Arsenal FC | 2023/24 Season

Havertz living rent-free in Arsenal fans’ heads 🤡

Keep going. You’re showing your level here.

I tell you what let’s make a bet.

If Havertz fails for Arsenal this season, you won’t make any posts in any Arsenal/football related threads next season, so effectively a one year ban.

If Havertz has a good season for Arsenal, then I’ll be the one banned from making any posts on the same threads during the 24/25 season.

If it’s not clear and obvious we can mark it down as an average season, we’ll call it a stalemate and no one loses out.

To give you a head start, I’ll discount Havertz’s performances before today’s date.

Enough of the trolling, let’s see if you have any real conviction to actually believe in what you’ve been posting.

Draw a fair result in the end. Very mediocre in the first half, Rice and Jorginho were poor and getting dominated by Chelsea's midfield, defenders were looking shaky (especially the zionist). But credit to their mentality, we came out in the second half much better, subs were impactful and it was a fantastic comeback.

At the end of the day they scored from a lucky penalty and an even luckier cross / GK mistake, so I'm not too worried on the defensive side of things. First away goal(s) we've conceded this season. However the hypocrite half time sub was a sign of things to come I think, Tomi looking far better and more confident right now.

Lack of attacking fluidity is still a problem like it's been all season though. Jesus, Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli all poor again and not hitting the levels they did last year.

Next away game is a very tough one at St James Park, need to get Tomi and Partey in for that one.

Havertz was impactful against City and contributed to the goal. Yesterday, he dominated Thiago Silva in the air and gave Arsenal more presence up front.

Please sit down. Havertz is already making an impact at Arsenal and proving his haters wrong. He adds a new dimension to the team. He provides something different and this is why he was bought.

🤣🤣 comedy gold

Twerking for mediocrity as usual 🤡
Sit down urself and stop embarrassing urself with your pathetic low standards at what impact is.

On a side note jorghino was trash yesterday. Another player uve been twerking for since he joined.

Chelsea rejects and cast offs giving Arsenal a new dimension 🤣 just when I though you couldn't hype mediocrity even more you land another comedy gem.

Jorginho, the error vs Spurs aside, has proved to be a valuable signing. You think Jorginho is bad but if Jorginho wasn’t bought, the team mascot Elneny would be getting minutes instead and I don’t need to explain to you why and how Jorginho is miles better.

A Draw a fairly result? We literally robbed a point after been shambolic for 75 minutes.

The penalty was a penalty, his arms were out in a weird position. Chelsea cut us apart regular and their poor decision making in final 3rd meant they didn't win 4 or 5 nil.

Artetas subs were reactionary as usual, waiting till around the 70th minute (68 mins to make key changes)

The fact Partey didn't start or wasn't brought on was in game incompetence from Arteta as usual.

Havertz and Vieira were signed for 100M combined as attack midfielders, yet all off sudden havertz not being used there and Vieira not even in squad. So when games like this when ozil-gaard dissapears Arteta has no plan B.

This was a back end of last season performance and again Arteta looked clueless on sidelines.

All the other points in regards to individual performances yeah I will agree with you. There has beeb zero fluidity all season and that's on the managed and his over coaching.

Arteta maybe a decent coach, but he's a poor manager. Reactive subs, and poor in game management. That continually gets exposed in games like this

Looks like Arteta has replaced elneny as team mascot with jorghino and havertz as mascots.

I see you conviently ignore how poor jorghino was yesterday and the reason we got over run and bullied in midfield. The guy was being over run by a mediocre player like Gallagher.

You comparing two mediocre players in jorghino and elneny in 1st place, again highlights your over hyping of mediocrity.

Facr partey didn't start or come on at half time was tactical Incompetence from Arteta, but your not man enough to admit that

Stamford Bridge is one of the worst grounds to play at when it is raining. Arsenal couldn’t keep the ball yesterday. Jorginho and Odegaard struggled to keep possession.

In spite of not being able to play the way they wanted and being 2-0 down in with 15 mins to go, Arsenal still found a way to not lose the game.

This is the champion mentality Arteta has instilled in Arsenal.

Wow blaming the rain? 🤣

What next it was windy? Grass was to long? You using Jurgen klopp excuses.

Arsenal were complacent and poor, tactically and physically were up for fight or 50:50 challenges etc. Most of the game.

Yeah the team grabbed a lucky point and performances need to improve massively

We were awful for 75 minutes and brilliant for the last 15-20 minutes...

