India against India 2005

vs Aus 2004

vs SA 2007

Younus performed better

He has lost his reflexes but that doesnt mean he was always poor. YK was much better than moyo other than Moyo's 2006 golden patch

MoYo's 83 in the third Test in SA in 2006/07 was our best innings of the series. Antonio destroyed us and our total score was what 150?

In 2004, MoYo produced a masterclass at the MCG. Younis didn't do any of that.

He played well in the second Test in SA but Inzamam in the first innings and Kamran in the second innings played the better knocks.

I have nothing against Younis, but his legacy is of a batsman who in spite of all his stats, hasn't been good enough at any point to be in the top 2-3 batsman of his time even for a year.

Again it's on Misbah, Hopefully Hafeez carries on can't depend on the likes of Asad and Sarfaraz.

YK didnt look at ease at all in middle.

Misbah, Asad and Sirfraz left... massive task now for pakistan to get any sore of match winning lead. we need atleast another 200 runs here.

Imran Khan could have been handy on this wicket, the way ball nips in.

You really can't do much with those kind of reversing deliveries. The most obvious shot to play to a delivery outside off is a leave but when it's reversing, you're gone.

74/3 and needing atleast one big partnership tomorrow if not 2!

YK's innings won us the match (2nd if i recall correctly)

YK's overall series stats were better

So all of a sudden Hafeez has better test credentials and is an epitome of first class then the two blokes who have been consistent test performers for the past 2 years

What if Rahat Ali ends up with a double hundred? Like Jason Gillespie :srt

230 more runs will be perfect. Hafeez, Misbah, Shafiq and Sarfaraz should be able to score that many, with help from Riaz and Shah, I think.

SO most likely England will not chase 200!!!:facepalm: We have only Misbah whom we can rely one. Both Shafiq and Sarfraz not very reliable consistent these days

Once again I would blame our cowardly approach against Anderson and Broad. Hafeez is the only one who has looked to score runs and he's still out there.

I hope Rashid bhai and Moeen bhai take wickets here but we build a good enough lead.

What? Hafeez, you were supposed to protect Rahat, no?

Not a chance. I would take another 150.

Hafeez has looked to score and rotate strike and has done well u can just block and block on this wicket.

Younis made a 60 odd in the 4th innings of the one test we won in SA in 2007. Him n kamis partnership won us the game. After the rest of the bats collapsed in that 4th innings

How did Rahat manage to get 35 as his highest score?

He's batting like a proper tail ender.

We are effectively 4 down for 74. Game back in England's favor.

I sometimes don't even understand why the heck do we play so timid cricket. Isn't this supposed to be our stronghold OUR FREAKING FORTRESS ????

But there are always other who play better innings than him, both in his team and in other teams. That's why he has never stood out.

I'd still rate a gritty match winning knock over a stylish knock that doesn't help the team win the game.
If only he played in AUS and England in 2010 then we could see if he was worthy of the test ATG tag or not. Next year he will be embarrassed in England for sure.
