A victory over Bangladesh in Benoni on Saturday will ensure their qualification, while a narrow loss might also be enough to see Pakistan edge into the final four should their net run rate stay in front of Bangladesh.

It's likely Pakistan will finish in second place on the Group 1 standings and face a tricky match-up against the top team from Group 2 in the semi-finals, with a potential match-up in the final against India should both teams win their respective semis.

Pakistan would have an upper hand here but as we know pakistan can give u surprize anytime so i am mentally prepared for any upset.

This is going to be a red hot match one way or the other. Will curious to see how BD players behave against Pakistan compared to how they did against India.

The real test is today for the Pakistan U19 team. All the experiments are done, and now a team has to be selected who is in your mind to play semis and final. No need to try and test anymore. Put your best team out there and win it.

Remember, Bangladesh is the Asian champs and their boys are very aggressive as well.

Pakistan have under performed in Under 19 WC , they should have won at least two more titles.

Exactly choose a team that will play till the final

Pakistan, Bangladesh set to battle for remaining semi-final berth

Pakistan are well-placed to be the last team to qualify for the semi-finals in South Africa, but Asian rival Bangladesh can still overtake them.

Three of the four semi-finalists at the ICC Men’s U19 Cricket World Cup 2024 were decided on Friday, leaving one place up for grabs in the final four on the last day of Super Six action in South Africa.

Australia, South Africa and India have booked their place in the semis, with the race for the fourth and final spot in the knockout stages coming down to Saturday's match between Pakistan and Bangladesh in Benoni.

Pakistan are in the box seat to qualify as they currently sit in second place on the standings in Group 1, but Bangladesh can still overtake them with a resounding victory in the eagerly awaited contest.

With Pakistan currently holding a two-point advantage on Bangladesh and a decent buffer in net run rate (+1.064 in comparison to +0.348), Stuart Law's side know they will need to register a large win if they are to leapfrog their Asian rival.

While the exact equation needed for Bangladesh to catapult Pakistan will largely be reliant on who bats first and how many runs are scored, it's likely Bangladesh will need to win by more than 51 runs if batting first or chase down their victory target within 38.3 overs if batting second.

Any other result other than a comfortable Bangladesh victory will see Pakistan clinch the final spot in the semi-finals, with a second-placed finish in Group 1 the most likely outcome for Saad Baig's side.

If Pakistan do hang on and finish second in Group 1 they will face in-form Australia in the semi-finals, with the three-time tournament victors finishing top of Group 2 and unbeaten at the event so far.

South Africa finished second in Group 2 and will face the top team from Group 1 in the semi-finals, with reigning champions India their most likely opponent.

Pakistan U19 boys are working hard for this encounter. Let's see how it goes for them today. Really should win this one, this is the real test so far in this campaign.

Winning by 51 runs or more or chasing the score in 38 overs is not exactly a massive win , yea a big one but not massive and really is achievable had we play horrible cricket

To be fair Aus and Saf have really talented players who will be ready for their national side in couple of years , India collectively a good team but not any outstanding player same like Pakistan, I personally think Aus and Saf have a big chance to clinch the worldcup if any of Vidler or Maphaka or Stolk having absolute carnage day going on for them.

Pakistan vs. Bangladesh

Toss update:

Bangladesh Under-19 won the toss and elected to bowl first.

I expected more from Mohammad Zeeshan on these pitches. He was getting alot of bounce in SC so I thought he would be unplayable in SA.

Testing first over. Seeing off the new ball key here. Sun is out and it will get easier to bat later on.

Parchi Asfand is a loss of spot. A perfect example of favoritism

BD were showing ridiculous levels of aggression against India. Not that it helped them but still.

Playing like submissive kittens against PAK.

They were quite noisy the first 3-4 overs and bowled quite well, but the batsmen held their nerve. But they should not throw it away after the hard work initially.

BCB is even investing top class coaches on junior level We should do the same. What players can learn in-experience and unskilled former players like M Yousuf, Zunaid?

Lol , you are self trolling.

What an idiotic and brainless batsman!!!! Very poor eye-judgement

Why can't we invest first class Aussie/English coaches
I don't know about Junaid but Mohammad Yousuf is a good technical coach to have.

Had the best technique from among all the 90's generation Pakistani bats

But none of our formers have any ability to coach. Players like Miandad, Waqar etc failed miserably at past

Shamyl Hussain has been a disappointment again. So much potential yet nothing extraordinary results yet produced.

Oh boy.... What a shot this is from Azan...6 over covers.
He adjusted beautifully, looked like he was going to slog it to long on and then lofted it effortlessly the other way.

Good run rate for Pakistan now.

I think Mohammad Zeeshan will be dangerous on this wicket.

Too many lefties in the top-order lol

Beautiful shot, but could be run out?

This Borson guy needs to be calm down. Excessive excitement and aggression is not good for his health

Asfand should be rested today. Winning should be first priority instead of giving parchi all matches.

Worrying sign is "Our batsmen can't play spin not even junior level".

These U19 boys are reflecting the same feelings that the senior team has. Just cannot take the pressure and giving easy wickets.

Is Pakistan going to crash out of the world cup? It's their first pressure game of this WC

I really like Shahzaib. I see shades of fakhar in him. He’s going to make it big at international level

This guy Shahzaib is putting extra pressure on the batter at the other end. Not helping the cause at all with his sluggish batting.

Shahzaib Khan disappoints me today with 40 SR. I don't think any we have any decent batsman in junior level. Sorry state of Pakistan Cricket.

Exactly!!! Our batting culture of same stat pad personal milestone, no team man. They can never be great batsman.

He should put value to his wicket for sure but he is not going anywhere with the bat now. Looks like a sitting duck to be shot at on every ball. Not comfortable at all.

Can we even score 150? Bangladesh has to win this by 38 overs.

Shahzaib Khan in this match playing same as Asfand against UAE.

One of these batters needs to step up now. This is a total stop so far and a turtle-like batting is not helping them.

This is a tough pitch. If Shahzaib stays there he’ll compensate it. Our fans have absolutely no patience

Here you go. After eating out 10 overs, Shahzaib is gone. pathetic stuff

Pitch will be different when Bangladesh bat. There is no decent batsman in Pakistan team apart from Babar, Rizwan and Fakhar. Others are just average or rubbish. Bowling is ok but if batsmen can't score atleast 200-250 no bowlers can win you matches in these batting friendly pitches.

Bunch of useless players. Only perform against weak teams. Deserve to be kicked out. Another World Cup is gone.

Last game's MOM ahmad is gone. This is so disappointing so see. Just throwing away wickets.
