gr8 innings by younis....always knew he had the talent..lets hop he now finds the consistency to perform on regular basis...

note extremely negative bowling by spinners brought down the scoring rate..also spinners were getting harder and harder to get away which is good news for paks..plus one kept very low when kumble was bowling...

i think we have a reasonable chance in this test match...!!!!

Agree with the comments made by the above posters, you guys shouldve had atleast 620 or so with 20 over to bowl at India, pretty slow batting.. eitherway well played by Pak

immy69, so its the spinners fault that pakistan batted so boring?

:))) :))) :))) :)))

sami gave 3 runs in 3 overs whilst razzaq gave 23 runs in 3 overs..

what have we come to, razzaq opening bowling for us..this is truly very sad

no aj. and its just as well they did bat for as long as they did because owise india may have been 120 for no loss (as noddy said!).

spinners tied them down and when it came to slogging they did not last long so you can say that yk batted very well and management got it right!

anything else aj?

india cud have been 60/4 instead off 120/0

The commentators are questioning whether Sehwag can keep defending. You just ge the impression that he's like Afridi in that he doesn't have the patience to wait. As that Kaneria over showed

Yaar DM, all plaudits to Afridi ( I love his approach as well), but Sehwag is on a different level.

Totally different.

Let shope Sami gets him in the last over.

i wasnt going to reply to you but since u have threatened me...

let me think.....urmmm...

aj, sorry did i say 10 this year i meant 5 this year...
you are devoid of any cricketing knowledge..you persistently rant on about yk and bob woolmer..i mean before the sries even started u went on about how he must have sucked up to bob owise how else is he in the side...

you are are personal with people who cannot argue back..and in the past when i have given it back to you all you have done is hidden behind the moderators aprons..

Actually i dont think they're totally different, in fact they're very similar (at least as similar as 2 cricketers can be). Sehwag plays along the ground more and better than Afridi.

DM - all respect to your opinion, but here is mine:

Technically, they are totally different players, totally different. I cant ever imagine what they have in common in their approach apart from desire to play shots.

Sehwag has a tremendous amount of shots at his disposal and when the ball is there he casually puts it away.

Afridi is anything but casual, and technically worlds apart.

I guess Lance Kluesner has a similar approach - but very very different from Sehwag as well.

10-50runs ..had they declared earlier on this batting pradise the would have gooten half of the score and everybody would have been cursing inzy

immy, keep the personal jibes coming....

ul get lotsa nice replies....!

like i said at start... stick to cricket... sadly u cant do that!

a contest i would have liked to see would have been wasim bowling to sehwag

given the fact taht sehwag struggled against nathan bracken in aus, and the fact that wasim got kris srikanth (a player in sehwag's mould) 7 out of 9 times would suggest to me that wasim would've eaten sehwag for lunch.

i think he's a little lucky that there is no wasim, amby, walsh or donald playing these days...

Add waqar of the 90's also

FP resepect to your opinion too.

Their approaches are similar, their techniques less so.

They both lack conventional foot movement and rely on their hand-eye coordination to smash the ball. Contrary to what has been said recently in pp (i cant remember if it was you) - that Afridi is rigid-wristed, he is in fact a very wristy player and i can show you many shots to prove it. The problem is that he takes the aerial route more often than Sehwag when it's a straighter delivery.

Sehwag takes the cover off the ball wide outside off-stump - so does Afridi. Sehwag can leg glance well and Afridi has a great one too.

Sehwag and Afridi are similar in their approach and this has been highlighted many times and has led to comparisons and comments from people like Miandad saying that they're cut from the same cloth.

Didint u see the 2003 world cup, Wasim 3rd delivery was powered by a beautiful offdrive for 4 by the butcher from delhi (sehwag) along with a few murdering cuts :P

Bracken did have success against him, BUT boy did he come back to belt the living daylights out of him and lee in sydney and Melbourne Sheezee...

well bracken is a bachaa...and he made sehwag look silly...imagine what wasim would do...

besides roti, with wasim playing, the bcci would not allow india to play pakistan in a test series...remember the political tensions excuse? :P

no pt in arguing with him ts. his manner of posts should have made a few things clear about him

geez why are you guys mad at me?? what did I say thats wrong or offensive???. BTW I do belive that waqar of the 90's wouldve have a bit of success againgt sehwag cause he is of the SHANE BOND MODE.

I have seen BOND look sehwag silly but also seen him come back and spank bond around as well. Sehwag is one of those strange players like u can have success against him but then he comes back and trashes u, the next time. He is one of those players who will never become a bunny to any bowler.
