Hypothetical ODI draft

Viv bad all 80's players suck freelance_cricketer.

Bairstow can play swing hahaha wrong.

great team man

Bairstow averages nearly 40 in test cricket playing most of his games in england .Thats more than enough proof that he can play swing.
On the other hand people have selected bevan, yuvi, hetmyer with avg of 20s in test, bairsow is obviously better than all of them against swing

Suresh Raina was an inspiring selection. Well done for showing confidence.

I was tempted to pick Ajay Jadeja just to give it to you during this draft :yk but thankfully didn't give in to the urge :))

Btw Shane Warne threw a cigerette at Saqlain being called GOAT
:warne
WARNE avgs 26 in odis with one fifer(less than sachin tendulkar:yk) saqlain avgs 21.8 with 6 fifers, thers no comparison brother.

Shane Warne produced ATG and never seen again bowling spells in QF 1996, SF 1999 however.

Those are spells that have not been produced again.

In SF 1999, Shane Warne was 9 overs, 13 runs, 4 wickets something going into his last over

Bairstow is better than Hetmyer there is no arguement there there's a reason why he is opening

Hetmyer is batting at 6, he's comparable to Raina and Miller from your team. It gets subjective down there they are all pretty much at par

yep agreed I was just taking the ****. Bairstow better than many of the bats picked in test

@freelance_cricket maddgenius Thunderbolt14. For next draft thinking of having max 1 player that debuted from 1900's to 2010's. ! player has to be from 1910's or 1940's, combined due to war. Thoughts?

By the way, now that I picked him and we discussed him a lot, there's a lot more to be loved about this 22 year old guy Shimron Hetmyer.

Like for example, he bats with a hat against spinners.

Players stopped wearing those a long time ago.

Great to see keeping the tradition alive

Or like Michael Vaughans idea od two players from.each decade

My last pick is a left-field one.

This guy is more known for being a middle-order batsman. With a bucketload of runs, 12,650 of them to be exact.

He is not a regular opener, but he did open on occasions and averaged 40+ with a SR of 90+.

A man with centuries in a World Cup semi-final and a World Cup final. A player for the big stage :amla

Make him as captain instead of Azharuddin.

Why didn’t you go for Haynes?

Well done bro.

As an ODI batsman he was definitely ahead of Sangakkara as accepted by Sangakkara himself manh times publically

Make him as captain instead of Azharuddin.

Absolutely no way unless Azharuddin is banned for fixing :yk

Azharuddin was one of the best ODI batsmen of the 1989#-90s

For instance he was way better than Salim Malik, Ijaz :yk

Left him for you :srt

The SR was just too low and unlike Greenidge, he didn't really have a reputation for being an aggressive batsman. No standout performances in World Cups either.

The strike rate is the problem for me as well, but last_knight says he could play aggressive shots and was a brilliant close-in fielder.

I never saw him as such so I am confused :afaq

Surprisingly no one picked Deepak Patel but then again some of the posters say there are no spinners left.

Now that I am done with my CI, I can offer consultancy services. :afridi

Ab Fan Why would you pick Swan? You have Aravinda and Sehwag for offspin options :danish
A pacer like Mcdermott, Ntini, Shami, Rabada would be a way better pick than Swan for you. I'd also recommend Shaheen Afridi :ssa

For their final pick, the Hakeems pick a true gentleman of the game and one of the greatest LOI openers ever. With over 8000 runs, avg of 50 and strike rate of 88 and holding recordings such as being the fastest to 5000, 6000 and 7000 runs - he's a true great of the game.

Please welcome. Hashim Amla :salute

I did ishtakara for long time for that then left it to others :yk , if you want you can still pick Swann and I will take back Shami if it is allowed :afridi

Yea I think you can trade picks after everyone has made a pick.

You didn't picked Aaron Finch :inti

No one has picked Patrick Patterson who had an excellent odi record as well as WC record as well.

It would be travesty if one of modern day greats like Amla wasn't selected :))

True.

I thank you for showing the courage to pick him.

Its sad that Amla has become Voldemort on PP that people even fear taking his name that other posters will ridicule them.

Amla has amazing numbers. Must be respected.

The Hakeems Final XI - thanks to last_knight for the great inputs as well:

1) David Warner
2) Hashim Amla
3) Ricky Ponting (c)
4) Sangakarra (wk)
5) Kevin Pietersen
6) Andrew Symonds
7) Andrew Flintoff
8) Shaun Pollock
9) Dale Steyn
10) Nathan Bracken
11) Saeed Ajmal

Probably one of the few teams that bat pretty deep and with 5 genuine wicket taking options.

therealAB next time whenever draft is can we do it as a group?

Pollock is one of the best ODI bowlers, look at his economy, it's 3.5.

Yeah, I'd pick Swann who's an attacking spinner unlike Jadeja, Kumble

Cheers Haleema. Nice batting.

Also if people put their issues with Ajju to rest and rate for his bowling figures this is a damn good bowling line up too.

Am very curious to see who Thunderbolt14 picks as the wicket keeper
