Virat Kohli should try his luck with CSK. They may change his fortunes.

RCB is/was never good at identifying young talents and grooming them!

Maxwell cannot survive against quality spinners if he goes all guns blazing (at least outside Chinnaswamy)

First of all RCB is under a threat of not posting a formidable score here (even 150). Dinesh Karthik is such a negative energy and influence on the side!

RCB 126/9 (20) CRR: 6.3

Not that great - must be one of the lowest totals of this season

Some needle between VK and GG?

RCB 126/9 (20)

LSG 108 (19.5)

Royal Challengers Bangalore won by 18 runs

PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Faf du Plessis

==

Aided by KL Rahul's injury early in the match, Royal Challengers Bangalore did just enough to eke out an 18-run win over Lucknow Super Giants in a low-scoring Indian Premier League game at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Monday. LSG skipper Rahul pulled his right thigh muscle in the second over of RCB innings while trying to stop a boundary and came out to bat only towards the end, which acted in favour of the visitors. LSG dished out a fine bowling display to restrict RCB to a below-par 126 after being asked to bowl first.

RCB never had momentum in their innings despite the opening pair of skipper Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli sharing a 62-run partnership.

The spin duo of Ravi Bishnoi (2/21) and veteran Amit Mishra (2/21) shone bright with the ball in the middle overs to keep a check on RCB's scoring rate.

Later, it turned out to be a nightmarish start for LSG while chasing a modest 127-run target, as they lost their first three wickets for just 21 runs in 4.1 overs.

In Rahul's absence, Kyle Mayers and Ayush Badoni opened the innings but failed to live up to the expectations.

While Mayers departed in the second delivery of the innings without troubling the scorers, stand-in captain Krunal Pandya played an 11-ball 14-run knock before being caught by Virat Kohli at long-off off Glenn Maxwell.

Badoni followed suit in the next over while going for big shot, caught by Kohli off Josh Hazlewood (2/15).

If that was not enough, Deepak Hooda was stumped by Dinesh Karthik off Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva, as LSG slumped to 27 for four in 5.1 overs.

Leg-spinner Karn Sharma (2/20) then accounted for Nicholas Pooran (9) and Marcus Stoinis (13) in a span of four overs to make matters worse for LSG.

The asking rate was under control, but LSG kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

Krishnappa Gowtham was the next to depart, run out after a 13-ball 23.

Ravi Bishnoi then ran himself out as LSG collapsed to 77 for eight in 14.4 overs.

Naveen-ul-Haq and Amit Mishra tried their best with a gutsy 26-run stand for the ninth wicket.

An injured Rahul came out to bat last with LSG needing 24 off eight balls, but he looked in discomfort and failed to open his account.

Earlier, Rahul failed to stop the boundary, looked in considerable pain, and limped off the field. In his absence, Pandya led the side.

The duo of du Plessis and Kohli gave RCB another good start. Both the openers failed to get going but gave a platform for the rest of the batters to take RCB to a decent score.

Kohli didn't look at his best as he managed just three boundaries during his 30-ball 31-run knock before being stumped by Pooran off the bowling of Bishnoi.

New man in Anuj Rawat didn't last long as he gave a catch to Mayers in the deep off the bowling of Gowtham.

Dangerman Glenn Maxwell followed suit, without troubling the scorers much, LBW to Bishnoi.

After the initial partnership between du Plessis and Kohli, the LSG bowlers pulled back the game brilliantly.

Suyash Prabhudesai didn't last long, caught by Gowtham at mid-off off the bowling of veteran Mishra, as RCB slumped to 90 for four in 14.3 overs.

The match came to halt in the 16th over due to a steady drizzle.

After a delay of nearly 26 minutes due to rain, the match restarted with no overs being reduced.

While du Plessis batted deep he never got the desired momentum in his knock and struggled to find boundaries and sixes. He was eventually dismissed by Mishra in the 17th over, caught by Pandya as the South African tried to break the shackles.

Thereafter, Dinesh Karthik (16 off 11) tried his best to up the ante but it wasn't enough.

Towards the end, Afghan fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq picked up two wickets in two deliveries in the 20th overs, to finish with figures of 3 for 30.

Kohli now 24(25) :))

Pakistani posters complain about Babar Azam and Rizwan, but Kohli is a complete beast when it comes to playing slow innings.
This Lucknow pitch is horrible, all are low score games.

Everyone struggling, 130 is good score.

