What's new

India (445 & 430/4d) defeat England (319 & 122) by 434 runs in third Test to take 2-1 lead in five Test match series

Looks like they've been told get to what you can in 10 overs. The whole thing since yesterday morning has been a masterclass in game management and captaincy from the Indian leadership group - Dravid, Rohit etc. Can they keep it up to throttle England and finish the match off?

England getting absolutely smashed in this game. Apart from the first hour on day 1 and Duckett’s impressive century, it’s been all India. Can see England going down for a low 4th innings score the way this one is going. A chastening experience! Their worst thrashing in a few years I’d say.

Jaiswal has now struck 10 sixes in this inning. Most by any Indian batter. Brilliant... 3 back to back 6s to Anderson was something else..

100-run stand between these 2 batters and it's come off 88 balls. Simply sensational

Not sure why Anderson is bowling. He is getting a pasting here.

going to be new set of pacers for next Test on 23rd - fancy ENG batting for more than 100 overs chasing this ?
Nah, Eng is not chasing this despite being a good surface to bat. India will add another 50 runs here minimum and that too in a very quick time.

4th test:-

Jaiswal
Rohit(c)
Gill
Rahul
Sarfaraz
Jadeja
Jurel(wkt)
Ashwin
Axar
Kuldeep
Siraj

Rahul replaces Patidar and Axar replaces Bumrah.

This is getting silly now. Why are the India team not in their whites yet? Half an hour more at the most right?

Everything is being bowled on leg stump.

Where is Botham who said England has revived test cricket?

Another 5-6 overs and India may be able to add another 50 runs if one big over comes.

Manjrekar taking a dig at Tendulkar for that 194*

What an idiot!

I'd hesitate to play 4 spinners. We'd be really tinkering with the formula that's made us so successful at home. The Pacers have contributed so much to our success over the last 10 years.

No chance of Shami coming back? If not, I'd call Umesh back. He's bowling in Ranji and still looking good.

Good from Root to bowl outside of the leg with a packed leg-side field.

What a contrast to England's first Test win of the series.

Jaiswal should get his double and then India should step on the pedal and race to a 600 + lead. Point is not to beat England .

It is to cook England under the sun and make them crack under the pressure of a monster lead with not enough time to recover properly for the next Test.
Good idea but Winning is more important eng might scrap to draw

It's jealousy.

Manjrekar was originally considered to be the next big thing from Mumbai, the heir to Gavaskar, before Sachin left him in the dust.

Do you remember his iconic innings of 20(43) in the 1996 QF

England trying to kill the game now. 130 overs to bat this one out on a flat pitch, under normal circumstances it would be an easy draw, but what will England do… the fools will go for it won’t they.

perhaps not ...

These England players can't play normal test cricket that's why brendon mccullum created this bazball

If Eng bats for a draw, it's easy to bat 130 overs on this pitch.

indeed. Can’t see it though. It means they have to eat their words. I don’t think this team wants to do that. It would rather be principled and go down in flames to a defeat, than pragmatic and escape with what would be a perfectly decent draw.

Quality batting from Jaiswal.

He's going to be a star in the coming years.

World record is 12 sixes in a test innings by Wasim against Zimbabwe during that 257 innings

This tendency to slow down for landmarks is frustrating. Too much importance for individual landmarks drives people away from the game.

Negative bowling with packed leg side. Both did fine.

Rohit Sharma is hilarious

Batsmen self declared and was walking back. Rohit was like - 'Why coming back? Wapas jao aur bat karo'

Hahahaha

The commentary is making England look bigger than they actually are.

We will look to chase whatever score comes? Lol. They haven't posted a proper batting score in 5 innings so far to walk the talk.