But like I've said before, getting a result (in this case a draw) when you've had a poor game is the hallmark of a very good team....

Also with a bit of luck we could have come away with all three points.
The handball penalty we have away was very soft and almost every pundit felt we should have had a penalty when their goalkeeper took out Gabriel.

I knew you wouldn’t take up the bet. Just goes to show how much conviction you have in what you’re saying.

We were lucky we didn't lose the game 4 or 5. The poor disjointed performances and lack of fluidity is on the manager.

Arsenal keep playing like this and luck will run out

Arsenal need to change the captaincy and soon, ozil-gaard dissapeared once again when going got tough.

When your captains shirking 50:50s and not leading by example

Busy Weekend with the kids so just posting about the game now.

From the 1st minute Arsenal were off the pace. Nobody stood out. Raya, Odegaard, Jesus, Martinelli and Saka to name a few. Actually everyone was poor. When I saw the midfield I knew it was trouble and Enzo and Caceido would nullify Odegaard which would leave rice doing a 2 person job.

Odegaard was extremely poor.

I haven't even mentioned Zinchenko. I will keep repeating that he is a liability! Forever leaving that left side exposed. Taking weak bookings so Arteta could make an excuse for taking him off. Make no mistake booking or not he was going off. That was a tavares level performance. Needs to get gone.

Not sure why Partey did't make an appearence. A midfield 3 of Partey Rice and Odegaard looks strong. ESR looked bright but then started limping.

All in all a undeserved point. The fact when we started playing we looked like we could win it. To little to late.

Something is not clicking with this team and the fact we are still unbeaten is testament to the never say die attitude. Having said that, thats 3 games now which we won last year and drew this year. 6 points dropped = 2 defeats.

CL away next will be tough. Our backside normally drops out when there is any kind of hostile atmosphere away and Seville will be raucous.

Good honest assessment, rather then some fans thinking we deserved a point etc..

If Arsenal play like they have against lens (CL) and Chelsea (PL) in next two tough away games against seville and Newcastle, then they will be some heavy defeats.

Arteta needs to stop tinkering and micro managing every game as its causing these inconsistent performances

Agreed. I think its time to see the Rice Partey and Odegaard midfield.

Not sure why he is reluctant.

Trossard is a weird one. He seems better off the bench. He looks so poor when he starts game but really affects games when coming on. Not sure thats cos Martinelli tires out the full back. I have listened to fullbacks before saying they hated it when a quality winger came on for another.

Annoying as it is, it looks like the way Spurs fixtures are that they will be 5 points clear come our next game. Thats peak!

Although will be interesting to see how they get on without Bisouma and Paulinho playing for fulham. Hopefully he locks Maddison off

I'm glad you mentioned this because according to Mamoon, Trossard should start because apparently Martinelli is better off coming off the bench because he's better utilised later in the game. But the reality is very much the contrary.

I've rarely seen Trossard play well when he starts. But when he comes off the bench, he shines.

Both spurs and Liverpool have got a few decent fixtures in next 3 so they could easily both get 9 points.

We have Sheffield utd and Burnley next two home games so Need 6 points.

The tough one is Newcastle away. Yes we won their last season and would need a similar performance.

Arsenal biggest issue right now is Arteta self harming team selections, every other game he's getting selections wrong and their is no fluidity in the team.

He's spunked away 100M on Vieira and havertz who aren't good enough to play number 8, then randomly uses ESR at weird situations.

There seems to be a reluctant to use partey which is just dumb, and with partey, elneny and tomiyassu all away in January - Arsenal are going to have to depend on zionist-crychenko and jorghino both who are liabilities in team right now.

Arteta is just showing he can't in-game manage and rotate effectively. This is reason back of end of last 3 seasons has collapsed, that's issue is now cropping up at start of this season.

This is reason why Arsenal won't win title, unless the manager shows a massive improvement in squad management

Arteta showcasing his favourites once again.

There's no way Raya should be kept in goal after the way he played against City and Chelsea. If Ramsdale played like that, I'm certain he would've been dropped

Yes I've seen Ramsdale make errors but I've never seen him look so nervous and edgy for Arsenal. He can't the handle the pressure and expectation that comes with playing for a big team.

Raya made 2 x major errors during the weekend. He was very lucky only one goal was scored.

It looks like Chelsea snap up Ramsdale in January. If that happens, goodbye to our title hopes. For last season, he was in the PL team of the year.

