Its actually a bit ironical that some PPers here consider Fawad Alam jonty rodes of Pakistan fielding unit, when he came onto the field yesterday, some here were glamorizing him to be the best fielder in Pakistan and yet he dropped a simple dolly, LOL!

The ball was dying on him, he came running in from boundary, and was in motion when he reached the ball. Not a dolly surely, but he should have held it

Only two double centuries for England vs Pakistan, that too in medieval ages..

I've pretty much given up on this match, it'll end in a draw. Positives are Malik, Hafeez, Younis and Asad. Lets hope Yasir is back to 100% fitness for the 2nd test.

England cannot win this test match, so it is understand why they are slowing down to ensure this ends in draw leaving no mileage for Pakistan team to cash on and steal the victory from the jaws of the draw. England has become quite a perceptive of Pakistan cricket. :jf

I bet most people are feeling like this, watching this match:

They just don't have the ability to do a McCullum/Williamson on Pakistan.

Will be surprised if Cookie Monster doesn't get a triple and Root doesn't get a ton.

Root should go into Afridi mood and entertain the crowd, this is such a boring match...

Pak needed an early breakthrough through, can't see them taking 5 wickets before tea now, which is what they needed today really

England batsmen would take a lot of confidence from this match going into the 2nd Test. We hv made an unbelievable blunder by offering this road of a pitch in the very first match of the series. English batsmen wd hv been really low on confidence considering the debacle they had when the toured us last time. I think this test match wd hv a lot of say in the next two games. English batting wd do lot better now after this match.

England are better in these conditions. Their patient attritional style of cricket will work perfectly well for these conditions. They didn't beat India in India in 2012 for nothing.

It is day 4 and the pitch still looks like day 1. What a concrete slab.

The curator needs to be held accountable.

Or they don't have it in them to take the initiative and force the issue on Pakistan by scoring quickly, piling on runs thereby giving themselves a slight chance to win this match, but ofcourse they aren't conditioned that way to think positive, its not in their genes, all they think about and do is to "survive" at all costs.

There was never any chance to win after conceding 511.

You cannot force the pace on this track, because the ball is not coming on. Don't blame England, blame the curator for this soul-sucking road.

lamba phainta ... in for a long day wish Sarfraz would have caught that

Cdnt agree with u more however I think we still cd overcome them of we produce tracks favouring spin in next 2 test games. More so when England bowling is really thin in the spin dept as compared to the team that toured us in 2012. I thought Swann and monty were as good as Ajmal and rehman in that series. It's English batting that didn't come to fore that series. So I still feel we can choke them with spin.

Amir will do nothing on this pitch either, he is good but not the second coming of Jesus, as some people make him look to be.

Yup. Cricket on these pitches are about batting mistakes. The bowlers have little to work with, so the template followed is hope driven: hope that you win the toss and bat first and bat long, hope that the team batting second will get their brains scrambled after two days on the field, hope that they will make stupid mistakes under scoreboard pressure, and hope that you will have enough time on day 4 to set a target and get the opposition dismissed on day 5.
Previous matches have followed this template and the pitch escaped censure as Pakistan went on to win. But when you have competent batting teams this does not happen. A sullen part of me wanted Pakiatan to lose the toss and spend two days chasing the field and then buckle under pressure.

They could not form a working plan against Ajmal who was turning it both ways at speed. So they had to take risks against Rehman and got out to him too. But even Ajmal would be no good in this match. I don't know who would be.

Yeah yeah blame him all you want, its easy to find excuses than to accept your inability and ineptness.

I accept the managements mistake ofcourse but this pitch is just a bit too bad. Even out mangagement couldnt have asked for this! I know weve dropped catches etc but this pitch is a disgrace

Agreed even aju wd hv found it extremely difficult to dislodge this English batting line up on this pitch however having said that the pitches last time around were so heavily in favor of spin. We only had 2 centuries that series that too in the last game when the series was already decided so I think if we produce the pitches of same nature again this wd become a different ball game altogether . But the question is can we or do we want to ??

Had the ball not spun, Root would have been clean bowled. Getting there, Malik! :jf

The curator is not fault there. Heat condition is just like cloudy condition. At this month of the season, not ideal time to host cricket. Not easy to curate the balancing pitch during the heat condition. I expect the same from the rest of series as well. Should have hosted England in Nov/Dec of UAE. Pitches would have been lively.

I don't care what he says, he's a circus clown!

PCB has no control over pitch curation, never had and never will. It is all UAE, ironically, also happen to be headquarter of ICC. Sharjah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi have their own curators prepare to their traditional style of pitch.

PCB is not allowed to impart its input on the pitch factor nor the captain.

Id rather devilliers have the record of highest score on this ground. Hopefully we get cook out before that

I wouldnt be surprised if adil rashid kills the curator for killing his career

Wahab bowling a no ball. What a surprise. To be fair hes bowled his heart out

And I still remember how he wasn't given out when the ball had taken the middle of his bat and was caught behind by adnan but only for the umpire and he went on to score almost a triple century. It's the same game Tanveer Ahmed made his debut and almost rip through the proteas batting line l.

I was really hoping to get them 6-7 down by the end of this extended session but not to be  now there is no chance of winning this test match, its as good as dead.
I can see pak having to bat 80 overs to save this game if things don't change I the next session.
The game isn't dead

Interesting to see how long england look to bat on here till end of today? some part of tomorrow?

When Pakistan tried to force the pace, they lost four wickets quickly. Why do you think England could do otherwise?

The problem is not only the wicket but the outfield too. It is nice and green. If it was dry and abrasive then at least we might get some reverse swing going.

Anyway: batted Cheffy, now keep going! A no-result wicket has been prepared so might as well just get some batting practice in. Fill your boots, England batters.

This test match should be concluded as a draw now and save everyone the trouble of another day of playing this dead test.

Your Cheffy wouldn't have lasted 1 over against Yasir Shah let alone score a double, he may as well enjoy while it lasts because he's not scoring many when Yasir returns for the remainder of series.

What are you so angry about, do you think? Chill out. It's only cricket after all.

I wonder why pak fans are so arrogant .
