Might have something to do with the fact that Pant is 21 and Pandey is 29, Pant can improve, this is the best Pandey will ever be.
 
West Indies all-round Kieron Pollard has been fined 20% of his match fee and handed one demerit point for breaching Level One of the ICC Code of Conduct during India’s second T20I game against the West Indies in Florida.

Pollard was found to have breached Article 2.4 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to disobeying an Umpire’s instruction during an international match.

The incident occurred after the player called a substitute onto the field despite having been repeatedly told by the umpires that a request must be made for a substitute to come onto the field and being advised to wait until the end of the next over. Pollard failed to follow the umpire’s instructions.

The player denied the offence and as such had a formal hearing in front of match referee Jeff Crowe of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees. Pollard was found guilty following the hearing and fined 20% of his match fee and consequently has had one demerit point added to his record.

On-field umpires Nigel Duguid and Gregory Braithwaite, third umpire Leslie Reifer and fourth official Patrick Gustard levelled the charges.

Rohit Sharma, Dhoni, Kohli everyone had to go through this phase at some point of their career (in the beginning of their career!) We have to see things from bigger perspective! Pant is prioritized because he is a successor to Dhoni (Wicket-Keeping), nobody looks more potent than Pant to take up that role in the coming years! If he was just a batsman, we could have employed your logic probably... But I know you will say something else... Dhoni can play as long as he wants (still), DK can still take up the backup job! Because they all have better stats and so-called consistency! Pant can come in only if he does magic (like how Rohit does after playing international cricket for 5 years!) to justify the hype! This is not how a player (and team) is developed! You need certain players to be hyped, that's how the game runs (Even England hyped Stokes- so he played a key role in the finals!)

Not sure what you are blabbering about here. When you have nothing else to say you try to make stuff up. Where did I say Dhoni can play as long as he wants? Once again Dhoni has nothing to do with Pant's poor performances. How hard is it to drill this in your brain? Pant deserves criticism as much as any other player who performs like this. I have put the stats in front of you would you like to put some 'prakash or roshni' over it without bringing players who are no longer in the team? :inti

Pandey made his debut in 2015 and has played just 23 ODIs and 30 T20s. His ODI average is 36 and T20 average is 37. Thats good for a player who keeps getting dropped after 2-3 failures and is not a regular. If the team management starts showing same confidence in players like Manish Pandey, Iyer as they are doing in Pant's case, they will perform much better than that tullaybaaz Pant. Pandey should bat at 4. Pant should bat at 6. :inti

After playing two games in the United States, the teams head to the Caribbean for the rest of the matches.

The hosts have included all-rounder Fabian Allen in the squad, replacing Khary Pierre for the third and final T20I. West Indies' struggles with the bat have been evident in both the games with only Kieron Pollard and Rovman Powell making substantial contributions. On both occasions, their openers were dismissed for single-digit scores.

As for India, their young bowlers have been impressive so far. With the series wrapped up, Virat Kohli indicated they might make changes to their XI, so Shreyas Iyer, the top-order batsman, or Rahul Chahar, the wrist-spinner, might get a game.

Remember the last time

West Indies struggled to find their mojo in the first two T20Is against India, losing the first game by four wickets and the second by 22 runs on DLS method, allowing India to seal the series with a 2-0 lead. In the second game, India opener Rohit Sharma made a brisk 67 before Krunal Pandya's 13-ball 20* provided the late thrust to take them to 167/5. Pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Washington Sundar sent the openers back early, while Krunal claimed the wickets of Nicholas Pooran and set batsman Powell. West Indies were 98/4 in 15.3 overs with two new batsmen at the crease requiring 70 off 27 before rain played spoilsport.

Rovman Powell (West Indies): "We think this Indian team is beatable and it's just for us to string together good performances to show people that."

Krunal Pandya (India): "It is good that everyone has contributed, whether it is bowling or batting. Overall, it's a good team performance."

Conditions
The last men's T20I game played at the venue was back in 2010. The ground has since been used for CPL games and the ICC Women's World T20 2018. The pitch tends to be on the slower front, and is likely to assist spinners. Weather-wise, clouds or scattered thundershowers are expected.

Your very last line says it all... Once he plays as wicket-keeper batsman (as in Tests, batting at No.6 or No.7) he will start showing consistency! But he is being asked to play as specialist batsman and is given a stupid responsibility for reasons which we know (and which you ignore!) Pandey, Iyer, Gill - all these guys should compete for that No.4 Spot. But unfortunately we saw DK, Pant, Dhoni fighting for that spot (Dhoni conveniently escaped from it, because he knew he didn't belong there!) And Rahul competes for the same No.4 (should be competing with Dhawan/Rohit/Kohli for Top.3)

But not many know that it is Kohli who suits to that No.4 position (like in tests), that will solve all the issues and the batting order gets stabilized!

