England make two changes: Tredwell and Stokes replace Gurney and Ballance.. which means Moeen Ali will bat at no. 3.

only one change and that too poor one.

Umesh has been poor ODI bowler.better to try others like Pandey

Would have like to see Karan Sharma

and even Binny should be tried.Did well last time even though it was BD.should be given chances. Two spinners wont work in Oz.

I hope England get stuffed again. That might force a re-think on ODI selection policy.

England not a good ODI side...Need to change a few things.

Come on England!!!

Make a game of it!!!

Felt cheated when I went to TB & Edgbaston!

Pathetic and horrible shot from moeen! was a school boy X1 shot!

Ohhh England why do you schedule ODI's when you suck at it......

To satisfy the ECB's TV paymasters, of course.

There are very interesting graphics about Cook. Of seven widish balls bowled to him by the Indians in the last ODI, he put away just two of them. Sehwag would have mullered all seven! Cook is also preditable in that fully half his runs are scored behind the wicket, and almost none on the off side, so he is very easy to set a field too. Rahane scores all round the wicket so is harder to tie down.

This series was scheduled at such a convinient time for me but England have spoilt it :vaughan:

most bilateral ODI series are boring nowadays
Well, not this bad..

This is one sided as it gets, why can't India just bat first and score a massive total...

It will save us 15-20 or so overs of England trying to bat in LO's.

Haroon786 Mamoon Cook has a higher ODI SR than boy wonder :)))

India likes to chase :msd

England are going well in this ODI tbh, should get 270 from here on

Watch Buttler. If he stays in.

Buttler flourishing as usual when the pressure is not on...chokes when most needed

England fighting back- good show!

typical of my luck- the game i decided not to attend and looks like could be a cracker!

Roooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot

Headingley is one of the flattest ODI Pitches. 300 will be par on here

55-0 in the powerplay. That's more like it. Maybe Root should be opening with Hales.

300 mate- with 6 wickets in hand, last 9 overs ansd 2 set bats

anything less than 300 be a massive disappointment
Nah, no hitters after Buttler.

Stokes and Woakes are bits and pieces cricketers, can't expect much from them.

Its a good thing for India to have these situations.

Need practice.

I don't think India would lose this ODI but if it does, so be it.

These kinda death situations is where we come apart and its better to face them now (before the WCs) than win some one sided contest and go into the WC thinking you will do good.

No I want India to win this match and every match it plays, and not so be it. If you dont play to win, might as well not play or support!!!!

Root one hit way...

Hope he does make it- would be well deserved- but aint he a bit of a HTB ;-)

agree.Thats why I wanted to see Karan Sharma and Pandey.Yadav again smacked as expected.Don't see the point of persisting with him.His pace is not helping

You missed my point. Completely.

I said India is likely to win but its GOOD that we get these chances.

Its better to have these tough death situations now for practice than having some easy wins under the belt which will only help us delude ourselves into thinking all is fine.

I got your point, but took exception to your attitude "so be it"- no it shouldnt be!! We should aim to win regardless of what situation we are in.....

"So be it" refers to the point that I am would prefer the possibility of us losing as long as we get face these tough situations as opposed to preferring some easy wins against a hapless English side where our weaknesses are not tested.

Whether our death bowling is tested in this series or not, it will get tested against stronger sides. Hence my point.

Not good enough to make the side as purely a bowler or batsmen.

Sounds like bits and pieces to me? :13:
half a bowler+half a batsman= one decent cricketer :yk
A bits and pieces would be Anwar Ali who is half a batsman and like a tenth of a bowler.
Plus Woakes has the ability to take 4s and 5fers which I suppose is good enough. He took a 6fer vs Australia and actually earned the wickets. Plus his FC stats are that of a genuine allrounder.
