Arsenal FC | 2023/24 Season

City lose back to back PL games in 5 years

Arsenal's 1st win since 2015 over city

Despite today's win. Jesus and Nketiah were atrocious.

We need a striker in January

The 12 loss streak is over! City have lost 2 x consecutive PL games for the first time in 5 years.

WE DID IT!

I predicted 1-2 and will stick to this. Saka shouldnt play if not 100% fit, the mids will look for him but if he cant perform properly it could backfire against Arsenal.

City can leak goals this season, more than in recent years. Arsenal need the forwards to be clinical, the win is on.

But most importantly Arteta needs to stop his arrogance, play the best formation with the players in the right positions. Knowing Arteta he might try to outsmart Pep by playing Havertz up front.
Stick to being a 🤡

With this result I am now even more convinced Pakistan will win the WC!

This could be the year of shock and surprise!

😜

Havertz changed the game today but no one will give him credit.

Headless chicken Martinelli fluked the goal. It was bad execution as usual but thankfully the deflection did the job for him.

Rice was immense as always. Best £100m investment Arsenal could have made.

Oh the irony mamoon has creamed his underpants and celebrating when martinelli scored.

Martinelli who according to him is mediocre

Utter 🤡🤡🤡

He changed the game when he came on. We were looking toothless going forward. Oh the irony for him to get on his high horse.

No City meat-riding for a few weeks at the very least.

Thank God.
We all know uve wet your underpants on Martinellis goal, a so called mediocre player.

Clueless stuff from you as usual

So Mamoon admits it was a fluke win.

So much for the £100M+ investment!

What a return, a lucky deflection!

🤣🤣🤣

I'm absokutrly appalled some of the refereeing.
Micheal Oliver is always like this he always dishes out red cards for our players.

Both Kovacic challenges were red card challenges

2nd now on GD (spurs have scored more)

Chelsea (away) next in two weeks

But but but but but but but but Arsenal has a mental block vs City

But but but but but but but but Arteta cannot beat Pep because he has no answer to his tactics

🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

Rice, saliba and Gabriel were immense today. All 3 could easily by MOTM

🤣🤣 you just called it a fluke goal win.

🤡🤡

WATCH what you are writing on this thread.

Some people seem to think they can do as they please on this thread but continue like that and you will end up on restricted posters list

Tempers appeared to flare at the end with Erling Haaland clearly unhappy with someone, possibly from Arsenal's coaching staff, as they left the pitch.

Gunners fans have been celebrating long after the final whistle. After the pain of missing out on the title last season, they will see this as a win that suggests they could be closer to City this term.

Spot on, he wants to beat his chest over a player he calls a flop

No supply into haaland and he will bound to struggle. Rice was amazing at cutting supply line out.

Arsenal need to chill with over celebrations as we saw this last season. Still 30 games to go

This is exactly how he should be utilized. As I have said many times, he should be used as an impact sub.

He is the ideal player to come off the bench around the 65th - 70th min, having a go at tiring defenders.

However, he is too much of a headless chicken to be your main starter. 9/10 times, he makes the wrong decision in the final third and that is not good enough.

So glad to see his name not on the scoresheet :D

I agree, Rice was MOTM for me. Saliba and Gabriel also in contention.

Don’t be too upset, I know this hurts a lot but this isn’t a title decider by any means. Your prayers weren’t answered today but they might be answered if Arsenal fall short of winning the title.

Don’t worry, all is not lost - you can still have a chance to criticize Arteta.

Arsenal match winner Gabriel Martinelli speaking to Sky Sports: "I am not the man. I think everyone has a part in this victory. I scored the goal but it was the whole team and the staff and everyone. I am happy and the team is too.

"After that moment [my injury], I just tried to give my best to my recovery and try to be ready for the next game. Luckily it was for this game and I helped the team. I am happy with my goal and fitness.

"It gives more confidence [to us]. We know our potential and how tough it is to play against them. Today we beat them and it gives us more confidence to kick on."

Funny how you keep saying Martinelli is headless chicken. Yet nketitah was rubbish whilst he was on and Jesus out wide no better but that doesn't suit your agenda

I still want to see Ramsdale back. Raya wasn’t convincing.

Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus speaking to Sky Sports: "For sure [it is a big win]. Everyone knows how hard it is to play against them. But it is not impossible to beat them. You have to congratulate them on how they worked or played, but it is our home. We had to run, fight, be efficient and score goals. I am happy for Gabi [Martinelli] that he comes on and scores. That shows how strong our team is.

"It is not easy playing three games in one week. I did this. I think I am back with my fitness. I have been fighting, running and helping the team. But as Gabi says, the whole team played amazing and we won the game."

I have said it numerous times that neither Jesus nor Eddie are first choice striker material.

Saka is the only member of the front three who is worthy of being a starter and he is the only one who will start for any team in the league.

