South Africa vs India | 2nd test | Ahmedabad | 3/4/2008 to 7/4/2008

Morkel's average speed today is 146 . That's quicker than anyone else around right now .
 
The Jaaps are ekeing away at India - I reckon this will be done in 4 days with a home innings defeat for India. Geez that will be a bit of a psychological scar.

Don't think Laxman has as good a technique as Dravid. I would much rather watch Laxman on a flat pitch.

i'm calling it like I see it . South africa batted with ease on this pitch when the ball got older .day 3 pitch is always best for batting too . We will probably win though...goes without saying .

Laxman is going to go down swinging.
 
saffies achieved their objectives that session .. got the key wickets .. laxman looking good .. but the pitch is still to lively for india to mount any serious challenge.
 
After some early hiccups, Laxman in ominous form. Bumpcatcher on the other hand looks like he's going to get out soon.

These two going nicely now and the pitch looking quite docile . India need to make these next two parternships count if they will make something out of this game .

50 up for ganguly . As long as these two are there india aren't dead yet .
 
India need Ganguly and Dhoni to put on a very big partnership of about 300. Then Pathan, Kumble and co need to provide some fight in the lower order and make 150 runs between them. India are not out of this game yet.
 
Test match is pretty much gone, SA played well there was no crusade to go against India this time it was fair and square. None of this bull shi* about sporting track etc cause we have performed better against more hostile attacks on harder tracks. We are in this state because of some pathetic batting in the first inningss..
 
I'll only admit india are gone when one of these guys are out . India are only 200 behind now .
 
India are giving a bit of a fight, 87 run partnership now and only 206 runs behind.
 
The only problem I now have is, Ganguly will be in the side for another 10 test matches keeping young promising kids away from the side that is more painful than this loss that wll happen...

India are still -190 odd for 4. Only going to be one result here.
 
Only 186 runs behind with 6 wickets left. India still needs these two to bat on after suprassing the target and the lower order need to contribute. The pitch is flat, but there is still too much time left.

Why do you want Ganguly to go? Just because of age, is it?
In test he's doing pretty well I think and must be persisted if he can continue the good work...

how does that work?

If India score 500 that gives South Africa about 82 to win. No idea where you got the 200 from.
 
Ganguly gone! Dhoni and Pathan need a parnership of over 250 now for India having any chance in this game.

Why the sudden diplomacy? I believe that you bet your house with somebody that SA wouldn't win a game, will you be honouring that bet?

they did have a huge partenership against pakistan in 2005, pretty similar situation ....am still hopefull! :)

The game is not over untill the last wicket is taken or the last run is scored. Simple as.

It is tough. India are still 157 runs behind, but one big partnership can give India some kind of a boost, India needs these two to get past the 157 run barrier and then make some more runs and the last four batsmen need to contribute making atleast over 100 runs between them. Kumble and Harbhajan can bat! they have fifties between them against tough attacks!

Diplomacy ? It aint no diplomacy it is just saying well played, and accepting it. Oh I would love to give that house away but the taker OZ pride wont take it since it is in Broadmeadows :6: , looks like I owe him a drink instead...

Plus it isnt in my style to do a dissappearing act like our chocker supporter here is known for when his chockers choke...

Dhoni gone and with that wicket the game is preety much in the bag for South Africa. Poor batting in the 1st innings costing India badly.
 
Game has been in the bag for a long time bar some wishful thinking/fantasy.

Only question is if the Indians can be knocked out today. 17 overs to go and 4 wickets to get.
 
Eventhough I am not a big India basher ala others like Kasif and Hash infact I rather like their team but somehow this test match makes me go :)) :))) :)))

Even i liked the Indian team . I never thought they were good , but i liked them anyway . Then they started hyping themselves up and talking themselves out and trying to run the world of cricket , get umpires fired etc and I lost respect for them . South Africa have taught them a good lesson and let's hope they can be more humble in the future or at least make sure they can walk the walk before talking the talk .
 
I'm a bit confused as to why Smith isn't taking the new ball. Just take it and finish them off, come on Smithy

We are chokers in almost ALL world cups but probably best your team makes the second round before you get too critical of others. But anyway , what's that got to do with anything else ? We are the number one odi team and soon the number 2 test team and other than world cups there is nothing "chocking" about us . Take a look at the game now and tell me exactly whose chocking?

anyway, I don't mind....keep calling them chockers...just try and keep your insults relevant or they seem a little random and silly and lose their effect with the result you looking a little stupid and desperate .

in the context of the cricket game being played i'm struggling to keep them open....playing you is boring ...too easy . I can't wait until we play someone better and more challenging like Australia .

Can you give a source that India started hyping themselves up?

Get the umpires fired? Bucky had a horrible test match in Sydney when India were dominating the game, it almost looked a draw untill the umpires got Dravid and Ganguly decisions wrong, India got robbed in that test match, over simple decisions. Anyway that's history.

India has done well in recent times to make it to number 2 in the test table, we have challanged the worlds best team home and away and correct me if I'm wrong, have also got the best away record, bar from Australia.

India are chocking in this test match, but this is just one game. Now India are meant to be one of the world's worst.

i agree with you saffer. a few years ago i hated south Africa coz of smtih and their attitude. i hated SA arrogance. but now, smith an co look like saints against this current Indian team. cant wait when we vs you!
 
Sreesanth having some fun. Just a matter of time now before South Africa wrap it up. They deserved to win it. Hopefully India can get it back together in the final test match.

Yeah, I think they will try hard in Kanpur for drawing the series. SA deserved this win after poor show by our batsmen in first innings. I still can't believe these are the same players played at Perth and actually won the test match. :O :D
 
It's all over. SA 1-0 after the second test match. Hopefully, India wins the next match and draw the series :)
