South Africa vs India | 2nd test | Ahmedabad | 3/4/2008 to 7/4/2008

I guess that's enough..isnt it?

Three days left....no need to declare.

Just go out tomorrow with all guns blazing and get as many runs as possible. I think the best thing to do now would be to rub as much salt into the Indian wounds as possible. Let's see a complete humiliation, a complete battering of epic proportions.

It's already a humiliation of epic proportions. The only thing that can save India is rain. :D

also a good batting performance. we can still bat well and earn a draw

I appreciate ur positive thinking .I wish our batters think the same .

Sunny for the next three days.
well I guess its 1-0 for South Africa then

South Africa are in the driving seat. Still if India can bat well, they can earn themselves a draw.

This is the highest lead ever between India and SA matches. :boom: India vs SA

I think Smith would be really smart to declare overnight.

It's a half our early start, it rained yesterday and the grass is still there - so that means 2.5 hours of the new ball swinging and seaming like crazy.

Saffie bowlers good use that to get the key wickets of Sehwag and Dravid ... and after that the rest of them will just fold.

Conversely if he doesn't declare .. his team might last the first session and get a few runs .. but then Sehwag will come back in good conditions and may go on to another huge score.

Strategically, Smith's best option is to declare overnight and use the early bowler freindly conditions to pick up key Indian wickets.

yep the best chance for smith to get key wickets of sehwag dravid and laxman will be in the morning after than it will be a belter for batting

smith should declare overnight

Smith shouldn't delcare.

They should make as many runs as they can to make a huge lead.

I don't think Smith wants to bat again.

He's looking for an innings defeat.

Oh I'm tired of seeing my team getting innings defeats. It will be nice to see the best batting team in the world getting Innings defeat...

yea im not so sure but india hasnt lost by an innings since 2002 at colombo against sl and tat time also sachin didnt play

if an innings defeat can straighten out the players then so be it

I think so too and SA with ABD still going could be good for some 50-100 more. At some stage late today the pitch may also start coming in the equation and the more SA can push India in that pitch equation zone the better for them.

With 3 days to go SA hold all cards so they can do it which ever way they want.

Agree with Kashif- SA should declare overnight.

Almost an impossible task for IND unless Sehwag can score another 300.

it is an impossible task but remember saf didnt declare yet
if they bat then all the advantage in the morning for the bowlers would go away

and steyn and ntini would have some trouble getting sehwag or dravid or laxman out

I think Smiffy wants to psychologically scar India by winning and inflicting as much humiliation as possible. Try and get a mental grip over them.

To me, more than the sledging, this is what mental disintegration is - totally pwning the opposition and crushing them. It's not everyday that you manage to roll someone for 76, so make the most of the opportunity.

I think he may keep batting, unless the pitch is a real zinger and he feels he can knock India over for below 400.

i don't think such strategy work against India.. they might end up winning but doesn't mean they will put India out of confidence for 3rd test.. History says that too..

The psychologist in me says that you make them take the field and make them feel a little hurt before coming off to bat.

i think they are quite hurt already.

conversely if they wipe out the tail quickly .. the quick wickets might give them a little mental boost.

well regardless .. the show starts 30 minutes early today .. so it wont be long know before we learn smith's intentions ...

and considering that smith is nowhere near as bright as moi .. i think he will bat on :p

Smith's pretty sharp....in a cricket sense . Stop hating on Smith ...he's a throw back to tough cricketers of old . Say what you like about him but he makes his presence felt .

not haten on him ... just joking.

actually we thought that malik could turn out to be like smith ..

Smiffy was never the sharpest crayon in the box. And as for being a tough cricketer of old, wasn't he one of the ones having a public sook about Ozzie sledging in the SA-OZ series in 2002? Give the poor oke a Kleenex!:87:

Though I have to give SA credit - they didn't threaten to cancel the tour like India did. :))

(Howzat! Insulted 2 groups of fans again at the same time lol :))) )

ha ha ha...two sixes of the first over...good postiive stuff from india .

Related to racist taunts at ntini . He was 23 for f sakes .

Ball baten bat a few times already . With a bit of luck S.a can get a few quick wickets here .

Just admitted that every one has problem with your guys. You know who is the bad kid in the pit.

No, it was because Haydunce, Warne and the slips fielders were being MEAN to him apparently.

Smith said Hayden followed him to the crease at Cape Town and "stood on the crease for about two minutes telling me that I wasn't good enough".

Mid-pitch collision

He also claimed fast bowler Lee had threatened to "kill me" after a mid-pitch collision and even claimed McGrath, whom Smith described as a "grumpy old man", subjected him to verbal taunts from the third man boundary.

Smith said the ring of Australia's close-in fielders were incessant in their verbal barrages, invariably using expletives to strengthen their invectives.

After one Warne diatribe, Smith said he looked to umpire Rudi Koertzen for support "and he just shrugged his shoulders as if to say, 'I know it's rough, kid, but that's the way it is'."

Geez, what a moaner! :87:

Anyway, back to the cricket. How long to you guys think Jaffer will last?

wow good decision from billy for once .. ball hit the pad .. but knowing billy he probably didn't even hear a sound !

If they can get past the new ball india might have a chance..for now they look in big trouble .

Sehwag ggggooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeeee

7.2 Ntini to Sehwag, OUT
V Sehwag lbw b Ntini 17 (20b 1x4 2x6) SR: 85.00

India 1/31

Anyone noticed the Ntini and smith Brokeback mountain connection ?

Off the bat but never mind.

Can we have additional confirmation from others that it was off the bat and that Sehwag was in fact thiefed out?

i don't know why the commies are arguing about over that LBW .. bat was quite a bit behind the pad .. and it clearly hit pad first.

Ntini bowling over the wicket wide off from an angle, bat and pad close. You know what it will hit first.

yeah i was wondering the same thing. Don't think Sehwag can complain too much about that

It would have been much better if that was the other useless in the other end .

side angle replay shows bat was a foot behind the pad .. but these lying commentators are trying to pretend like sehwag got a bad call .. wow they are HORRIBLE LIARS.

I dont know what the commentaters are on about...it wasn't close to vat first...clearly pad...no doubt at all .

whatever he is gone . I have no problem personally as the umpire is not Thief Bucknor.

straight forward decision to be honest here... bat was behind the pad as shown by the side replays

These guys are world class bowlers on such pitches

...brilliant shot by Jaffer after making a mess of the short one

saffer said:
********..clearly pad first .

How can multiple people watch the same event and see different things? Unless it's excuse-creation time? :13:

No independent confirmation or denial available unfortunately.

Which commies are moaning about it?

Why is Jaffer still there? How many chances has he provided to the Safs?

right .. the only question is why were the commies so fervently maintaining that it was a questionable decision .... strange .. real strange.

Dravid looking good and showing the other batsmen on how to play on such a pitch.

Jaffer just not good enough against the short one

Morkel building up good pace again . I don't think it'll be long before we see him crank it up to the mid 150's again .

indian batsmen seem to have a much better mindset this innings ... they wont get bungled out for a low score ... but the ball is doing too much for them to chase down the saffie total.

Decent bloke he may be ,can't stand him in the commentary box.

It'll flatten out soon as the ball gets older .I fancy india should get close and over the score .

He was in his zone in that innings! I don't think he mistimed a single ball that day.

Yes ,he played beautifully that day ,can't deny that .

saffies obviously haven't watched the video of how yasir arafat got jaffer cheaply twice after he score a double - u got to pitch the ball up to him.
