^^ As an Indian supporter, I would like Bell to be given the captaincy. He is England's best bat and we will do nicely with some additional pressure on him :)

if Bhuvi had been able to have a go at England yesterday the scoreline would have been different. Though, given the different conditions we have had the best India can do is draw this test.

Mike Brearley on Cook:

"Test players hardly play any county cricket, they don't have the chance to learn captaincy. The first thing that would change things would be a nice hundred. That would be a huge relaxing element. As a captain, you also have to know who to listen to on the field. Ian Botham was a very great help to me, but he always wanted to attack. I would have to then measure that out. Someone like Geoffrey Boycott was saying to be more cautious. You do have people that you trust. Now, the England set-up has changed, who is his real advisor?

Boikz reckons that Chef should drop himself and go back to Essex to get some form back.

Worked for Gooch, who dropped himself for the 1987 series against Pakistan, then came back and scored a century and a fifty against Imran, Walsh, Kapil and Qadir in the MCC Bicentennary Match.

You just can't compere as the modern professional has so much more to lose, cook steps down as skipper and as batsmen and he may never make it back and that would be costing him millions in earnings.

No player would drop themselves in this era and nor should they be expected to, teams have well paid coaches and selectors to make tough decisions on the players.

Dhoni doesn't know how to handle bowlers. He's over bowling Bhuvneshwar and hasn't used Binny at all.

Bell and Ballance look comfortable. 100 runs partnership on cards, I reckon.

I just did compare, thanks. I think a self-dropped but on-form Cook would walk back into this England team. Who would he be up against? Robson, Compton, that chap who played in the Ashes whose name I can't recall?

I know what the Indian bowlers are capable of but I feel that this track has enough in it to not let the tail wag viciously.

I have enough experience to not believe it.

Peter Siddle smashed an awesome 50 in that Delhi turner if I am not wrong and he needed a wide Ashwin delivery to get stumped.

When it comes to us, it REALLY is not over until its over.

17 out of 35 overs bowled by Kumar. Dhoni needs to show some mercy here. Bring Binny now.

I think they will milk Binny here. The guy has been extremely unlucky this tour with all aspects of his game. In a way, it does highlight his bowling limitations atleast.

Lol are you serious? Binny being selected was a disgraceful decision. We are essentially playing with 3 bowlers. If England were half decent, they would have thrashed us in all tests by an innings.

Electron is being negative today and its working.

Stop harassing him. :)

Keeper's catch. Commies saying it too. Both should have gone for it.

First slip was behind keeper.

Listen what the commies are saying now. It was more closer to the first slip, and to his right.

I think Dhoni's initial movement put off first slip. But a good slip fielder should have instinctively lunged at it. Dhawan just stood there.

They also said whenever in doubt, its keeper's catch cos he has the gloves.

Its the Lord's slope that made Dhoni think the ball was further away from him than it was.

In the end, I'm just mad the catch went down.

But I see your point as well. It was that either - or situation. Indians being Indians, left it at the other person to do the work.

IDIOT Dhoni and Dhawan. Atleast be useful somewhere cos in batting you can't.

I am SICK of it.

Now it is. But before the match started, it was the right call for following reasons -

1) Greenest Lords pitch ever.
2) Hope of winning the toss.
3) Hope that pitch will stay the same for an extended period of time.
4) Binny batted superbly in the last match.

Why would anyone play a spinner ahead of Binny given all those factors ?

I'm not talking of playing van extra spinner but I do think pandeyvwould have been a much better option. On any pitch actually.

That would have weakened the batting a great deal I think, unless ofcoz Pandey can bat as well. Dunno much about him.

England on Nelson..... dear old David Shephard is hopping up and down somewhere.....

Again a poor decision by umpire, was a big inside edge.

Pathetic stuff. DRS MUST BE mandatory!