I feel sad for KL Rahul, his injury doesn't look good. Hope he recovers fast.

Gujarat Titans vs Delhi Capitals, 44th Match

Delhi Capitals have won the toss and have opted to bat

Teams:

Delhi Capitals (Playing XI): David Warner(c), Philip Salt(w), Manish Pandey, Rilee Rossouw, Priyam Garg, Axar Patel, Ripal Patel, Aman Hakim Khan, Kuldeep Yadav, Anrich Nortje, Ishant Sharma

Gujarat Titans (Playing XI): Wriddhiman Saha(w), Abhinav Manohar, Hardik Pandya(c), Vijay Shankar, David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmad, Mohammed Shami, Mohit Sharma, Joshua Little

Rashid Khan has 543 wickets so far in T20 cricket and he is apparently only 24 years old. Looks like he plans on getting 2000 wickets by the end of his career.

Good fightback by Pandya after being reduced to 32/4 - Gujarat Titans need 50 runs in 29 balls - good chance of a win

Gujrat look confident always , they do not seem to panic , no matter what is the situation of the game.

Titans need 35 runs in 14 balls.

Gujrat struggling a bit here , but they still have hitters

33 required from 12 overs

Gujrat wuld be looking to get at least 14 - 15 runs in the 19th over

Poor poor from Nortje :facepalm.. just bowl slower ones and Tewatia will miss most of the time..

Shades of 99 WC and Lance Klusener there from Tewatia. What an innings. Unfortunate to be on the losing side.

DC 130/8 (20)
GT 125/6 (20) CRR: 6.25
Delhi Capitals won by 5 runs

Hardik Pandya is another KL Rahul in making with the bat. Single handedly lost the game for his side.

Not rating him yet.. leg side hack, no games at off side, struggles against spin & slower balls..

Yes agree, hack for sure. But he has unique ability to hit sixes under pressure and finish games for his side. Had Pandya showed a bit of intent, Gujarat would have won today.

Even SKY is a hack but players like them are tailor made for T20s

SKY can play all over the ground, also play well against spin & pace..

DC 130/8 (20)
GT 125/6 (20) CRR: 6.25
Delhi Capitals won by 5 runs

Aman Khan's maiden T20 fifty was beautifully complemented by the pacers as Delhi Capitals kept their playoff hopes alive with a tense five-run win over Gujarat Titans in the IPL on Tuesday. Bowling impeccable lengths, Mohammed Shami (4/11 in four overs) was lethal with the new ball as he knocked the wind out of the Capitals' top order, as Gujarat Titans restricted DC to 130 for eight after being asked to bowl. Aman (51 off 44) waged a lone battle, putting some much-need runs on the board. He added 50 off 54 balls with Axar Patel (27) and 53 off 27 balls with Ripal Patel (23).

In reply, Hardik Pandya's (59 off 53) sedate fifty and Rahul Tewatia's (20) hattrick of sixes were not enough as Delhi bowlers held their nerves to stop the defending champions at 125 for 6.

It was the third win of the season for Delhi, who continue to remain at the bottom of the table, while Gujarat continued to remain on the top spot.

Defending a modest target, Delhi quicks were able to make an early breakthrough, as Gujarat lost three wickets inside the powerplay.

If 'Impact Player' Khaleel Ahmed (2/24) bowled a beautiful first over which was a wicket-maiden, pace spearhead Anrich Nortje (1/39) got rid of the dangerous Shubman Gill (6).

Veteran pacer Ishant Sharma (2/23) too joined the party as he outfoxed Vijay Shankar (6) with a perfectly executed knuckle ball.

Wickets continued to tumble with the introduction of the slow bowlers, left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav (1/15) bamboozled David Miller (0) in the seventh over.

Pandya and Abhinav Manohar (26) steadied the Gujarat ship with 62-run stand for the fifth wicket.

Pandya anchored the innings with Tewatia hitting three back-to-back sixes off the penultimate over. But with 12 needed off the final over, Ishant gave away just six runs while taking the vital wicket of Tewatia. Earlier, Delhi once again suffered a dramatic collapse, losing five wickets for 23 runs inside five overs and at the centre of it all was Shami.

The veteran Indian pacer set the tone of the match as he struck off the first ball of the game to get Phil Salt for a golden duck.

A horrible mix up between young Priyam Garg (10) and skipper David Warner (2) cost Delhi the wicket of the Australian in the second over.

