odis and tests India on paper, in T20s India is no-8 , we are in the same league as Afganistan
 
Pakistan line-up for India & Australia matches

Now 2 practice matches are done and dusted, we pretty much tried all players available in pool. With crunch match coming this Friday, Pakistan has no time to play further and a MUST to decide final line-up for next two matches vs India & Australia

I would like Shoail Tanveer, Shoaib Malik, and Bhatti to be not part of next match vs India atleast, as none of them seems to be doing justice with their selections on repeated recent occasions.

My favorite XI for now is:

1. A Shahzad
2. K Akmal
3. Hafeez
4. Sharjeel Khan (dropping to lower order due to poor form with new ball)
5. Umer Akmal
6. Shoaib Maqsood
7. Afridi
8. Umer Gul
9. Saeed Ajmal
10. Mohammad Telha/Zulifiqar Barbar (selection on pitch review)
11. Junaid Khan


* Concerns:

I am having big gut feelings that dirty politics are hurting Pakistan team, new chief selector Rashid Lateef's statement to select Tanveer over Junaid Khan * & to rely on Malik is a huge concern. Both are useless and sense less player and should not have been selected on the first place. We will loose if either one of them is selected in next 2 matches for sure...

Perfect lineup. Apart from Ajmal, everyone in this lineup can belt the ball.

The 4 overs that'll be shared between Tanvir and Bhatti will be potential weak links but the alternatives in Junaid and Talha are rubbish anyhow.

If they play our batting weakens further while the bowling doesn't improve.

Shoaib "steady" Malik will be up for it :rashid

I expect a straightforward victory. :hafeez

but still pak are chokers against Ind especially in a WC, it was not possible to win even with imran khan and javed miandad way back in 1992

Not trying to get overly hyped about this match. I would like Pakistan to somehow make it next stage.
 
pak on paper is a stronger side I think if we chase we can win , the pitch will have a lot of dew so indian spinners will not be able to grip the ball
 
India start as favourites... 1 wicket in first 3-4 overs and game over for Pakistan..they have to put up atleast 160 ..will be difficult with ashwin and jaddu bowling in the middle overs

Actually on paper IND is much stronger, have you looked at their batting lineup? But realistically PAK may play better even though they carry unknown/new players like Maqsoob, Sharjeel, Bhatti.

TBH, Sharjeel over Malik any day of the week, at least he has done SOMETHING substantial in the last 6 months (one inning of 50 off 25, nothing else, but still):

Maqsood ahead of Akmal, because I feel Akmal takes too much pressure in Pak v Ind matches, and would be more beneficial for him to come towards the end if we're the ones setting the target.

Despite how bad we flopped vs SA I wish Pakistan the best, and Insh Allah we thrash India for the first time in a WC and go on to lift the trophy. Pakistan Zindabad

PLAY MALIK AGAINST INDIA IS A THUMB RULE and bat him up the order... why because malik's career avg is 32 but his avg against Ind in all formats together is 46 and in T20 it is 39...
 
Too much of an emphasis on this game has actually added a lot of extra pressure on Pakistan. I am sure Indians are not as worried as we are. Or even if they are, they aren't talking too much about it.

I think this game is 51-49 in India's favor not because they are a better side but we have already made this game difficult for us by worrying too much about it. Probably another tradiotional/trademark Pakistani batting collapse on the cards by over cautious approach of our batsmen due to too much of a self created Pre-match pressure.
I hope I am wrong.
 
Fielding is the deciding factor in which india totally outclass pakistan.we have world class fielders.Now expect 2-3 more drop catches from pakistan as they have big hearts and they usually do against us in world cups.

India will come with a game plan and will finish off pakistan, it is obvious pakistan will not make any plans and will be seen clueless as they are always...

India's plans will be very simple...

batting 1st or 2nd

1) right from the word go - ATTACK
2) overs bowled from short boundaries, no matter who bowls and how many wickets in hand.. go for the maximum...

pakistan will find hard to understand the rule no.2 during the course of the match...

bowling 1st or 2nd

1) just bowl to the stumps and keep it tight in the PP overs and build little bit of pressure, rest pakistan will take care...

i am sorry but you don't know our openers.Rohit thinks it's a test match and starts to blunt the new ball..a bit of tuk-tuk is fine,but he doesn't even take singles
all he does is : 0 0 0 0 0 0 4 0 0 0 0 0 1 2 0 0 6 out

and dhawan is hit or miss...nowhere as attaching as our openers were in the past :sehwag :ganguly :srt

rohit did play positively against pak in the asia cup... and attacked right from the word go..

I don't want Malik anywhere near the playing XI, but he will probably play at the expense of Sharjeel.
I also don't want to see Tanvir (he got clobbered by NZ), but he will probably play at the expense of Talha. I believe Sharjeel should play ahead of Malik because Sharjeel will either go on a rampage or self destruct. We only have 5 genuine batsmen in the squad, we should use all 5. Kamran Akmal can be useful, but is still a gamble. He howevre has a great record at the World T20....
 
^^ I got a feeling they will play Malik vs India.

I wouldn't care if we win thanks to Malik tho :P

The fact remains he is a ttf along with Kamran 'Gilchrist' Akmal

I can hardly disagree with anything you said.
Just by the looks, one can feel that Indians are shrewd and street smart while many of our guys look clueless.

Why would you play Shehzad in T20s?

By the time his Strike Rate gets above 50, we'd be half way through the other teams innings.

Trust me he was looking a different MoYo in that program last time maybe that was because everyone else was talking sensibly :P and the way he was praising indian batsman and kohli for a while i thought MoYo is on BCCI payroll too :))

Our boys generally take the Indian counterparts to the cleaners with Moyo particularly in top form :moyo
 
Yaya Hussaini and Sarfraz Nawaz are having a fight. They are talking about sending notices to each other.

haha last time Sikander Bakht even had a plate of Mithai after winning and offered it live on camera to Kambli, Parabakhar and co :))

Seriously though Im gonna back Pakistan for this one. All the pressure is on India due to their good win vs England in the warm up whereas Pakistan are seen as underdogs due to todays performance. Ajmal to take three wickets and Pakistan to scrape a win IMO.

More than likely, he bowls a couple at the death and is generally very difficult to get away without losing a couple in the process.

Watched Takra at Geo News way too many people for a 40 min. program everyone was blabbering but :raja predicted a tie

NOw there is the other one on Geo Super with yahya the tezdhaar which i'm not watching as it will be absolute slapstick :))
 
Champions Trophy showed if you don't start strong in a tournament which throw big teams at you straight away you will get wiped out.

Pak has to start strong and win. If they don't win this game then there is a strong chance they will get knocked out.

It is a rhythm team, it works on momentum. In full swing it is majestic and pure brilliance but if things go wrong early on it falls apart into a trundling, TTF beast mode.

We have to apply pressure in the first 6 overs with the bat. That is where the game will be won and lost.

If we are 34/3 after 6 overs batting then we are screwed chasing or not.
 
so annoyed cos i'll be at school but my dad is off but when i get home only 5 overs will be left, aaah, so annoyed. even if i just got home later so the match is finished i could've recorded the match and then wacthed it from the start but my dad won't let me do that if the match is still live. fgs, i hope i get ill

Amit Mishra will be their key bowler. We need to get 24-28 runs off his four overs and hit their weak links, Kumar and Ashwin out of the attack.

Don't think India will play Rahane tomorrow.
