What's new

India [252] defeat New Zealand [217] by 35 runs to win the 5th ODI and win series 4-1

If only anyone of Kane or Latham stuck on one end taking singles and twos and let the Hard Hitters from other end launch boundaries, NZ would win with ease.

Neesham has looked good and has secured the spot.

He's a really solid batsmen to have down the order.

CdG is a useless cricketer. Aman why is he in the team, surely there are better ARs out there in NZ.

A couple of matches where he's won single handily.

He's our Afridi pretty much.

He won a difficult match against Pakistan in no -time around a year ago, CDG I remember that. Correct?

Scores quick runs coming late and chased the target with ease.

Yeah, that's one of the matches.

The selectors see him as a game changer, he is but he rarely performs and is useless against spinners.

If they can handle the spinners they can do it. Neesham is pretty solid, not sure of him against quality spin though or in a situation like this.

They need to be able to finish games in these positions, there isn't that much run rate pressure.

7 down, but holy ****, how deep is the batting here.

It is great to see an Asian team performing well in alien conditions.

We, Asians, must be proud about this fact.

Wow NZ bat deep.. I think they're pretty set for WC -

Neesham

Lockie

12th - Henry

This associate level NZ is no match for India B. One sided series with proper thrashing!

And we batted sensibly, you would have been chasing 350. :vk2
Difference between chasing 250 and setting a total which you aren't certain is good or not.

Kane, Neesham and Astle's dismissals were poor.

We didn't play percentage cricket and careless when the match was there for the aking.

Brother I am talking about our bench strength.. Shankar wont be playing.. Kholi wil be back and bumrah too so we are in good shape..

I didn't expect NZ to reach 200, but then, I didn't expect India to reach 150 earlier either.

What a way to get out ... Pandya and Jadhav sometimes pick wickets out of thin air off some absolutely rubbish balls ... long may it continue.

Seeing Vijay Shankar in national side in 2019 bowling dibbly dollies at 120kmph makes me remember the horrific times of 90s

1-4.

I'll take it with both Colin's gone, it was the only way they were going to go.

Kane has a lot to work in with his batting, but not going to read too much into it. Was pretty apparent he was trying out bowlers in the middle

No Kohli, Kuldeep and Bumrah. Openers and Dhoni not performing and yet a comfortable win.

Embarrassing for Kiwis.

Good match for India from the point of view of WC preparation . Middle order bailing out the team in difficult condition which hasn't happened for a long time. Pandya providing finishing touch in slog overs. Bowlers defending a mediocre total.

One of the finest victories by India away from home after being reduced to 18/4 and their backs on the wall, they have come roaring back to smash NZ 4-1.

Bhuvi takes very less wickets. Most of the times he gets either 1 or 0 wickets...hmmm.. I mean for a strike bowlers who bowls mostly at the death, he gets less wickets than normal...

You do realize Kane started trying out bowlers when he could have bowled India out for 100 again? :))

No one cares what Kane wanted to do. No one plays a game to lose it. By the way, I was referring to the whole series which India have bossed barring the one off in Hamilton.
