Won't, it was absolute shocker of a decision to bat first. I don't know who was behind that call, but Yasir went in to his head. On a gloomy Lord's morning Wasim chose to bat against Mac & Fleming - 17 years later still it hasn't changed much.

Against this ENG side with Butler coming at 7 & Wokes, Adil to follow (In fact Plunket at 10 has 6 FC hundreds), no team is safe against ENG in their home batting first.

Good chance for Babar to score a big hundred here, he's in a different league compared to our other jokers

Hafeez is still better than the likes of aslam, sharjeel, etc
 
The one thing that Warnie always said was that if it seams it spins. If Paks can put on a decent total all is not lost. optimism!
 
Let's hope for some positives after the 5-0 drubbing - drop Azhar, Shoaib, Hafeez, Umar Gul and bring in youngsters to rebuild

But atleast he didn't waste 20 balls doing that

The replacement you would want would do that before failing
 
For the last time everyone blaming azhar to make the decision to bowl first it wasnt just his decision. The whole management is to be blamed. So much experience in the management and you can't read a pitch? Making azhar the scapgoat just like we use to with misbah.

This is not a knee jerk reaction, this is happening for last 6 years. We are fed up of this
 
Babar Azam should open with Umar Akmal in the next series, both good players of pace. Better than jokers like Sharjeel and Azhar
 
Babar is damn good.

Haris needs to get back ASAP. Also draft in Rizwan at 5 (He is not a no.6). As for opening, when Umar gets back, put him there for a couple of series.

Sarfraz should've got the ODI captaincy, at least he's won an under 19 WC as captain
 
Also Sohail Khan is miles better than every other bowler except Aamir, what a shame that we left him out
 
LOL good morning, just woke up to see Pakistan decided to bat first on a green carpet at Lords. What an awful decision by him and the management.

This pitch is exactly the type of pitch India got in the first Test and they won, maybe we can bounce England out as well here.

Sohail khan would have made a big difference if he was given chance in place of Wahab in this ODI series.
 
If I recall correctly, last match, in his 1st 50, Azhar had 4 boundaries - 3 of them leg glance to poor balls. And, the shot Babar played last over, Azhar Ali in his ODI career never had played in PP.
 
To be fair Babar Azam and Harris are the only batsman pakistan has produced in the last 5 to 6 years that are in touch with the modern limited overs game. Both have the ingredients to be very good ODI players.
 
This guy plays with a SR above 90, which is absolutely criminal in Pak :))) Love watching this guy bat
 
I hope that Sami Aslam is not thrown out in next game after this doubtful decision. He is good and need to be given a logical run in ODIS.
 
if i was the selector then I will give Sharjeel another 3 matches and the next series against WI. He doesn't preform then shouldn't be playing for Pakistan ever again.
 
As usual people are demanding return of X, Y and Z. Umar Akmal, Ahmed Shehzad and Sohaib Maqsood have been mentioned.

Fact is they've all been dropped for a reason - their form prior to their expulsions was appalling and a major factor behind our fall to #9 in ODIs. All three failed in the 2015 WC. Why the short memories ?

Pakistan ultimately do not have the talent or skills needed to succeed in ODI cricket. You cannot compare our situation to England's after their disasterous 2015 WC as they had a strong talent pool to select from - and have a system where players are properly coached from junior level up unlike our lallu coaches who cannot even spot the most basic of technical flaws.
