Second Test between Australia (445 & 89/7d) and India (260 & 8/0) ends in a draw as the 5-match series is level 1-1

Break the bones break the shoulder.

Break them like they have been broken mentally.
Why not. That is how cricket should be played. Tough cricket.

India hopefully can get shami back along with prasidh and harshit to return the favour.

Siraj shouldn't have come in earlier. Bumrah or Akash could have hung in better, which would have allowed Jadeja to remain patient instead of going for an unnecessary slog. Poor cricket, especially when only a few runs r needed to avoid the follow-on

Jadeja should have hang in and clear the deficit. It would have been his most memorable knock. Now it is just a good knock.

If Rohit had a brain, he would declare right now.

Get an unexpected 10 overs in vs McSweeney and Khawaja.

I am still sticking to my og prediction - the only test match Aust will win this series is the pink ball test.

Still lots of time left so indian fans hold on!

Light is not enough so they are going to off.

Its end of the play for today .

Australia we are coming back to the MCG with full Josh so beware .

How's the Josh @Rajdeep and other indian fans

Celebrations started in the Indian dressing room as Bumrah and Akashdeep avoided the follow-on.

This is frustration for salty fans . I just loving it .

1-1 is likely results going to the boxing day test .

:shh:kp
Lol, no hard feeling here. I see the game and comment on that. My first post today was that it was not the first time India's lower order are figting it out and saving India. Seen this many times before, credit where it's due.

But kohli bhai what are u doing? This is not who fishes better, take deeps bat and go from ball one. No point in u going for seabass fishing off side off

Australia chose Perth, Pink Ball and Brisbane as first three tests expecting to go 3-0 up by the time MCG and Sydney comes up. These grounds has less pace and bounce and suits sub continent teams. If India can manage to go 1-1 in the boxing day test, game on from there.

Shameless Rohit should retire from Tests now to make sure India go with competitive spirits to the next games! This team still has the power to fight, Bumrah should captain the rest of the series...

I remember we were 1-1 going into Melbourne in the famous 2003/04 series as well.

Australia can still bat for 15 overs and give India 60 overs . They can do that.
Cummins and Starc already bowled 45+ overs combined in this innings

Their legs are already tired so india can easily draw this test if they play sensible cricket .

They didn’t want to take risk and leave all this to Siraj who cannot bat sensibly. Good decision think and worked for us. If Bumrah had gotten out we would have folded.

If there's no rain tomorrow, Most likely India will be given a target of 320 in 70 overs. Will India go for it?

How did New Zealand manage to win all three test matches against India, must be fixed :butt

No. Indian lower order for a change did not bail India out. SO they lost. INdian batsmen average in the 30s at home for the last 5 years or so. Mostly tailenders saved us at home against every team. One time they didn't save us India lost.

Yes, it worked now, but Jadeja could have probably scored the remaining runs if someone had hung in there with him.

If Australia gives 300 runs to chase I think India shoudl go for it.
Think they will, but it’ll be interesting to see India’s approach if there’s no rain around. I wouldn’t write off impossible things cricket always has a way of surprising us.

Is Australia confident enough to set India a target of 300-320 in 65-70 overs, especially with one bowler short? It would be a bold declaration, considering the risk of an Indian counterattack on a decent pitch.

I would caution fans to not celebrate too early about avoiding follow on and possibly avoiding concerning this test.

This team is more than capable of being 30 AO in 10 overs something.

I'm surprised that Australia haven’t managed to beat India at home in a single red-ball Test over the past 6-7 years. It speaks volumes about India's performance down under even when they're down, which is no easy feat at all.

They're a bowler short and the pitch is still good to bat on as the tailenders showed but anything is possible either bowled out for low scores or even a win if everything falls in place.

Day 4: Stumps - India trail by 193 runs
India Avoid Follow-On as Bumrah and Akash Deep Lead Defiant Stand

India took a significant step toward salvaging the third Test in Brisbane, as Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep stitched together an unbeaten last-wicket partnership of 39, ensuring India crossed the follow-on mark. With only one day left, Australia's hopes of forcing a result took a hit, compounded by the absence of Josh Hazlewood due to a calf strain.

Hazlewood's injury left Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc to shoulder the bulk of the workload, bowling 60% of the 74.5 overs in India’s innings. Cummins led the attack with four wickets, while Starc claimed three, but the pair couldn't prevent India from reaching the crucial 246 mark.

KL Rahul anchored the innings with a composed 84 after surviving a dropped chance off the first ball of the day. Ravindra Jadeja added a brilliant 77, taking full advantage of a softened ball and Australia's depleted attack. However, when Cummins dismissed Jadeja, India were still 33 short of avoiding the follow-on.

It was then that Akash Deep (27*) and Bumrah (10*) showcased remarkable grit and skill. Akash Deep took charge, smashing a six and two boundaries off Cummins, steering India past the follow-on mark. The day ended prematurely due to bad light, with Australia ruing missed opportunities, particularly Steven Smith’s drop early in the day.

Despite Cummins’ early breakthroughs, including Rohit Sharma and Nitish Kumar Reddy, India’s resilience—led by their lower order—has kept the series alive, leaving Australia frustrated heading into the final day.

Rain and the fight from the last pair has saved india here i think.
Australia needed another good pacer here with Hazlewood out lyon has been a passenger in the three games.
