Imad playing at 8 is perfect - we need a long tail

Yes that would be good, but then we would need 10 overs from Malik.

And even then Sarfraz will probably have to bat at 7.

Babar, Azhar, Hafeez, Haris, Malik, Rizwan, Sarfraz, Imad & bowlers.

For the time being, No. 4 is the best spot for Sarf though.

Hafeez is doing what others should have done as well! He is attacking these mediocre spinners!

Cmon mmhs. Since the slow start hes rotating strike every ball. Hes woefully out of form

He is a squire peg in round hole. Even when he is in best of his form, he bats in Test with a single gear at No. 3. Today, he might get away because PAK is batting first & both his partners played aggressively. Imagine him getting out for after 20(40) sort of start & PAK chasing - he 'll make 220 tough chase. You should never play single dimension player in LO top 3 - not even 35 years back. Even those days, Viv, Zaheer, Greg or Gower were different at No. 3.

They have finally sent Sarf at 4, I would have taken Adil off now.

well said- expect in the modern day game (test, T20 or ODI)- you don't want single dimensional players.. I can't think of a single modern day great who plays a 1-D game

That was purely Azhar's fault. Don't know what he was saying to Hafeez, he stopped after he passed him. 4 out of 8, must be a problem.

I think, it was Azhar's fault, he was running to the near end - that single was on.

It was. Incidentally Sarfraz looks a different class to the rest of the Pakistan batsmen, looking to get runs from every ball.

took an hour or so to get Azhar out, but finally some positive batting from both ends

Pakistan's Game Plan :azhar

After 20 overs: 90/2 (RR in first 20 overs 4.5 RPO)
After 30: 140/3 (RR in overs 20-30 overs 5 RPO)
After 40: 200/5 (RR in overs 30-40 overs 6 RPO)
After 50: 280ish (RR in overs 40-50 overs 8ish RPO)

Over all innings run rate 5.6ish.

#Aggression :afridi :akhtar

I can see that being the plan anyway - whether it is executed or not - time will tell. A 280 target will make this game very interesting :irfan

Not too far off after the 1st 20 :afaq

Funny how Pakistan batsman struggle to score of these fast bowlers such as Willey, Woakes and Topley. Bring on Mustafizur.

How would have Sarfraz fared against Warne?

Probably better than any Pom for that 20 years. I am not sure about Thorpe, mainly because he was lefti & Warne struggles a bit against lefties, but man, they call Mike Gatting their best spin player since WW II, basically for a single shot - sweep; that's the standard for Sarf to beat.

Good move to have sirfraz in at 4, with him and hafeez in we should score quickly.

Azhar being run out wasnt that big a loss.

The problem with this strategy is that after the first ten the margin of error becomes really small and given the fragile nature of our bats and their mental incapability to handle pressure, more often than not they will eventually muck up either stage 2 or stage 3.

Too much risk involved in this type of strategy to begin with

Even a bit of panic between sarfraz and hafeez. Even though sarf is our best runner

Hmmm!

This guy is on a completely different level when it comes to playing spin!

These Pakistani batsman are so boring to watch. Always tuk-tuking. Truth hurts Mr King.

No one cares about your Mustafizur here.

Hafeez has scored 7 of his last 28 balls faced. What's going on.

Now I understand why some fans here hate Bangladesh and want them to lose.

Because today MoHa played exceptionally well in his 1st 25 ball; otherwise 70/2 was written on the wall. MoHa 'll not play like this every day; unfortunately that's not true for Azhar.

19 runs from last 5 overs, need to pick up scoring rate here.

The English players seem to have hidden wings! They are flying around in the ground! ICC must take notice of the hidden wings :P

Sarfraz should be the permanent number four in the one-day team.

I hope that he doesn't end up getting demoted down the order again sooner or later.
