let's see how the bowlers respond with a deficit, could be a useful test.

btw been good bowling, been consistent in the right areas and got their rewards.

Perth I think, didn't do too badly but Hussey played a blinder

Ashes, I remember now. Year ago, not bad :)

By the way, when does the Lions tour start and is there going to be coverage of it?

Swann sixer! always good for a laugh and he occasionally gets a score.

Are people actually taking this game seriously? First time England have played any cricket for months, in completely foreign conditions.

Can i ask is this three day game structured like a normal test game? If it is then I can't see this being anything other than a draw?

England have declared with 90 deficit, will bowl after tea.

Reasons
- more bowling practice
- want the actual batsmen to have another knock
- don't want to get bowled out by associate team

Good decision

England declare at 185-8

Good decision, Swann and Anderson dont need batting practice

Surely you would just let the tail enders then slog it a bit and get out? :))

Malakian, you got stream fer this?

Yeah probably, but i expect Strauss is desperate for the top order to get more practice, no point in wasting time letting Jimmy & Swanny bat.

No link i'm afraid, just following via cricinfo.

what wouldn't I give for this ICC team to hand England a defeat in a 3 day game :D

And the excuses have started.

Its a bunch of Afghans and Irish guys. Afghan cricketers dont even get paid. Irish are part timers. And its a flat track. Too much for your South African jobbers to handle obviously.

30 overs left in the day, could do with 5 wickets if they want to win.

This game doesnt count because it is not played in England

Don't worry, we will still destroy Pakistan when the real cricket starts.

I know you guys will play better against Pakistan. They must've watched every video on youtube that has to do with Ajmal, Hafeez etc. The glorious video warriors! just like the invincible Aussies of 2000s who often crumbled every time a new part time spinner rolled his arm because they hadn't watched videos of him previously.

Lol yeah Indians should probably stay out of most threads on batting collapses for now.

wrapped up in your silly rhetoric are often good points, you should become more serious, you have potential as a poster

Why don't give some credit to the opponent? Instead of always waiting for the real cricket?

Well, Boyd Rankin is a very good bowler, one of the best in county cricket last year. He would walk into Pakistan's team.

We've already seen Ajmal though, especially Stuart Broad who managed to score 169 against him. I expect England are using ProBatter to prepare for Pakistan, not just watching some grainy YouTube video with bollywood music playing in the background.

england have nothing to worry about no player take warm up games seriously. england must be giving their 10% and other team 200% to prove point.

Indians accusing us of being home track bullies?

Oh the irony! :)))

Indians being HTBs doesn't preclude us from taking pot-shots at others.

Lol yeah Indians should probably stay out of most threads on batting collapses for now.

Not much to cheer seeing our team's performance. Enemy's misery is my happiness and all that...

He needs to chill out, don't want him getting injured for the actual tests. How fast was Finn bowling whippy? Any ideas?

Didn't see it yesterday dude, I'll let you know how they bowl as they come on today

Cheers mate. I wouldn't mind spending a tenner on the stream, but i hear there were lots of technical issues & downtime yesterday.

we're not allowed to discuss it greeky :(

most people will have to pay sadly, shame that's the case but this is in reality a very positive move, giving the cream of the associate nations a first-class game against England.

Are Sky showing the next warm-up match against Pakistan A? Or is that another streaming jobby?

Asking too much of minnows to have 3 good innings in a row?
It wasn't the openers who scored in the first innings either. In fact so far it looks like a repeat of the first innings.

Finally a run off the bat :14:

Broad to Saqib Ali, 1 run, driven not well timed, Cook making a diving stop at mid off.

3/2 in 4 overs

Broad bowling at high pace on a fullish length, getting swing away from the right hander. Just needs to bowl a bit closer to his off-stump to get the wickets.

This is exactly what might trouble pakistani batsman. Swining the ball at 140+ kph will be hard to face. Taufeeq Umar, a clear lbw canditate will do well to keep the balls away.

Broad looks the best bowler on either side, a vastly improved player.

Ali c Davies b Broad

Deserved dismissal, a gripping spell from Broad

7/3

any chase will be tough, but the gulf in class is becoming apparent in the 2nd innings, as was expected. associates just aren't used to competing with test sides for 3 days. I reckon we'll win.

Between 20 and 35 overs left today, depending on light.

Lots more wickets up for grabs.

Update from ICC: Hamid Hassan, who was injured fielding for the ICC XI, has been cleared of any serious injury, but won’t play any further part in the game.

George Dockrell will replace Hamid Hassan in ICC XI against England and teams have agreed he can bat and bowl in the 2nd innings
