England reach 239/6 in reply of Pakistan's first Innings total of 366 at stumps of Day 2 of the second Test

They clearly don't trust Zahid. These are his QEA averages from the last two seasons:

2023 - 41.50
2022 - 45.76
 
Shan masood has a duped his way to a decade long test career along with a stint in captaincy just because he can string a sentence in angrezi can only happen in Pakistan
 
Both the Pak spinners look the wrong side of 30s, will they last the entire game bowling so many overs?

Nobody from PCB can tell us what the selection criteria is or what profiling work is done on bowlers.

They make it up as they go along.
 
On a serious note, why hasn’t this Noman played more games, seems like a proper test spinner.
 
Both Salman and Rizwan trying extremely hard to impress the selectors as future captains. They keep harping on and on

Pakistan Spinners don't have much skills .

Game is slowly turning towards England if they doesn't takes two wickets before Stumps

This is a traditional subcontinent wicket (slow turn before days 3-4).

The problem is these Pakistani spinners are garbage.
 
Spinners need to bowl in partnership and coordination. Both Pak spinners are bowling some rippers in between some pedestrian bowling. There seems to be total lack of coordination.

But this is a reused surface - same as the first Test ! That's unheard of. And it still looks a good batting wicket.
 
This Zahid is chewing gum like he's Viv Richards while bowling his assortment of full tosses and short long hops.

He wouldn't have made a FC team 10-15 years ago let alone national team. We used to have so much spin depth from Ajmal, Yasir, Rehman, Zulfiqar, Raza Hasan etc.
 
Be it Gavaskar or Manjrekar or Ramiz Raja or Amir Sohail, subcontinent commentators are always obsessed with 100s be it from any player. Ramiz seems more concerned with Duckett’s 100 here.

He reminds me so much of the way Yousuf used to start his innings, but became better and better the longer he stayed in.

Joe root doesn’t have that nervous energy that Yusuf had though. Always looks assured.
 
Serious question, should pak stop playing test cricket until they sort themselves out?

They are getting whitewashed at home again.

It's actually at crisis state with pak cricket

Joe Root looking good for another big one.

Whats happened to Pakistani pace bowling? Isnt there any genuine fast bowlers in the domestic who can bowl long spells in test cricket

Root is basically the better version of Yousaf and the version pakistan could have gotten had they persisted with Yousaf at no 3 and kept him their due to his outstanding record at said no

Only one pacer? Wth. Even BD dont do that even on Mirpurs low slow turners! Gotta have minimum two seamers! Regardless of pitch!

Duckett's got a 100...well played
aint easy even if flat pitch, tough hot conditions, u need oodles of concentration, stamina, fitness etc

Their performance varies depending on the pitches. Pakistan spinners can produce same performance on all type of pitches.

They win because they are better team than most teams, not because faster rate. Faster rate does not help them in all venues.

Caser in point, they are far behind India and Aus so their record in these two countries in the last 10 years is 24 tests with 2 wins. A contrast with when they play weaker sides away. They are Third best test team and their winnings reflects that.
