lol, thanks was nearly on the blower to my bank manager to put the whole balance on an England win. :)

I hope not, I'm a huge England fan and I don't have that level of optimism. At this stage I'd say advantage India by a slight margin really.

:D

I was at work on Friday so had no access to Betfair, but at 128/8, I do wonder what the odds for England to win were on the first day; I am guessing 40 to 1 or near abouts.

England are well in the driving seat for a win.

The Sun will be out all day and England won't bat as bad as they did in the first innings. The sun has burnt the grass but there are patches will will grip now and again. I can't see England being bowled out for less than 300 so that would leave a tough task for India to chase it down. England in a better position imo.

Yeah I was thinking the same, the odds were very good to put some money on. After day 4 India might have similar odds. :D

Are u from Eng.... cant be Pak / India as betting is illegal

India wasted all the advantage it had after that superb effort from Rahul and Yuvraj. A definite advantage is on England's side, as they have won the psychological battle in the evening. Really bad display from the lower order batsmen after such a good platform.

First session tomorrow, most probably will decide the turn of events for the match.

Gave away advantages on both the days... :(

Cardinal rule #1 of following English cricket. Even if we have a stellar batting order, we will always have the propensity to collapse to average bowlers at any stage. The better we've gotten, the less often it happens, but it still does.

How else do you account for Mitchell "Piechucker" Johnson ripping us apart at Perth?

great day of test cricket. Wonderful batting display from dravid , yuvraj and laxman and broad bowled wonderfully well. India has advantage 70 - 30 i say. India can get them out for 210- 220. India will hope for overcast and england will hope for a sunny day , a lot depends on weather.

Thanks! And you have lots of faith in this indian team than me.

Don't you think the momentum is with england now:(

England are effectively 2 down but that lower order is too good , surely 250 + on the cards.

Ian Bell at number three...cometh the hour, cometh the man, we hope...

how so? England are 43 behind and they are 1 wicket down. One wicket early in the morning the english will be under pressure. Weather will play its part and so does the field placing of Dhoni. But India is ahead at the moment. The lead of 60 on this pitch is hefty.

PS I expected an Indian win at this ground before the series and still think they are favourites, and more than capable of chasing 280.

I think with their amazing batting lineup they can chase up to 500 tbh. Not many other teams possess players as blessed and talented.

The collapse has alreadly happened in the first innings. The weather will be bright, better deck to bat on and a confident long tail is still there. Trott missing will be a blow but England have enough fire power to score 300. That should be a massive test for India. Victory is not certain for either but personally I would like to be in Englands shoes.

350 all out would be a big total for India to chase (290), but even that would be gettable. I think another 230 all out is more likely anyway, batting will be tough for us tomorrow without Trott.

Trott will not play even if required to bat at the tail end?

Anything above 250 would give England a massive advantage. Not sure about the stats but I think very few teams might have chased over 250 in the last innings here.

Jibran bhai, I would love to agree with you...Crossing fingers !
BTW, you come across as a true cricket lover...RESPECT !

Hahahaha ! Ready with an excuse already ? And werent you the one who was jumping & dancing with the pom poms in hand claiming England to be no 1 and India will be crushed in the series ? Pretty quick in saving your face, haan ? :))) :)))

I hope India do win this one so we see a little more of jumping and dancing and pom poms :) its been getting quite entertaining from you lately, cant afford to miss it :) ...

Its also funny to see your response at Trott's injury. Already coming with excuses when we all know your responses towards the injured Indian players ...:)

Dude I predicted 2-1 in this series months ago, always had this one down as an Indian win. Good subcontinental sides always beat us here. That's not an excuse - don't know what else to say to you really.

I hope India do win this one which will be a slap on the face of the likes of you...

Hey *****, read all his posts before you comment like a chotch troll. He predicted a loss at TB ages back, before the lord's test even, and England wins at Oval and Edgbaston, he's stuck true to his predictions, and you're just insulting him for no reason. Why do you think most of this site dislikes people like you?

what ho is the kind of user that will come and go...sure he's enjoying it though

Ignore him we all know his motives :butt

He is already succeeding.

News.

England hopeful of Trott batting at some point tomorrow :hamster:

Even a scrappy one-handed 20 could be crucial.

I dont think India can chase 250 here with this batting. Only two batsmans have shown any class Dravid and Laxman.

India's team scores all out so far are 280, 250 and 290. I suppose England have a chance with any three-figure lead but I just feel India will edge this one.

England will have to get Dravid out somehow early. So far he only got out properly once. Today tried to play some shots when he was running out of partners and got out but otherwise great batting.

Our bowlers are decent, so Dravid will fail eventually as will Laxman. Then again that little fella has got to come good eventually...

Something that has become apparent is one impatient or false shot on this pitch gets you out. Big challenge for all the English and Indian blokes coming up in the 2nd innings.

So the **** mouthpiece comes free of cost with his master :)))

KP will have to make up for the dropped catch. I do not expect England to make anything more than 230 though as all Indian seamers are bowling brilliantly. Cook has been a big dissapointment so far , back to his last summer form where pakistani bowling attack exposed him badly by pitching it up consistently.

In my view, KP would be the most dangerous one tomorrow, we need to take him out early. he can completely change the game in one session itself. Tough day, but England on the rise just because of the way they fought in the last session. I was having nice evening TV time and Broad dashed nice ending to the day :(

Indeed!

Trott will be unable to bat :(

Latest update I heard is that he doesn't have any bone damage, and they're actually considering that he might bat tomorrow after all. If England can somehow gewt to Day 4 with 2-3 wickets left, I'm pretty certain Trott will want to force his way out there.

To be honest, Ian Bell did not look that comfortable throughout this series. Even, today he looked shaky at the start, may be time for him to come good...

And Morgan right?

He's a lost cause, it's up to Strauss, KP, Prior tomorrow. A good tailend partnership for another 50-60 from Bresnan, Broad, Swann, and Jimmy (he blocks well and survives for the other end).

Dunno they can hit 300, but if its sunny, who knows.

All that has gone before is irrelevant. Ian Bell can forever silence the doubters with a match-winning innings tomorrow, he has a great chance of being the hero. We need to stop relying on South Africans...

So Morgan then?

Speaking of which, hows Paul Stirling?

Did you actually watch that innings? I did - Mitchell Johnson became Wasim Akram for a day. He was swinging the ball sharply both ways at over 140ks. Johnson is crap 9 out of 10 days, but he has the odd sensational bowling performance. It wasn't average bowling by any means. Which is why it's all the more pity that he's mentally fragile.

On a lighter note what a time for Sachin to bring up his 100th international ton

Actually it is a lose-lose situation for poor Sachin unless India win

If he fails in the second innings and India lose the match, people will say 'see he rarely delivers when the chips are down'
If he scores a hundred but India still lose the game, some people will say 'another useless hundred by Sachin'

I did, he was unplayable that day, I honestly thought that inswing was ridiculous. I had no clue why he only does that at Perth. But rest of the tour he was crap, so I was unhappy that they weren't able to see him off, or play smart cricket enough to survive him and take runs off the rest.

This match is going to have a result certainly, we are into the third inning already in the second day of the match itself.

India !!!!

It's a result wicket for sure.

Look at the scenarios:

2-0 England

or

1-1

Massive margins.

That's what scares me , can't play out for a draw if things get out of hand. BOWLING HAS GOT TO COME GOOD AGAIN !

You can forget the draw here.

All up to the bowlers first and then the batsmen to knock off the runs. Pivotal Test of the series.
