These two must take us to 200. Asad don't think will score big this innings. Maybe a 30 or 40.

Not sure about Sarfraz, but Shafiq definitely yes, he's the last batsman you can count on in tough situation, and his performances of late aren't impressive either, one good innings per series.

100 in SA from 28-4.
100 in SL drawing the test.
100 in SL adding over 100 with the tail this year in Aug.
100 vs SA trying to save the test in Dubai.

He has his problems but he has played some true gems in there. Certainly no mug under pressure. A lot better than Misbah in such situations. Case in point the tour to SA, three tours of SL.

it is so annoying for fast bowler to see misbah playing that defensive shot :)

no feet movement no body movement... just put ur bat forward to block it like he is bowling at 30 MPH

Shafiq isn't tail, but yes can't count on him to score most of the times under pressure. I hope we don't get to that stage though.

:))

King totally negated Mitchell Johnson and his fear using his solid defence. Nothing's more demoralizing for a fast bowler.

Haha yeah, running and sweating at 45C bowling their heart out just to see a block shot without any grace

Got to hope YK doesn't now try and start to show he can be an ODI player, and play ridiculous shots.

I dont think Pakistan will cross 300 in first inning...I hope I am very wrong but signs are there.

100-3 looks better then 99-3.

Now come on old guys. Make up for your terrible shots last test. Both needs tons and beyond

Both senior players need to show good responability and score big here and not throw it away like the 2nd inns of 1st test.

YK average at 54 now.

I suggest him to retire after this series as it will only go down......

Just saw Malik's wicket. Well not much his fault i guess. The fielder was sharp.

That's what happens when you spend more time on Twitter, than on practicing short pitched stuff.

Malik is the batting version of Mohammad Sami, once he gets under pressure, he collapses mentally.

did Malik slapped you or something ??? read your posts utter crying without much logic.

PTV Sports' live coverage is some seconds ahead of Ten Cricket. But PTV Sports has many commercials compared to Ten Cricket.

Short pitched stuff??

There was nothing short about that ball.

Slap*

Doesn't he spend retweeting posts on twitter most of the time. Reading and commenting on articles about him. Saw Younis Khan today, early morning he was practicing on short pitched stuff. That is committment for you.

We have been exposed in this series. Congratulations to England.

Our best hope is to draw this series now. Lol at people suggesting that we are a top 3 Test team.

We are comfortably below SA, NZ and England - the top 3 Test teams.

Younis Khan wouldn't be Younis Khan if he was on twitter retweeting every praise post he got from all 4 corners of Pakistan and beyond. Lessons for some wannabee test players.

Younis has been surprisingly courageous against pace in this innings. Hasn't chickened out like he usually does.

He will have to get a big one here for us to establish a substantial first innings score.

Too small a sample size to judge a player's credibility to handle pressure in tough situations, his failures outweigh his achievements, besides his last innings century against Kiwis in a losing cause I've never seen him in assertive mode imposing himself on bowlers. He's a very timid, meek and reserved character never taking the initiative to step on the accelerator irrespective of his score or stay on the crease. To top that off he's the worst possible starter in our lineup, more so than YK.

Well Malik comfortably timed the ball well but got the direction wrong.

Yea some players have courage :)

Also below Australia , in bouncy conditions :)

Where are the people who said 'Clouderson' will average 40 in the UAE? Some of our fans have shown a lot of arrogance prior to this series and now have feet in their mouths.

Yes we trounced Australia but failed to beat NZ after that, and we should be looking at that series not the Australian one.

Yes, Exposed.

When Malik is getting a double and Hafeez a hundred.

And its not like any of those teams have ever drawn or lost a game at home. A test we played without Azhar and Yasir.

Its England's best hope to draw the series not Pakistan's.

It is a shame how our so-called senior and star batsmen look amateurish against pace.

3 Wickets down and we exposed :P :D

Our success in the UAE is overrated. The 3-0 whitewash of England in 2012 was freakish because it was a very competitive series, and we have failed to beat South Africa, New Zealand and nearly lost a series to Sri Lanka.

Australia are hopeless in these conditions.

NZ and England are the most competitive teams away from home after SA and we are struggling to get the better of them.

Rashid bhai into the attack, much to the relief of our classy duo.

have no idea what you mean, pak are lookign solid and hard to beat

Negativity at its best :yk

I think people confuse amateur with ugly. Younis is not that good against pace but misbah (esp a few years ago) was good against pace. The reason is he plays the ball late. He looks ugly but he has his ways

Bhat Aijaz: "Pen down my words, or take a screenshot. Younus khan will score a hundred and will become first Pakistani to score 9000 runs. Actually i have seen it in my dream last night # Andrew Miller " You read it here first

So four tons for a no.6 is not enough to determine his credentials under pressure.

But some faliures are??

Like I said he has his problems but in no way is he a dud in pressure situations.

Being assertive and dominant are totally different things. True, he hasnt shown any of those attributes.

Neither can dominate pace and are uncomfortable.

Rashid will go for runs , but gets wickets , may be batters try and be aggressive against him.

Bhai bolnay do inko.

Asad Shafiq is a gem we all know it. He's fantastic for a no.6 batsman.

Will move to no.4 as soon as Younis retires. Azhar and Asad are the rightfully heir to those positions.

and what is the problem with those who re-tweet posts on twitter ??? he is scoring runs getting wickets winning matches for Pakistan I really dont mind him re-tweeting as many tweets as he like if he continue with his good cricket form.

May be Younis got time to practice after planning his next captaincy dream and ODI comeback, but dont blame Malik for this.

However, Misbah is much better than Younis against pace.

When was last time Misbah actually scored some good runs and by good runs I dont mean 50 odd here and there ?

So NZ, SA and Eng havent had such situations in their home conditions??

Forgot what SL did in Eng??

Regarding this series, still two tests to go. And I havent seen anything to suggest that we wont get the better of Eng over the course of these two tests.

Is this a Younis vs Malik thread?? I can see Malik's stats really justify your claims. He's ATG material already.

Really? Barely got away with it in Abu Dhabi and are now 100/3.

i wouldnt be concerned about that, it was psychologically a difficult situation to bat, still scored 500 in the first innings and they didnt lose sooooo...

I'm talking about the overconfidence that has creeped into the fans, not comparing how we fare compared to other teams.

Our success here is overrated because we are not as invincible as we like to think. Teams have done well here and we have had numerous batting collapses.