Arsenal need to improve its attack next summer and that is where the big money needs to go.

I disagree. Go look at his goals last season. He was blowing teams away in the first 30 mins.

I’ll give you an example, the home game against Liverpool where he scored in the first or second minute. I was lucky enough to see it live at the Emirates.

He's probably going to call that a fluke as well 🤣🤦‍♂️

🤣🤣 only person upset is you and fact you can't give Martinelli credit.

Come up with something more original whilst trying to troll.

I see the club has still made no comment on Zinchenko actions on twitter. Pretty shameless stuff and will be swept under the carpet

Martinelli scored 15 goals and had 5 assists last season.

Considering the chances he had, the positions he got into and the way Arsenal played, he should have had 25 goals and 15 assists.

He is a very wasteful and frustrating player and his fans should be honest enough to admit it.

🤣 so Martinelli should have had 40 G/A according to you.

Why don't you list out all the current left wingers in the PL that are doing that?

Why don't you list out all the left wingers in any of the top 5 European leagues that are doing that?

Also in the history of the PL Why don't you list out all the left wingers who have got 40 G/A in a season.

You really are talking garbage. Then to add to it at same time you over hype garbage players like havertz, Arthur melo etc..

Seriously come up with something logical rather then nonsense your writting

You need to cut him some slack. If there's anyone on the left wing who deserves this energy, it's Trossard. He's been rubbish this week. Was awful against Lens and didn't do anything today.

Yet, you want him to start above Martinelli?

I don't understand how you can go around mock everyone's predictions when you can't even assess Arsenal's players correctly.

Across all competitions. Do I need to spell it to you?

He had 0 G/A in 7 UEL matches.

Yeah bang on. He's asking for Thierry Henry numbers and if he can't match that then he becomes "Brazilian Walcott".

Great logic 🙄👏

I’m cutting him plenty of slack. I just don’t think he should be a permanent starter.

Trossard can play across the front 3 and also slot in midfield.

Across all competitions. Do I need to spell it to you?

He had 0 G/A in 7 UEL matches.

What kind of assessment is this?. In the UEL he played far less minutes per game in this competition compared to the PL. Also nearly all of those teams in the competition were bums so I don't know why this is being accounted for unless the agenda you have against Martinelli is strong?

🤣🤣 so now your moving goals posts and talking about just UEL

Only thing that needs to be spelt out is your talking garbage again.

So again il ask you the question as your clearly to slow to understand

Why don't you give me all the LW in PL thats are scoring 40 G/A in all competitions in a season now

Why don't you give me all the LW in Europe thats are scoring 40 G/A in all competitions in a season right now

Typical bakwas response from you because as per usual you flip flop in a discussion in space of 5 minutes. Your an embarrassment

Guys just moving goal posts again, this is what he does everytime he gets schooled in a discussion.

Don't worry bro there are plenty of LW in Europe getting 40 G/A in all competition. Mamoons going to list them all out 🤣🤦‍♂️

Newcastle beat PSG. PL fans talked about perspective.

Arsenal lost to Lens but beat “best team in the world” today.

Perspective in the trash can 🤡🤡🤡🤡

You have to be a special kind of 🤡 to mess this pass up. I will never forget this.

Wow of all days, you’re bringing this up again after uploading it a few days ago.

Martinelli scored today. He doesn’t deserve this kind of disrespect after the game.

I’m starting to doubt whether you’re a genuine Arsenal fan. It wouldn’t surprise me if you’re merely here to troll us.

I stand by perspective comment because Arteta up until now has been a novice in European competitions. No one can disagree with that.

I still want to see Ramsdale back. Raya wasn’t convincing.
Ramsdale has been just as unconvincing before hand.

Raya was sloppy but also there was at times no players moving around for him to pass to. Apart from Gabriel and saliba the whole team were poor in 1st half.

100% spot on
I haven't been on this forum for long as you have but what I do remember is when I joined, I was under the impression that he was a Man Utd fan but later on he then claimed to be a Gooner.

Ramsdale has been just as unconvincing before hand.

Honestly, I don't think I've see a worse performance from Ramsdale. Yes he's made his fair share of blunders but I've never seen him this shaky and in low in confidence throughout the game. Raya was very lucky to keep a clean sheet. He really didn't deserve it today.

Lads we just won one of the 2 biggest games of the season, at least take today to enjoy it.

Guys enjoy the win and forget the personal 1-up manship. Arsenal won that's all we wanted.

I thought Jorg played well today. Jesus tried but really needs to be center. Eddie is to wasteful with the ball, once he getsbthr ball just shoots and I dont remember him ever scoring a goal from outside the box.

Saliba and Gabby were immense. Zinchenko didn't do anything

Rice was Brilliant. Odegard was quiet but I think that's cos arsenal were very reserved today.