I hope Raya f***s up again tonight so Arteta is forced to bring back Ramsdale.

We already seen under Arteta

Martinez vs Leno (wrong keeper let go)

Then we had

Leno vs Ramsdale

And now

Ramsdale vs Raya

Arteta continues make a dogs dinner of decisions and also cause issues which didn't need to be created at club

Impatient Arsenal fans throwing tantrums as usual. They never learn.

Ramsdale will be the long-term number 1. Arteta knows it, Ramsdale knows it. He is not leaving the club.

However, it was important to bring competition to keep him on his toes and make him stay focused. He was getting a little too comfortable.

Ramsdale will be a starter pretty soon and we will see a better version this time. Raya was brought to make Ramsdale better.

Chelsea are reportedly planning a shock transfer move for Arsenal keeper Aaron Ramsdale, according to reports.

The decision to let go Martinez was an awful error of judgement. He was far superior to Leno.

Arteta has certainly complicated things and put unnecessary pressure on both goalkeepers.

Last season we said that Zinchenko was Arteta's golden boy. Maybe now it's Raya's turn to become the new golden boy on the block.

Look at you, always blindly justifying every decision Arteta makes. It's not just "impatient Arsenal fans", a number of ex-players have criticised Arteta for leaving out Ramsdale. Read what David Seaman and Ray Parlour said.

If Ramsdale isn't back in goal anytime soon, he may as well force his exit in January and reach out to the likes of Chelsea.

I couldn’t care less what Seaman and Parlour say. The football punditry business is a sham.

They all talk a good game until you put them in charge. Everyone’s a manager in the studio.

Replace Arteta with either of the two and watch Arsenal tank.

I don’t listen it pundits anymore because none of them have the cojones to put their money where their mouth is and step out of the comfortable studio and step into the real world of football management.

Anyone would think Arteta was Ferguson or shankley levels manager they way you twerking for him.

He's nothing more then Peps ex cone distributor.

Ex-cone distributor who took Arsenal from a team that was barely surviving in the top half of the table and turned them into title contenders?

Don’t talk about the money he spent because he has spent less money than City, Chelsea and United in the same period. Yes including City who were already champions at the time and had world class players all over the pitch.

Arteta is a phenomenal manager who has brought Arsenal back from the dead and revived the club. Your tears won’t make a difference.

Oh here we go with the fabricated lies as per usual 😴😴🥱🥱

Arteta took over a team which finished 5th, got to a Europa league and league Cup final in Emerys only full season.

So where exactly is 5th place surviving in top half of the table? There are 20 teams in the league so 5th place isn't scraping into top half.

Your exaggerating 🦬💩 is hilarious.

So Arteta managed to take Arsenal out of Europe for 1st time in 20 years, then get humilated in europa league 3 times.

Bottled a EL semi final when Emery took him to school, bottled top 4 race and bottled a title race.

Only tears were from you after you were humiliated with your "its in the bag comments" only thing stopping people seeing your tears was the rotten tomatoes and eggs that were all over your face.

Keep twerking for mediocrity, the fact you think Arteta will win a couple of CL after he's beeb humilated by villareal, sporting Lisbon, olympiakos and lens says it all

Same starting 11 as Saturday, let's see if they turn up tonight

Jesus finishing continues to be mediocre, a new striker in January is a must

Very poor performance 1st half, just a continuation from Chelsea game, but we have nicked a goal against run of play

Ozil-gaard misses great chance, he's still on Halloween watch with his ghosting in games

Jesus makes it 2-0 lovely finish. Makes up for his miss in 1st half

BUT BUT BUT

He should be a "brain dead late impact sub".

Everyone knows Trossard has been inferior to Martinelli when he's started games.

Brain dead analysis.
Martinelli should be scoring hat trick and getting 3 assists I'm every CL game with team he's playing in 🤣🤭🤭

Sevilla peppering Arsenal goal now

Jorginho and halloween-gaard need to be taken off 🤦‍♂️

:ROFLMAO:

Honestly his argument about 0 goals in 7 apps in last season's EL ripped into shreds.
He's using his typewritter now constructing a new essay to divert the attention from his latest comical opinion. I'm sure a new bizare claim will be made by him 🤣🤭

If we can hold on to win this, he might make it about Havertz's "impact" coming off the bench and the way he's showing "good signs" to prove his "haters wrong". :ROFLMAO:

Halloween-gard replaced by havertz

Like for like 👻 replacement

Captain got a new contract and has retired from playing

Should have signed James maddision

We are clinging on at moment in a group where all the teams are europa league standard. Still 10 minutes to hold on

2-1 win - scrappy performance.

