Hypothetical Test draft - 10 participants to pick their teams [Completed]

Thanks to [MENTION=151648]therealAB[/MENTION] for the idea. He will also be one of the 10 participants.

Everyone will take their picks until each team has 11 players. Then, we will do a poll.

Points to lay out:

Snake draft, randomised

24 hour time limit, upon returning after missing picks you can pick straight away

Only achievements after WW1 count

No Bradman

There are 110 picks to be made, and if we continue at this pace it could take us a month to complete :afridi
 
Generally these things go pretty slowly, especially when people are in different time zones, so strap in for the long haul:cummins

I have a feeling this is going to be a very difficult snake draft. There’s 16 picks between now and my next pick, 12 for you! Can you imagine? That’s an entire World XI and a half worth of players out of the equation :)))

West Indian star power is incredible.

3/5 draft picks from West Indies and all batsmen primarily.

Hands down West Indies has left such a legacy.

The Top 10 draft picks are going to be a class of their own and an interesting estimate of where a lot of these players stand value wise in eyes of fans.

But OP would need to be updated regularly by a mod then. An editable google doc spreadsheet in OP could be updated by any participant

It was between Sir Garfield and Sir Viv for me as well.

No doubt SGS brings way more value.

I had to compensate for missing out on Tendulkar in my middle order. Some one had to be there to set the fire and couldn't think of anyone else.

If i had Tendulkar i would have gone for SGS as my 2nd pick
 
i feel that he is a comparable batsmen to Viv, Sachin, Lara etc but has so much more value. Also very aggresive batsman.

Without doubt..

As a batsman alone SGS is among the very best ever. His 254 against Lillee as part of World XI in 1971 is one of the greatest knocks ever playee.

He hit 6 sixes in an over once. He was explosive when he needed to be.

And value wise it's no comparison. I am not particularly a fan of paper ARs being considered more valuable than specialists but Sobers was no paper AR. He was an impact player.

He was a franchise in himself

Definitely a 5 in one. I’m impatient for the snake draft to come around again, will be very interesting to see what cricketers have been picked

That will be troubling as posters might pick up players they were not initially intending on.

You have to make two picks, and then it’s back to him. Can’t skip him again. Too many ifs and hypotheticals. We are forced to wait in my opinion
 
He has up to 24 hours. If we want to replace this with a different time (say 14 hours) we can but it has only been his pick for 6 hours, he could be working/sleeping
