODI and my patchy internet can't let me watch what seemed like a pretty epic innings, and now it is working....

My god... I don''t think I've seen a fielding performance worse than this since Pakistan against India in the WC SF in 2011.

You know what, this is probably worse..

Great innings indeed, but I am sure you haven't seen Border's 127* against 1986's WI.............

My God how are we gonna win this ODI series lmao...

Even 1 win despite a series defeat will seem alright.

Australia 309/6 (48.2 ov)
Matthew Wade (lhb) 36 (19)
Pat Cummins (rhb) 0 (1)

NZ played subcontinent teams a bit too much recently. Now they are fielding like one.

So basically what Junaids is saying is that the game is fixed because NZ aren't winning :))

Won't say that harshly; but I have noticed, last 5 or 6 ODI Series in IND has been decided on last match, keeping the series alive till last ODI - only exception was probably the pathetic SRL Series.

ODI by nature is the best format for "spot" fixing; but I think, this one is a genuine great knock by Smith - you can't "plot" such knocks.

twitter fiend Jimmy Neesham, think he will be important for this chase.

Smith shouldn't have sent Cummins to bat, before bowling - he might get injured & Aussies will be one bowler short !!!!!

Will might miss the 3rd game - 230 minutes & still 2 balls to go.

nah i think he's always looked like that.

now that i think of it he looks a lot like dave franco.

I always thought he looked like Dave Franco but he was never this buff which is why he looks more manly now too

If youre an 8 year old kid or a fat brainwashed American who is into slapstick humour then yes. Yes it is.
Check out NJPW, it's much better than the WWE.

Also, cricket is boring or irrelevant to at least 75% of the world.

The Avengers grossed higher at the box office than The Dark Knight. But was it even half as good?

Yeah man, it is. As I am growing older I am questioning myself why I am I even watching this? :asif

Expecting us to be 40/3 after 10 and all out for 218 after 40.

The point is most of the planet perceives cricket to be a boring English sport.

Heck Family guy ripped on it in one of their older episodes.

Pretty sure it was chanceless too?

At least two dropped catches and at least two free hits, AB played a good innings but lets not rewrite history to make it better than it actually was.

And that beats 2 dropped catches, a lbw, several chop ons and half a dozen free hits?

40/3 looking a good shout, may have given too much credit to our batting.

Could be 30/3.

Latham's got to be a clone of Jimmy Anderson, dudes look like they must be long lost brothers.