You are not criticizing him, you want him to be dropped! That is your way of criticizing! I can't criticize him for what is happening at the moment. He is being asked to bat at No.4 and is indirectly told that you can be in the team only as specialist batsman (that means he has to compete with other specialist batsmen!) We know that Dhoni will come back (once the world cup heat is cooled down and the IPL approaches! I know you hate IPL, but when it comes to how Dhoni uses IPL as darling - you will keep quite about that!) Pant is not assured that he is Dhoni's successor and he is not given the proper grooming! By the time Dhoni completely quits and Pant gets completely in, there is a threat that Pant may lose his touch (This is more important than criticizing/bashing/dropping Pant!)

Pant is batting at 4 and getting enough time to get his eye in but he is still averaging 16. This is why I want him to bat lower down the order not because he is going to finish the inning with sixes and fours lol.

And Dhoni uses IPL as his darling? Is that my problem or yours? I don't even watch IPL. Dhoni has been in Indian cricket way before IPL came into existence. If it was not Pant you would have also dropped a player who average just 16 after 17 games. Very important and T20 career saving match for Pant today. :inti
 
Why India is so poor at producing wk batsman luckily we got Dhoni if you leave him our other choices were dk, parthiv. Leave batting you can't even trust their keeping. After Dhoni retires our real problem begins our choices are srikhar bharat, Pant(Remaining players aren't that consistent in domestics). I think we should give equal chances to both of them.

Before Dhoni we had Mongia, Sameer Dighe, Ajay Ratra, MSK Prasad, Vijay Dahiya. He has set the bar too high for upcoming wicket keeper batsmen. :inti

Chahar is so good with new ball. In ipl batman even top batsmen used to struggle to play him. Hope he improves his bowling at death.

Exactly that’s why I was so surprised the speed gun in the World Cup was messed up it showed bhuvi bowling at 140-145 I’m like not even in another world this guy can bowl 140 his max is like 135 and some Indians got ****** here that no he can easily bowl 140+ lol

Not really it’s more to do with the bowler deepak he’s a genuine swing bowler he swings its yards but yes overcast conditions it will swing in Guyana similar conditions to England

He created sensation with his banana inswingers in the domestic cricket. Until he played for CSK he was a non-entity. If you want recognition you need to play either for CSK or Mumbai Indians.
 
I am tired of seeing Dhawan/Rohit at the top order in every goddamn limited over match. FOr heavensake take some rest and let the youngsters play. I even want Kohli out if possible.
 
Don't see the point in playing so many T20s - 1 is enough. Play an extra test or odi instead.

India ain’t winning the t20 World Cup even if they play another straight 100 t20s before the World Cup they don’t have that type of a team this team is so unbalanced like by the time of the World Cup I can assure you half of the players would be diffeent lol
 
Tired of seeing the old players like Pandey, Dhawan. T20 should be used for freshing young blood. Rana, Gill missed out.

Not "old" same old means same guys who are unfit for T20. Pandey was not even good enough for SRH team which already has a weak batting line up. Not sure how he is a better player for India.

I am talking about bilateral T20. This is the format which no team cares for. Everyone is using it to test some youngsters to get some hit. Bilateral T20 <<<<< IPL . If you continue to deny that then you are living in denial.

Lol man leagues are hoax’s look at pandya outside of IPL and in IPL and Sunil marine for example international t20s are different and way more competitive nobody is there to test anything everyone plays to win it’s international cricket just cause kohli thinks he’s too cool for bilateral t20s and skips them doesn’t mean they are meaningless.

Intensity level is completely different. If you play IPL on these pitches, results are going to be similar to what you see here. Not the same kind of pitches you see in India.

Pant is in the side as a keeper. If he goes isan Kishan or Sanju Samson will replace him not Manish pandey. Manish pandey will be replaced by some other young talent. Why are you comparing them. For the record Manish Pandey earned his recognition only through IPL with a century in the IPL semi final. Both are IPL products.

I’ve heard it’s his best format.

As an opener he is very aggressive in T20, ODI, Tests. in all formats. Once you push him down the order he tries to change his game and performs poorly. Even in Tests he tried play like T20 and made a fool of himself.

He did on one tour. He had different issues at different parts of his career. First he had this conversion issues. 8 fifties in a row or something. Then this boom or bust issue. Either 50 or single digit. Most recent issue "bowled" issue. He frequently gets clean bowled by seamers. Never reached the heights that he was expected to reach. Part of the reason is inconsistent selection.
 
These pitches are not exactly belters. If it is in the arc you can hit. Otherwise it is hard.
 
Expecting a boring ODI series. Pitches are not good. If T20 can be this boring, ODI will be even more boring.

Seems like Pant has learned from his mistakes. Good to see.

Contrary to what a lot of posters feel, he has shown that he does use his brain while batting and isn't a mindless hack.

Excited to see him in ODIs and tests.

He is a smart batsman. He has a solid defense. We remember only his hoicked sixes. He is a much better batsman than that. Proved in Tests in Australia against a good bowling attack.
 
Legends pant and kohli lol saved me a 100$ but coming to the main point anyone getting excited by seeing pant play well today don’t get too happy he will get out on a cheap score in the next three innings and score a 40 in the 4th one
 
Poor kohli he’s too good for these school level cricketers only here to save his captaincy otherwise he would be on on some holiday in Bali with anushka
