Ashwin is playing Moen straight and easily. The defense is pretty good. Some famous names need to take a cue from this.

It will take a great delivery from Moen to remove Ashwin.

Yes they use to be the best but ever since 2012 they have struggled against spin. Sri Lanka and South Africa are the best against spin.

hahaha to Jadeja I remember people rating him as the next big superstar or something. Fact is he is a very mediocre cricketer across all forms. Fielding is very good but batting and bowling is poor.

hahaha to India as well. Bunch of overrated players that can only play on flat pitches.

We were great players of spin when Tendu/Ganguly/Dravid/Laxman were playing. They treated spinners with disdain. THe current lot are not as equipped as them.
 
Match is lost .What's the point in tuk-tuking.

Even in IPL your Indian players couldn't handle eventual winners KKR whom had Narine and Shakib.
 
Ashwin looks a better batsman than most of Indias top order . Playing Moeen comfortably.

narine is one of the best spinners around. He has so many variations and even bowls the wrong'un.

Moen is bowling simple off-spinners. Yet we are making look like the best spinner ever.

Someone playing 20(100) is lot more valuable than 40(60) in many situations but still you will see many Indians trying to play the later. I am not saying that you play 20(100) but talking about the mindset when you need to save the test. I know that most of them are stroke maker but even SRT with all the shots refused to play aggressively if he felt that it was not working for him.

That's why I was so optimistic about Eng win despite Broad not being there.

You are right and they already know the forecast so it was all about playing overs and a draw here was almost a victory for India if you look back at 8/4. They needed a Plessis or Misbah here these are the situations where you need players like them instead of players Kohli. The only hope india had in this 11 was Pujara but he is gone too. India need a Wall in their lineup for these situations and the only player they got for these type situations is Pujara so he is this generation Dravid.
 
This would be considered poor stuff from india in most circumstances but when you consider they know how bad the forecast for later days is what they have produced the last hour or so has been truly abysmal.

I actually thought they had turned a corner overseas after that 2nd test win but they came out with a defensive attitude and the wrong team last test and the cricket they have played in these 2 tests is as bad anything from the 0-8 eng/aus tours a few years back.
 
I wonder why they took Anderson off. They generally flog him for 7 over spells, but he's done 4 and 5 today. Probably to let him have a third spell later in the day since Broad is off. Well, perhaps he can pull a Broad. Once someone makes the inroad (like Jimmy did last mid session) Broad came in and cleaned up the tailenders. They're probably hoping for something similar from him if one of our useless 3rd and 4th seamers can make a breakthrough.

I think they are not out of form - what they lack is the skill set to succeed in England. In the 1970-1990s Gavaskar, Engineer, Vengsarskar, Azhar, SRT etc. all played for Counties so they learned the skills. This lot are more interested in being IPL rockstars. I can't blame them for following the money, but their lack of skill has been exposed here.

Specially the mind set. Things can happen but if you don't even attempt to play according to match situation any time then you have some serious problem.

Read somehwere that the BCCI doesn't allow Indians to take part in County.Is it true?
 
Woakes is a terrible bowler. They should get Finn back. Also if Broad was here, India would already be all out.
 
Has here been any update on broad?

Hopefully it's not something that requires any sort of facial surgery.

How easy the conditions are for batting.

As Robert said, some of the Indian batsmen are not skilled enough to tackle movement and pressure of Test cricket(In this innings). Some of these guys need to play a season or 2 in county cricket.

Ashwin is looking more comfortable than any of the top order batsmen in this series barring Vijay in the first 2 tests.

I was surprised ashwin hasn't played the whole series as a batting allrounder, he didn't do much with the ball in aus but outside of kohli i thought he was india's best bat in our bouncier conditions.
 
Fat lady is ready to sing here. Frankly, Indians deserved to lose the last 2 tests mainly due to their mindset if nothing else.

I don't think there is much to do with Eng conditions here. It's more to do with Indians not even having a mindset to spend long time in middle. Accept Pujara and Vijay, I don't think others tried to spend long time in middle on consistent basis. You may fail or succeed when trying to do so but that's a different thing.
 
I want broad to come back to bowl an over to aaron which hopefully includes a beamer to the face :holding

A wickets a wicket, a heck of a lot of the wickets indian spinners get at home are from poor shots from batsmen unsure of how to approach the spinner but they mean just as much, forcing these shots is just a vital part of an offies game.

Ashwin and Bhuvi should at least try to take it to tomorrow and than hopefully the hurricane will do the rest.
 
Ashwin is the best batsman we have. HIs career stats do no justice to his talent because of the position he bats at.

Ashwin > :kohli
 
What amuses me most is that Moeen has an FC average of nearly 40 and takes about 1.3 wickets a match in County Cricket. Good thing these best players of spin are so generous to his stats.

Ashwin is looking very solid. Give the guy the opening spot get rid of Dhawan, Rohit or Gambhir

Nasser just said that over the last two years Pujara and Kohli average just 20 apiece against offies in tests. I find that extraordinary.
 
Jordan is useless, get him off for a real quick bowler. And get Finn in next game. Test matches are not the place to cultivate talent, it's the place to showcase it. Jordan is too raw for Tests, let him practice in ODIs and County.
