What a ball Ashwin 😃 pitch turning big.
Ominous signs for Aussies.
Smith needs to drop anchor

Aussies chosen playing XI is poor - that’s a line-up for 350+ track. They went with just three specialist batsmen and over killed the bowling. These Marsh, Green … are not going to score many here and five pacers here!!! Should have dropped Josh for one more batsman at least.

Thry should have selected Aston agar insted of one pace allrounder .

Yes, only one of Marsh/Green should play. They need one more spinner today.

Australia can still post 300 as pacers will be untroubled in this game.

When Warner and Smith were batting together runs were coming freely but now even Smith is not rotating strike

Jadeja comes and does what he does best, release all the pressure

This is test match level gripping cricket.

Making of arguably the match of the tournament so far.

They should be more than satisfied- the key here is /1, not 71. This is an “un-usual” ODI wickets where old equation will work - provided wickets at hand, the equations are: Final Score =

4 x 15th over end score (max one down)
3 x 20th over end score (max two down)
2 x 30th over end score (max 3 down)

That suggests, Aussies are heading for 275ish score - more than enough with Gill not playing.
Gill is a poor player of spin anyway

Smith has always been such a thorn in the flesh.
Smith is class bro. You gotta give it to India. Bumrah was world class like he always is, especially against Warner.

Kuldeep is very hard to get away, it doesn't help they guy turns it a mile and he bowls slow, meaning zero pace to for batsmen to manoeuvre.

Its really just ashwin, Pandya and jadeja they can target. Siraj, Bumrah , kudleep, these boys are too good to ton .

The more bowling friendly wicket is, the more specialist players you need - may be 5 specialist bat including WK, 3 specialist bowlers, one bowling all-rounder and may be two bits & pieces. Over the years ICC has made this game a gold digging mine for so called “All-rounders” who can slog few blows with planted feet & share 30 overs between them for 200 runs… good value for money when the par is 300+

Not when you need batsmen to play out 50 overs and bowlers who can get batsmen out when they are not in a mad rush to score at 7 per over.

This is one of those “ugly” wickets where playing “modern” cricket could be a bit tricky.

Australia have enough power hitter for death over so they can easily score 275+ from now if we don't take wicket . India need one more wickets disparately

Tale Smith out and then game over for aus. Smith and possibly Maxwell.

After 26 overs, 104/2. Is this pressure or Australians are playing some poor cricket?

Australia don't have enough spinners for this sort of pitch. India should win from here.
Exactly what I was thinking . Maxwell if you play him sensibly you shouldn’t lose wickets to him, ideal for low scoring game. Zampa even if he has a good day it’s just one bowler. India have two full time spinners and jadeja who is very much capable and would be a full time spinner in other squads.

Australia not wristy enough to score off the spinners. If Australia thinking theyl leave it to death overs they still have to content with Bumrah !
