Philander plays the pull shot so well
Are RSA going to carry on forever or what?
How much more they need?
Aussie commis are desperate, trying to justify why SAF shouldn't declare now? Why should they - 167 overs of the match left & there is no rain threat. They should bat another 25-30 overs; get the target close to 550, taking the chase to a hopeless situation & then go for all out attack. A target of 450 in 160 overs will only make then nervous if there is a big partnership. Either way, Aussies are not going to survive 140 overs; but they can score 450 against depleted attack.
If possible, keep batting till 1st hour drinks after lunch.
De Kock is the new Gilchrist. Dare I say he will go down as an even better player...
If the pitch stays as is it will be a draw or epic chase for Aus.
Philander why are you pulling? This isn't how you bat in Australia. You need to drive it down the ground.![]()
My agent Philander doing well. Knew this guy would come good. Seriously dedicated, and an underrated allrounder.
All aboard the Philander bandwagon for the naysayersd

Starc has been shown to be very ordinary by the Proteas. They have not been intimidated by him at all. They have prepared for his full pitched yorkers, his bouncers and made him bowl longer and longer spells.
The pitch has nothing for the bowlers it seems......the chase is going to be fancy
Why would they be intimidated? They face Rabada, Steyn, Morkel everyday.
Are you South African?
Bro, you start claiming to have rated every player that does well.
He's rightly rated by Australians. That's all that matters. While he's obviously made great strides, he's far from a complete test bowler.Do you think starc is overrated in Test cricket? I think he is. I rate him extremely highly in ODIs and he will probably go down as ATG in the format but I don't think he is nearly as great in Tests. His fuller in swinging deliveries are not as difficult to keep out by competent batsmen as people think they are. Still a very good Test bowler
Ironic? How so? I can actually show my posts regarding players I rate or predictions I make. That's kinda ironic coming from yourself lol, but given my history is understandable.
But no sarcastic backing for my boy Philly, genuine backing from my part.
But I have always rated Philly, on the day 1 commentary thread people thought he'd get thrashed because he wasn't "tall enough" or "fast enough" yet here he is.
Been a fan since 2011.

South Africa hell of a team outside SC. Now a days Aus is being trapped by their own flat track. No green top is making them vulnerable in their own backyard. Saw that in india series too.Hope to see green mamba again in Aus.
no..
So many young superbatters are disappointing me!
Ghar ka Kohli in England.
Root in Bangladesh.
KW in India.
Now Smith got out exactly when team needed him to hold on.
SA would have had this in bag, had it not been for the untimely injury to Steyn, but now it is most likely going to be a draw.
Also, this is where someone like Kallis was a complete luxury and I'm sure, SA would have loved his services in this match.
likely a draw? one more wicket and they are genuinely into the aussie tail.
Their wk batsman is still to come.
If both Usman and Marsh see off the initial burst from Rabada and Philander, then there is no way SA are going to run through them.
Also, both Starc and Siddle can bat, plus Siddle actually has a FC century and Starc has hit some fifties.
South Africa will have to play their poorest brand of cricket in this test for Australia to avoid defeat. Forecasting a draw would not be based on logic, but gut feel.
Green track in Perth? Lol. It would last half a day. The challenge here is bounce which is of course not alien to the Saffers. They're right at home.
How are they going to win, if they only have two bowlers?
So what country? How come you're such a big fan of sour Africa?
Pretty much the same way they've taken wickets so far.
