Pakistan (143/2) clinch a historic ODI series win with a commanding 8-wicket victory over Australia (140) in the 3rd ODI, securing the series 2-1

This is where Pakistan are so stupid with their players

Mate the guy has a dislocated thumb. Australia 111-7

They wont get to 300, just take Afridi off for proper treatment. It’s not a matter of life and death here!

Been reading pp for years. You guys just love to have petty arguments and have a desperate need to always be right. Just enjoy cricket chaps

omg what a ball from Naseem. A shame no wicket on that because it was a perfect delivery.

Naseem deserved that one. Bowling his heart out today. I think Rauf should finish the job now

I dunno how or why Shaheen is still in the field and running around. Just get him off the field, make sure his thumb isn't broken and let him rest a bit. Rest of the bowlers are enough to clean up remaining batters.

The way Naseem started today, it was clear he was set for a strong day with the ball. For the first time in a while, he looked fully fit and firing on all cylinders. Pakistan needs to be extremely cautious in managing his workload, given his history of injuries.

For what reason is Shaheen himself on the field

Clearly he can say that he needs to go get some ice or treatment on the thumb.

What is up with Wasim and his endless PR campaign for the PCB Chairman in this series? Fishing for a job?

@Nikhil_cric

Congrats for making the perfect prediction.

Add Travis Head , Marsh and Carey (on current form) and it's a different batting lineup altogether.

I wouldn't worry too much. Australia understands the format and develops players better than anyone else.

This series is just a build up for BGT. I'm sure they will have a strong squad by 2027 when it matters.

Fully fit and firing? He's bowled well but he's at least 6-10 km/h slower than his usual self

It's a dislocated finger on his right hand. It's not that bad. You can pop it back into place and he has gotten some spray on it too.

Now guys just imagine Babar the Mr Script in same situation in this series , He would have started worrying about the quota of 5th bowler and this would be difference between 150 and 250 score and series score line would be most likely 3-0 for Aussies , full credit to Riz to go for the more risky but aggressive option of going through with pacers.

I'm not worried. But you're the only one who predicted the outcome. So it deserves a ping.

I mean the chairman does deserve praise for going out of the box. You would prefer Raja the clown over him?

looks like sacking Gary was a mastertroke
Indeed looks like.. Seems more to do with the selection and who the captain is..

Heard that Gary wants Babar to stay as captain and doesn't want to drop Shadab , 2 critical decision that has contributed a lot for this series i guess..

It’s very convenient to downplay the opposition's efforts by pointing out that Head, Marsh, and Carey are missing, calling it a “build-up to the BGT.” Head is really the only world-class batter who’s absent. Pakistan also doesn’t have Fakhar in the lineup.

I don’t think India’s bowling would have dominated this ODI series the way Pakistan's current quartet has. India’s attack tends to drop significantly beyond Bumrah and Shami is past his peak. However, their batting lineup makes up for this, and having world-class spinners certainly helps.

No one clocked

Why was Hasnain at mid on last over?

Abbot would have been out if a proper fielder was in the right position

It went way over, someone else would’ve gotten closer but very unlikely that would have been taken

This is stupid by Abbot

He can give the single to Spencer against Naseem

After many, many years, I see a PAK team that knows their core strength. PAK as a team will and can never play a cricket game of bat vs bat - fans should forget about playing "modern" game of 325 vs 325 and fantasy scores like 180/3 after 25 overs, rather the game for PCT should be 10 wickets vs 10 wickets. And PAK bowling can't paly the "containing" game - it should know only one way to bowl.

Lots of credit should go to Gillespie to realize the core strength of PAK team & Riz as well to back him. Long, long after, probably since 1990s, I see a PAK team with 4 strike bowlers picked on absolute bowling merit without considering the "runs from tail". Still whatever comes from bat is bonus, but these four are picked for 40 wicket taking overs and that was PAK's game I saw under Khan, where at times someone Imran Khan was 6th bowler of the playing XI.

Am always wary of Abbott’s batting. Can’t remember the game but I recall him smacking us previously

With the sun baking, pitch has become easier to bat on, good for Pakistan.

As for Naseem, he's been struggling with his fitness lately and coming back from an injury. Up until today, he always seemed to be dealing with discomfort, making faces like his muscles were hurting. Today, however, is the first time in a while that he’s looked fit and really giving it his all. Of course, it’ll take some time for him to get back to the speeds he was bowling at before.

Kinda looks like batting is getting a bit easier with the soft ball.

Honestly, I would give Saim mystery spin a go and see if he can fool the tail enders.

Spencer Johnson looks like he can run for US presidency when he retires

Its Aqib behind all of this. Gillipese himself says hes only a match day strategist and has no role in any thing else.
