England have won the toss and decided to bat first.

Pakistan team: Azhar Ali, Ahmed Shehzad, Mohammad Hafeez, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Rizwan, Sarfraz Ahmed, Anwar Ali, Wahab Riaz, Yasir Shah, Mohammad Irfan.

England team: Jason Roy, Alex Hales, Joe Root, Eoin Morgan, James Taylor, Jos Buttler, Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Adil Rashid, David Willey

We have had a funny record to lose on Fridays. Friday's havent gone well with us in the past decade or so.
 
My crystal ball (No innuendos) is back :)

England will win toss and bat. They'll post 240-260.

Hope I'm wrong :))

Looking at how Sami Aslam was treated, wouldn't be surprised if Zafar is dropped from the squad too. Awful management, Zafar is clearly the better ODI bowler.
 
Dont understand why Zafar has been dropped, he should have been kept in and anwar ali should have been dropped.
 
Ugh another run chase. Though at this stage don't think it matters anymore which way round we bat.
 
Opening pair of Azhar and Shezhad, that means they will eat up 80%+ dots balls as per usual when they bat.

Its probably best batting line up we could hope for with sqaud we have.
 
They should have dropped Anwar Ali but Zafar deserved another go.
 
Pakistan once again doing the same thing with new comer Babar Azam. His batting order is not fix and if by chance he fails to deliver they will say we gave him 4 matches he didnt perform up to the mark

Then we ask why pakistan is at number 8 in ODI

Sohaib maqsood scored 50's at number 3 .. . but how can the management see a player rising in pakistan cricket they need to bring him down from his actual position and force him to perform down the order.
 
Dropping Gohar and losing the Toss, match very much in favour of England. Any score over 220 and Pakistan will panic while chasing if they don't put on a speciall performance today.
 
harsh on Zafar. performed better than all our bowlers and the clueless captain couldn't give overs to Anwar Ali, why drop Zafar for Yasir
 
Glad to see Shehzad back, too much talent to sit out on bench, I don't care what anyone says but he has talent and is far better than his replacements. You just don't leave out a batsmen with 10 international centuries and replace him by some pretty mediocre hacks aka Iftikhar, Bilal Asif, Babar, Shan Masood etc. Glad to see some sense prevailing in Pakistan's management by finally bringing him in. Lets hope he delivers!
 
Though, I agree with most of the posters here, Zafar shouldn't have been dropped after just one match where he impressed with both bat and ball, if anything Anwar Ali should have been axed as he's poor in both departments and doesn't merit a place in the lineup, really pathetic from coach and captain, poor planning and management.
 
Zafar is ten times the player Anwar Ali can ever be judging by the last match, has a decent technique to survive and slog plus he's pretty handy with the ball, can't understand the decision behind dropping him after just one game. No wonder Pakistan is ranked at 8 in ODIs, clueless captain and support staff.

Looking at Zafar's stats in the last game. Pretty sure Anwar Ali did much better in his debut game against a better side and in foreign conditions.
I.e South Africa.
 
Why was Yasir Shah dropped? Wasn't he dropped for poor show? Why is he back again? For another poor show?
 
Apparently there's a bit of grass on the wicket so that could be why Anwar Ali has been retained so we play 3 seamers.

It's irrelevant in the context, he has never looked comfortable in batting because he has a horrible technique, can't even defend properly and mostly feast on the leg side with long hops. Zafar is a compact player and has potential to become a decent allrounder, why shatter his confidence by dropping him after one game where he performed upto standards?

Definitely Yasir is an attacking option while Gohar is fit for junior level cricket. Too early for him at the International stage.

What position will babar bat. This has to be one of yasirs last odi chances. Needs to perform!
 
Plus the less said about his bowling the better, the only time he gets a wicket is when a batsman tries to play something stupid and gets caught. He has the least amount of LBW or caught behind wickets because batsmen find it easy to play his trundling pace with so seam or swing.

If he is a youngster he will have to get used to this injustice. It was an average performance. 1 was a good delivery the other delivery was a full toss gimmie that did not deserve a wicket.
15 runs is highly average for a talented allrounder. Nthing extraordinary for my liking.

Yasir went for 70 for no wicket in his last ODI. That nullifies everything you said.
 
Plus 7 overs for 42 runs and 2 wickets. Those are stats we bash Moeen Ali for. He has to honestly stop bowling those loosners down the leg side if he has any chance of succeeding at the International level.

Youre right. Zafar is way better in odis than yasir. (Although i desperately hope yasir translates his form)

He didn't get a spinning track like Gohar did.
Leg spinners are attacking options. Zafar gohar got tonked around on a pitch on which Yasir could've gotten a 5'fer.

Really dont understand why we use Anwar Ali in these conditions he offers very little with the ball.
 
Well TBH this bowling attack will be demolished by Indian batsman, can foresee another double ton from Rohit against Anwar and Co, its better and wise for PCB not to agree to the series rather than being humiliated by arch-rivals.

Babar is a hack? Mate you must be an expert
 
Gohar lacked basic bowling skills. Was struggling with a left and right combination. And completely lost the plot once Taylor and Butler were batting. Despite getting 2 wickets he looked nowhere near comfortable bowling and continued bowling loose deliveries. For a spinner he has got a pretty short height and that causes predictable bounce for his spinning deliveries. Not a long term prospect for me.

I am home - absolutely free - streaming sites available - beautiful sunday afternoon which would be ideal to watch the match but not because this series is super boring.

Also, Shehzad ... again, why?? :(
 
The moment Englishmen cross 220, you can as well turn off your TVs and do something else than to be disappointed later as chasing 200+ targets isn't Pakistan's cup of tea despite the bowling quality of opposition.
 
No movement whatsoever on this grassy pitch ,there should at least be some early movement but these bowlers are skillless
 
Look how well england openers rotating the strike, wait till later when Shezzy and Azhar eat up dot balls galore.

He's the most hyped and glorified player on PP, can't understand the fascination with him. At best he's an average batsman, doesn't have any impressive technique to be fair. I would take Shehzad over him any day of the week.

If babar is given a set position in team and given a run in the side he will perform.
 
Roy seems to be hitting the ball to fielders a lot today which is a good thing for pakistan!