Tomiyasu should be man of match. That was a tough game to watch.

Rice needs to be made captain

"Arteta is tactically clueless and cannot win in Europe" 🤡
3 Europa league failures, scrapping by in a CL group with europa league standard teams.

Mediocrity twerking at its finest 🤣

Tomiyasu should be man of match. That was a tough game to watch.

Odegaard is mentally and physically too weak to remain as Arsenal's captain. Technically he's gift but he's uninspiring. Rice needs to be captain after this season.

I would say Jesus has to be MOTM with his goal and assist. He was really good this evening.

He's been shining in the CL after having scored in every game so far.

Scrappy win in the end, but a vital one away from home.

Many players still not hitting the levels they were last season, Odegaard being the biggest one. Saka and White too.

But Gabriel Jesus man, the guy is totally magic. His goal scoring record in UCL is outstanding. Pure individual brilliance to win the game, and composure from Martinelli was fantastic too.

Also hope that Tomiyasu has properly earned Arteta's trust to start over zionist now, especially in big / away games. He's the best pure defender in the squad after Saliba, but his positioning between the lines and ability on the ball is so much improved. The advantage of having younger players, you can mould them however you like. Hopefully starting to see Tomi develop into an elite player.

Good win last night.

Some stand out performances from , Gabi Martinelli, Jesus and Both CB. Rice was brilliant as usual.

Special mention to Tomiyasu. He was excellent. Amazing having some one who can actually defend at LB after watching the cheerleader Zinny for a while. I said it after the Chelsea game that Zinchenko was not taken off because of the yellow it was because he is useless in defence. Does not have 1 attribute that a defender should have. Xhaka when he played LB was better!

I thought Arsenal's passing was slicker as well.

I have 2 worries which are Saka and Odegaard. Saka still does not look fit. Acuna is not a good fullback and I would expect him to have him on toast.

Odegaard has had back to back poor games now. Cause for concern

Overall a good away win. Not a easy place to go. Win our next 2 games at the Emirates in CL and should go through as group winners.

Sheffield United next... Wonder if Partey's mystery muscle injury will recover in time. Stories going round its a special muscle injury only in spain. If you know you know.

Eddie will probably start, and i dont have a problem with that. Havertz will to. Zinchenko will come back in as I dont think Tomiyasu can play back to back 90 mins with his injury record.

Bottom line is whoever we put out against Sheff U we should beat them comfortably.

Jesus is such a frustrating player he can score goals like one vs united and last night, then miss sitters galore. Needs to get some consistency in his game.

If Tomiyasu can stay fit he should keep crychenko out of the team, but he will be away in jan-feb for Asia cup which is a blow as leaves team short defensively

Biggest issue right now is the midfield both short term and longterm

Rice - top quality player

Partey - seems he wanted to leave in summer and even more so now with Arteta under playing him. Will probably be sold in Jan or summer

Jorginho - simply not good enough, how off the ball play and lack of mobility constantly been exposed

Elneny - average player and will stay on as a coach soon

Halloween-gard - most pathetic and weak Arsenal captain ever, got his new contract and continues to ghost games. But because he can hold huddles and cheer at ground, most of fan base are twerking for him. I'm sure he will turn up against Sheffield utd

Then there is the 100M + spunked away on Vieira and havertz and neither is good enough.

Stark reality is apart from Rice, Halloween-gard (Arteta's pet) rest of midfield will either be gone soon or not good enough. Which means a huge midfield rebuild. The club focus should actually be a striker and right winger.

Halloween-gard has been poor all season, apart from 1 good game away to Bournemouth.

How many big clubs have a captain who dissapears so much or gets sub off so much. He's nothing more then a handpuppet captain for Arteta

Bruno - although he doesn't get subbed off

That right hand side was so good last season. Odegaard and Saka bopping it to each other and Ben White overlapping. Seems to have stopped this season

Bruno shouldn't be United skipper either, another ghost captain.

Last season the combination of partey, xhaka and ozil-gaard complimented each other. Plus you had the combination of saka and white working well. The whole team fluidity has been destroyed because of so called "more control" in games because Arteta is scared of another end of season collapse.

