Both him and salah were hot and cold drifted abit in the game
Salah was better got in some good positions just never could clinically finish one chance was hard the second one you would have expected him to score that given salahs calibre and ability.

But i dont think both can play in the same lineup it doesn't work you either play salah or wirtz .

Although ekitike seems to link better with wirtz that was my observation. Eikitike seems dismissive of salah.

I’d play Ekitike on left , Isak (in form ) , Salah and Wittz just behind, no 10.

Playing midfielders like Dom , Jones or Macca as a no 10 is poor when you have Wirtz

I think anyone who takes the mantle will find it very tough, replacing a legend is never easy but cannot let sentiment lead to an extended slide.

Similarly VVD, this should be his last season also.

Both deserve an incredible send-off....

Seem to have decent profiles but it is a key decision that will govern how much of a resurgence there would be.

A Utd player who abused his partner will never be allowed to play for Liverpool. I do think he’s a good player .

Rodrygo was looked at , very high price and doubts over his ability to adapt to the PL .

Barcola is a great call , serious pace and very direct . I’d take him

Only concern barcola, he gives Oudmane Dembela vibes at a young age(pre and early Barca) i.e. end product is found wanting at times, my only worry but if you had that pace combined with Frimpong.... like a track team.

I remember that Olise was linked also but he would cost a lot of money!
 

Spurs open talks to sign Liverpool's Robertson​


Tottenham have begun talks with Liverpool in an effort to sign left-back Andy Robertson.

Robertson, 31, is out of contract at Anfield in the summer and said last week that he was undecided on his future.

The Scotland international has started just four times in the Premier League this season and wants regular involvement before the World Cup.

BBC Sport understands Spurs have made an approach but no outcome has been reached at this stage.

Liverpool signed Robertson from Hull City for £8m in 2017 during Jurgen Klopp's reign and he has made 363 appearances for the Reds.

Robertson's most recent appearance came from the bench in the 1-1 draw against Burnley on 17 January.

Before that game, Liverpool head coach Arne Slot said Robertson had been "important" to the club and praised him for the way he has handled losing his starting position to summer signing Milos Kerkez.

'Robertson offers experience and leadership' - analysis

When Thomas Frank takes a look at the options in his squad, defence is the area he's probably most comfortable with.

As the injuries build - Tottenham currently have eight players unavailable - just one of those sidelined is a defender - Ben Davies, who recently suffered a broken ankle.

Across the back line, Frank has depth. At left-back alone, he has Destiny Udogie, who's just returned from injury, Djed Spence, who can play right or left-back and Brazilian Souza, who joined the club for £13m on Thursday.

So going for Andy Robertson may seem a little surprising given what Tottenham actually need, with their depleted midfield a constant problem.

But what Spurs don't have in the squad is experience. Joao Palhinha is the only available player who is 30 years old or above. Four of their oldest seven players are injured.

Robertson, at 31, offers that experience and - as Scotland's captain - brings a leadership Spurs are arguably desperate for.

Hungary international Kerkez would be the only senior left-back for Slot to call on if Robertson is sold, but Liverpool could look to recall Kostas Tsimikas from his loan spell at Roma.

Tottenham completed the signing of Brazilian left-back Souza on Thursday and are already well stocked in that area of the field.

Destiny Udogie has been the preferred choice of manager Thomas Frank this season, with Djed Spence also offering cover.

Ben Davies was another option, but the Wales international sustained a broken ankle on Sunday and has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

Spurs' move for Robertson could be a bid to add experience to a young squad, with 32-year-old Davies the only player over the age of 30.

Robertson has won nine trophies during his time at Liverpool, including two Premier League titles and the Champions League.

I think this is where the redistrubution occurs bhai.

Even when it was Salah Mane Firmino, would get circa 40-50 (give or take) across them. With the likes of Isak (when fully firing) and Ekitike, the should do a lot of that heavy lifting.

It is the centre of defence that worries me more as well as a proper understudy to Gravenberch

Reality is Liverpool have always replaced their strikers. That's the one think Liverpool have always done.

Just because you have performed season after season, doesn't give you the right go think your bigger than the club, nor doesn't it give you right to think you don't need to Try or make an effort all of sudden. Most people that spoke out was over his attitude. That included players who played for Liverpool in the 70s and 80s who who had lot more success then salah as well

But fans blasting him FOR HIS PERFORMANCES early this season after he virtually carried Liverpool to the title last season is uncalled for in my opinion. Pound for pound, the best winger/forward in premier league history.

No comprehension issues here.

Fans blasting him were because he had a new contract, they believe he was being lazy and not making an effort.

Plenty of players have had new contracts at other teams and performances have dipped. So people will criticise.

Saka has a new 300K a week contract at Arsenal, and if he doesn't performance he will get criticised as well. Again just because uve carried a team in past, doesn't absolve you performing now. Espcially when in case of Salah and Van dyk uve been given bumper contracts.

Bhai, what I have realised is some people geuinely do not have a life and that is why they frequent forums to sich a degree that there is talk of legacy and that too, at the age of 40+.... trying to fall under the guise of some authority that deserves deference... on an online forum!!

Go listen to Ex players views like souness, Daglish, Barnes etc.. All players who won numerous titles at Liverpool. All players who said that no matter what you won, you still always made the effort afterwards and never thought you had entitlement.

So like I said it's not just fans who were critical, ex Liverpool players were saying the same thing. Players who are bigger legends at Liverpool then salah as well.

Salah last season was devoid of any defence duties, yet there was no out cry from fans then. Because his Goal contribution out put was exemplary.

Salah this season has had a slow start when it comes to Goal contribution which then his lack of defending has been highlighted also Which the delusional low footballing IQ Brigade somehow have linked this together and come to the conclusion hes downtooled.

What people have to remember, Salah rejected a eyewatering Saudi deal to sign the Liverpool contract

If a player isn't contributing in their Role in the team regardless of stature they can be dropped.

Again go see souness and Barnes comments, where they indicated players have to be picked on Merit. So rightly Salah was dropped.

So what If Salah rejected a contract, if you the highest paid player at the club you have to perform.

Seems there is this new retarded modern day notion that if you've performed in past, that you can just then sudden not perform and keep being picked.

Also just because last season someone is asked not to defend, if the manager asks you change your role to help the team then you do it.

You can't have scenarios where a player isn't following instructions if a manager and team has asked to help out.

Players dont perform . Which is normal. But labeling someone to have downtooled because of his Contract is in my opinion not true. Otherwise he wouldn't have extended and most definitely gone to Saudi to definitely DOWNTOOL in a mickey mouse league with extortionate wages!

There are plenty of examples where players have got new contracts and performances have suddenly dipped.

The fact that Salah himself indicated his entitlement is evidence that he thought he didn't have to make an effort. The fact he said this got everyone's back up and rightly so. It also sends a bad message to other players who maybe trying their best and not being picked.

All those defending him seem to have this self entitlement issue as well.

Like I said before Liverpool will get another striker who come along and score goals. The volumes may not be as high. But doesn't mean that those goals will not have impact.

Some clubs like Chelsea have struggle to find any sort of half decent goal scores other than Drogba and Diego Costa in last 25 years

Liverpool have always found a player in to get them goals. Like I said Daglish, Rush, Fowler, Owen, Torres, suarez, salah

How many players were at the same level as Daglish as a player? Has it stopped Liverpool winning stuff? No it hasn't. So same will apply when Salah goes.

VVD was at fault for both goals... he really is having a poor season but one bad season at the end of your career does not undo all of the other seasons.