Rilee Rossouw (8) was next to depart as Shami struck once again. The veteran Indian induced slight movement away from Rossouw. An outside edge led the ball to straight into the hands of wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha's gloves as Delhi fell to 16 for three.

With Shami bowling a tight opening spell, captain Hardik Pandya decided to continue bowling the pacer and the move paid dividends. Shami continued his wicket-taking streak in his third over, snaring two in his final over.

The Indian bowled a wobble seam delivery, tempting Manish Pandey (1) to drive it but the late movement meant the ball found the edge of the bat and Saha completing a stunning one handed catch diving to his right.

Shami's final victim of the night was Garg with Saha yet again completing another catch behind the stumps.

With half the side back in the dugout, the Capitals, who are at the bottom of the points table and need to win this game to stay alive in the race for the playoffs, were tottering at 28 for five at the end of the Powerplay.

Axar Patel (27), who was promoted up the order, and Aman did stem the rot with some much-needed runs but pacer Mohit Sharma (2/33) broke the 50-run partnership as he snared the wicket of the Delhi vice-captain.

Aman punished Mohit Sharma in the 16th over, hitting a boundary past short third and a flat six over fine leg as DC inched closer to the 100-run mark.

The uncapped Aman brought up a much-needed half century in 41 balls.

His innings was studded with three hits to the fence and as many over it.

In T20 cricket, India should try Tewatia or Rinku in place of D Hooda. My Indian T20I team would be :

Ruturaj ( can accelerate faster than Gill)
Jaiswal
Samson
SKY
Pandya
Rinku/Tewatia
Axar ( move on from Jaddu)
Kuldeep
Siraj( other names can be tried if Siraj rested)
Umran
Arshdeep

Mumbai Indians have won the toss and have opted to field

Teams:

Mumbai Indians (Playing XI): Rohit Sharma(c), Ishan Kishan(w), Cameron Green, Tilak Varma, Tim David, Nehal Wadhera, Jofra Archer, Piyush Chawla, Kumar Kartikeya, Akash Madhwal, Arshad Khan

Jaiswal, Jitesh and Jurel are the finds of this IPL.

Jaiswal was always a bright spot among the upcoming batsmen. But Jitesh and Jurel have popped out of nowhere.

Jitesh might be the best keeper batsman in India right now.

Mumbai need 74 runs in 40 balls.

Punjab needs wickets to comeback here , MI on top at the moment.

Once in a blue moon innings of ishan Kishan in display today. The most inconsistent but talented hitter.

Great chance for Kishan to bat through and walk away with the man of match because SKY will get out at some point due to his high risk cricket.

PBKS 214/3 (20)
MI 216/4 (18.5) CRR: 11.47

Tilak Varma is a beast. Class hitting from the youngster. This guy will be playing for India soon.

Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav shone with their quickfire fifties as Mumbai Indians defeated Punjab Kings by 6 wickets in Mohali.

Chasing a big target of 215, MI were reduced to 54 for 2, but Kishan and Suryakumar stitched 116 runs for the third wicket off 55 balls to put the side on top. Kishan scored 75 off 41 while Suryakumar Yadav scored 66 off 31 as Mumbai got home with 7 balls to spare.

Earlier, Liam Livingstone and Jitesh Sharma stitched 119 off 53 balls for the fourth wicket as PBKS posted 214 for 3 in 20 overs.

Livingstone scored unbeaten 82 off 42 balls and Jitesh hit 49 not out off 27.

Piyush Chawla was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2 for 29, while Arshad Khan scalped one wicket. MI skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first

Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday named Johnson Charles as a replacement for Litton Das for the remainder of the Indian Premier League. Das returned to Bangladesh due to a family medical emergency last week. The 28-year-old, who was bought by KKR at his base price of Rs 50 lakh at last year's auction, was dropped after playing just one match against Delhi Capitals.

Charles – a wicketkeeper-batter – has represented West Indies in 41 T20Is, scoring 971 runs and was a part of West Indies' 2012 and 2016 ICC World Twenty20-winning squads.

Additionally, he has played 224 T20s and has over 5600 runs against his name.

He joins KKR for Rs 50 Lakh.

After watching and Pakistan's home season , PSL and this year's IPL... i have conceded that pitches in India are much better and international quality.. pcb should stop producing roads. It will damage our cricket.. infact it already is damaging. We failed to beat Aus and Eng due to roads for pitches