I think trossard starting games needs to be revisited. He does better as a sub

And Nelli with the goal. Love it

Was important to finally beat City and keep the pace.

Ye Zinchenko was hiding on the wing when Gabriel received the ball. Exactly what I said during the week.

With goalkeepers confidence can go quickly and yeah he did get away with 3 bad kickouts. In 2nd half he was a lot better.

I don't think chopping and changing keeper every time there is a slight mistake helps team or either player.

For now Raya should stay number 1 for Chelsea game.

Ye Zinchenko was hiding on the wing when Gabriel received the ball. Exactly what I said during the week.
Because of todays win, no one will mention the Zinchenko tweet which was a disgrace

Ye PR dream not having to deal with him cos everybody is gassed with the win

It was a very poor game of football, just an extension of the charity shield game with two team cancelling each other out

Because City played 4 CBs and there midfield 4 were narrow they had no width until they made subs.

We had no width either as trossard and Jesus didn't get into game so game was just compressed into small space.

Only when Martinelli and doku came on was their direct running.

Saliba, Gabriel and rice were amazing.

At same time Jesus out wide doesn't work. Playing Eddie in big games where he has no link up play n is not clinical needs to stop.

Yeah we deserved to win a scruffy game. But a striker in January is a must n arteta needs to stop moving players from key areas to accommodate useless donkeys like nketitah and havertz when they start.

Jorginho was ok, partey needs to come back into side for Chelsea game.

Today was just bout winning and breaking mental barrier.

Limiting City to 4 shots and just 1 on target is just an absolutely outstanding defensive performance in the biggest pressure game so far. Maybe this team’s mentality really has turned a corner.

I thought you were better than that.

I agree that people can say whatever they want but being consistently off the mark will expose your credibility.

Your views on Edu, Martinelli and Havertz epitomise that.

Bukayo Saka: Arsenal forward not available for England fixtures, says boss Mikel Arteta

Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka will not join up with the England squad for their matches in the next fortnight, says Gunners manager Mikel Arteta.

Saka missed his side's 1-0 Premier League win over champions Manchester City on Sunday with a hamstring injury.

England face Australia on October 13, before taking on Italy in a European Championship qualifier four days later.

"No, he will not make it," said Arteta after Sunday's game. "He has not trained for a single session."

While he would not disclose the likely length of Saka's spell on the sidelines, Arteta added: "He is not available to play football at the moment."

Saka's absence on Sunday ended a run of 87 consecutive Premier League games in which Arteta has played the 22-year-old winger.

He has been struggling with his hamstring in recent weeks, limping off during Arsenal's 2-1 Champions League loss at Lens on Tuesday, and being withdrawn in last weekend's victory at Bournemouth.

England manager Gareth Southgate said last Thursday he would take no risks with Saka, despite England being able to qualify for next summer's European Championship during this international break.

"We've got that responsibility of qualifying for the country, but I've been a player. I've never ever taken a risk on a player's physical wellbeing, and nor would I," said Southgate.

"They [Premier League clubs] have trust in us that we make decisions that are right for the long term whenever we can."

Arsenal 1-0 Man City: Mikel Arteta praises courage in 'big win' while Pep Guardiola insists champions will bounce back

Mikel Arteta praised the courage of his Arsenal side in what the Gunners boss described as a "big win" over Manchester City on Super Sunday.

Gabriel Martinelli stepped off the bench and slammed in a late winner for the hosts as they beat their Premier League title rivals 1-0 at a jubilant Emirates Stadium.

The victory was Arsenal's first over City in the Premier League since December 2015 after losing the previous 12 and gave Arteta a maiden win over his former mentor Pep Guardiola.

"I'm so proud. It was the moment with the right people and the right players. We knew we would have to suffer and we did that. You need a big performance and the crowd too. It feels like a big win," Arteta told Sky Sports.

"I think the way we started we conceded the corner and then we gained some control and in the second half we started really good. We were there and really aggressive. The changes helped as well. The quality they produced in the goal was top.

"City give you a lot of problems and we gave them a lot of issues as well. It is not easy to get out. You need the right timing, the right movement, the right moments. I like the courage.

"You are going to have these hard moments against this team. You have to be direct and manage the emotions and make sure you don't get caught against this team."

Arsenal will see the result as justice delivered after Mateo Kovacic somehow avoided a red card in the first half. He was shown a yellow card for a tackle which saw his studs collide with Martin Odegaard's ankle and then received no further punishment for a similar foul on Declan Rice six minutes later.

On the incident, Arteta said: "I have seen the action but it is in the past and luckily we won."

I don’t care what 🤡’s think, people can say that they want and I will say what I want.
🤣🤡🤡

Still waiting for all these LW that have 40 G/A in all competitions in PL and all other European leagues.

As per usual you avoid the question 🤡
