England v India | 4th Test | August 7-9, 2014 | Manchester

Another quick 80 runs then attack with slips and gullies; try and take enough wickets to break Indian spirits. The usual Cook defensiveness would probably result in a sodden draw. Need to win it today.

India batted 46.5 overs in the first innings. If conditions are similar, the collapse would be worse in the second innings. I think England should declare when the lead is 150, ie, another 20 overs of batting. So, they need approx 70 overs of play to force a result. Can the rains save us? Unlikely. But, we will get you in the next test when the mighty and tall Ishant is back in place of Pankaj Singh :)

Can any India fans explain to me why this hack Jadeja is getting on to bowl instead of the much more effective Ashwin?

Aaron making the ball talk. Sometimes, its hard to understand why it is so tough to choose your 4 best bowlers the very first Test.

This "Singh is unlucky" thing is getting a bit old now.

I think he is pitching a bit too short. He beats the bat enough times but the ball has done too much by the time it arrives to get a nick.

England's gonna win this series and will gain false confidence ahead of Ashes, only to be shown their place by more skilled Aussie pacemen..

Or sledge..:Anderson
When you are this aggressive, if you are playing well, you look like the most badass player ever. However if you fail and that too this badly, man it gets ugly. Much like Ponting did during his India tours.

Or like Anderson during Ashes last year down under :))

Kohli has now 13 drop catches to his name if I am not wrong and his conversion rate is about 50%..and he is supposed to be a very good fielder..

Somehow its fun to see Kohli get owned from time to time. Dunno why? Much like Ponting, Clouderson, Barbie, etc.

I think this series has shown that the current England batting generation does not handle the short ball very well. It's a far cry from the nineties when Atherton, Stewart, Nasser and Thorpe all knew how to play the quick stuff. The problem is that there are no fast bowlers in the CC any longer so the current generation are not learning how to play it properly. They either hook blindly or stick their gloves up in hope and get caught at short leg or silly point.

By next summer I hope Moores will give them intensive practice against the bowling machine wound up to 95 mph, directed at the ribs and throat. Then they can work on ducking and weaving, and will have more chance against Johnson and Cummings.

Dhoni now

India under Dhoni have stopped playing properly under adversity. No inspiration whatsoever!

Somehow feel Buttler is going to be badly targeted.. And Root will come good. The guy has some inner steel. But we never know until we see it. Moeen Ali, well, I'll leave him. Robson, I'm not even sure of his place but will be sorted out even more badly if he stays in the team. Ballance looks a good prospect and may notch up a hundred or couple..

Singh is averaging infinite with the ball in test cricket. As records go that's someSingh pretty bad.

Yeah, I'll go along with that. Moeen is not going to survive the Ashes series at this rate which is not good for the England bowling strategy. Think Buttler will do OK though.

Can't wait to watch India get bowled out for under <200

Hopefully these 2 tailenders will get out quickly before lunch

I hope that people are happy for Pankaj just on the humanitarian grounds. Wouldn't like to see him play the 5th Test.

Apparently! days 4 and 5 will be ruined due to freakish weather in UK. Get a lead of 200 and then declare and go for the kill because unlikely England will bat again in this test match or at best get to bat very little.

Pankaj Singh, get in there my son!
Supporting England, but felt really bad for the guy.

Would like to see India batting soon. Pankaj would be hoping for his sake that he can pick up at least one of the last two scalps.

India boys should be proud. One of your phast bowlers actually inflicted some hurt on the most annoying player in international cricket

This is the second time I am seeing a player bleed from an Indian bouncer
Pathan injured a Zimbabwe player in Australia in 2004