Managing and rotating a squad effectively stops end of season collapses, something Arteta has shown he can't do in his 4 years at club.

There's a difference between coaching and managing a squad

What did you enjoy more:

Martinelli's goal or Havertz's masterclass as a late sub?
There was nothing special about Martinelli’s goal. He was through on goal and was 1v1 because it was a counter-attack and the GK made it easy for him by leaving his line early, so his only option was to round him because he is not skillful enough to chip the keeper.

Martinelli’s brain stops working when he has to choose between 2-3 different options for example, to shoot, to pass, or where to shoot etc.

He is a simple-minded player who is only effective when he has one option in front of him and this is why more often than not, he makes bad decisions in the final third.

He should only be used as an impact sub.

We’re certainly not creating as many chances. Odegaard was poor again and went missing. To get the most out of him he needs Rice and Partey alongside him in midfield because physically and mentally he’s too weak.

Nketiah needs to be sold in January. We should never have sold Balogun.

You do realise Trossard has never been good when he’s started for Arsenal.

Martinelli has been much better than him when starting on the LW.

Trossard plays well when he’s the “impact sub”.

Trossard hasn’t started enough games for such conclusions to have credibility. Martinelli has been a starter for 2 seasons and I see no improvement in his decision-making or composure.

I disagre. He's started enough games in various competitions ever since we signed him and the difference between them as starters on the LW is night and day. If you haven't already done so, read post 1059 by @MK7Z

There's a reason why Martinelli is ranked much higher than him in every list of top left wingers in today's game. No one rates Trossard more than him except you.

Your agenda is blindingly obvious.

They are only a few actual world class LWs out there and they are all better than the guy who is a jobber for Brazil.

The argument for Martinelli being poor etc etc would hold much more weight if the person claiming this was not saying that Havertz is better or has been better or is going to be better.

I mean honestly I want them both to do well. Martinelli has been lauded by the likes of Klopp, Pep called him an incredible weapon. Declan Rice spoke about him to. Even one of my fave players of all time Ronaldinho talked about him in the past.

Numerous experts and pundits speak highly of him. I personally think his ceiling is massive.

I can guarantee you he will leave a better legacy at Arsenal than Havertz. ( I hope Havertz improves!)

This makes no sense from him whatsoever. He didn't chip him because the odds of accomplishing this is far lower than dribbling past him to score what was a virtually an empty net.

Martinelli’s brain stops working when he has to choose between 2-3 different options for example, to shoot, to pass, or where to shoot etc.

He then literally contradicts himself here. Martinelli had multiple options, he could've chipped the goalkeeper or dribbled past him then went for goal.

Honestly so many holes in his arguments.

Let's be real here if Martinelli had missed mamoon would have said he's useless and missed because of poor decision making.

Now he's saying there are loads of LW better then Martinelli, that's fair enough.

Let's see Mamoon list all these players.

I'm still waiting for the list of players I'm PL and all other leagues with 40 G/A In all competitions 🤣🤦‍♂️

Are Martinelli and saka good players? Yes.

Are they world class? No

Simply because this is their 1st season in CL and need to prove themselves.

They also need to show they can win games in title races, cup winning games etc..

However with both being so young they have time to become world class.

Let's be real how many world class young attackers are there apart from mbappe and vinny JNR

Bellingham will eventually become world class and elite.

Who cares about international football. Richarlison looks amazing for Brazil and is 🐶💩 in PL so your whole Brazil argument is weak as usual

Gabriel Martinelli has now scored on his first start in all of these competitions:

✅ Premier League
✅ Champions League
✅ League Cup
✅ Europa League

Not bad for a headless chicken 🤭

BREAKING: Arsenal's Thomas Partey and Gabriel Jesus have both been ruled out for a few weeks due to injury

Arteta:

“For Gabriel Jesus, the scans show there’s muscle injury and we might lose him for a few weeks again”.

“Thomas Partey has got a muscle injury and we expect him to be out for a few weeks”.

Neither of these players can stay fit, Arteta will just give time to nketitah and havertz now 🤦‍♂️

Partey is a problem. Why is it he can go and play at Ghana but injured when Arsenal.

So frustrating. Great player when fit but availability is an attribute to.

Sheff at home next.

After this I predict a tough time for Arsenal in the PL, which will conclude with a trashing on December 23rd. :)

Partey, jorghino, elneny, havertz, Vieira all need to be replaced. None of them ate good if Arsenal want to win a title
