England to resume 290/3 in 55 minutes.

Pivotal day for both teams, one of them will need to make a move today if they want to force a result for this Test.

Is Azhar legspin or offspin? If he was part of the XI, would his bowling make a difference? I know he is part time but still.

I'm expecting Pakistan to come back and take quick wickets today.

If England gets out below 350-400, we have a strong chance of a Pakistan win.

So the English commies were right when they were complaining about the pitch. Its a road.

He was originally a legspinner and a lower order batsman. Has a good googly, and can pick a wicket here and there if given a chance

Cricinfo trolling continue.....

Another life for Cook... Pakistan must love watching him bat

Catching from both sides also to blame for the position the game is in.

Come on you're exaggerating, we all know he's overrated thats all. This is the same player who couldn't keep the ball off his pads against trundlers and part timers for 2 years. He is no where near "best" at his best he's just decent, that's all.

The stats show another story though. Yes he had a slump in form, but now he seems to be coming back to form.

This hurts my heart , please take a wicket!! Or Eng batsmen make a mistake and give it yourself!

Gotta feel for Wahab man, he gives his 100% every time but with little support from the other end.

Whole hearted spell as usual by Wahab. Has definately improved under Waqar.

Can this useless spinner turn the ball an inch? Even Moeen was getting more turn.

This pitch is perfect for Wahab Riaz. It is different that dropped-catches paints gloomy picture. This kind of pitch is what made Wasim and Waqar legend - perfect soil condition to exact reverse swing all day long if you have pace that can make reverse swing as weapon. Too bad, we have only one express bowler today.

One thing is for sure, Malik's innings was a lot more assured than Cook's. So many play and misses, he's rode his luck big time here.

Should be a square turner in the next match , I don't care who wins. This is disgusting cricket.

Its lush green outfield. Not ideal for reverse swing

You need little bit luck to score the big inning. As Malik fan, i am still in shock the way Malik has played two days in a row after no-ball lifeline. That being said, Cook is back in form for the entire series which will make this series more interesting to watch.

I blame england as well, at least paks innings was entertaining, mailk and shafiq were hitting sixes fours.

I am talking about the pitch condition, not outfield which has little relevant to the pitch factor.

Heat, slow pitch and low bounce makes it perfect conditions for reversing the ball to yorker.

It was outside the crease, not to mention umpire's call. Understandable why Misbah was hesitated for review at first.

Cant give those lbws out, he was so far down, ball swinging also. But then again this pitch is keeping soo loww.

I thought the Wahab review was very good for caught down the leg slide. There was more evidence in that than misbahs decision which went against us

Good news is i stand corrected. That means we have the whole day to maximize this opportunity. Don't get disheartened yet. :)

Well, looking at Cook, I am not too sure if he's back in form. He has generally struggled against Wahab and even against Imran when he has bowled around the channel. His feet movement at times has been very uncertain; walking into defensive prods/drives at times.

Our bowlers have tried extremely hard and with a little bit of luck - well we even don't need luck if we hold onto the opportunities created by the bowlers- we could have easily had England in a lot of strife.

Well if he was hit a bit low then he could have been given out considering it was so straight. Even with him coming down, it looked very very close.

Rightly said, he uncertain around off stump poking his bat every now and then which makes him vulnerable, as you pointed out if our incompetent lot hadn't had butter fingers and grasped the chances, things would have been alot different by now.

To Cook's credit, he didnt offer any opportunity till he had made 149. But like I said, I wont say he looks to be fully in touch.

Looking at both attacks, I would say our bowlers as a unit have bowled better than English ones. Even amongst fast bowlers Wahab and Imran have looked more threatening than English pace quartet.
