What's new

India [252] defeat New Zealand [217] by 35 runs to win the 5th ODI and win series 4-1

Not really sure how much we can leave for the A/Rs.

They're not consistent and who knows what they'll do today.

Kanes job is to get this to 200 off 44 overs.
He can do as he pleases to get there because you will lose if he doesn't make a score.
Doesn't matter how deep u bat or the time he is taking

Bhuvi is Australia ODI series - 8 wickets at 17 with strike rate 21

Shami in Aus ODI series -5 wickets at 30 with strike rate 35

For some reason Indian fans are extremely biased against Bhuvi to the extent it seems staggering. Any excuse to want him out

When it comes to test, Ishant's RECENT form is considered for him to be selected over Bhuvi, Bhuvi who has a career average of 26 in tests after over 20 games. But when it comes to ODI's recent form is not

Pace is often touted completely ignorning his increase in pace. In fact he was the fastest bowler last match, on par with Pandya

Some sort of ridiculous biasedness

Bhuvi 103* matches, 113 wickets
Shami 59* matches, 108 wickets
The reason for this bias is called 'wicket taker'

Kane has to open for NZ thats the only place for a batsman like him. May be Munro can be pushed at no. 6.

He is big time bhuvi fan. If you ask him who is better bhuvi or bumrah then expect bhuvi as answer.

Jadhav bowls half trackers with batsman having a year to decide where to hit and in the end they end up hitting it to a fielder.

What was that?

pitching outside.

Shocking, no review again.

Pathetic Cricket from New Zealand today. Should have reviewed the Taylor one and now Latham too .

You guys are horrible. Losing to India D team without Kohli, Bumrah and Kuldeep.

That too after giving toss decision advantage also! Still couldn't capitalize... These are practice matches for India though!

Interesting game, I thought NZ will chase this easily, bu they have lost their way in the past half hour. Can their all rounders get em home?

Home smashes Pandya for 2 :four

We gave India 100+ runs, if Kane wanted to end it he would have bowled Boult and Henry out and then used Santner and Astle in the middle when India were looking to accumulate.

None of his bowling rotations were optimal and had the upcoming WC selections behind it.

All in all, Aus with their D team gave India tough time. NZ on the other hand have got totally owned.
NZ are not a sure shot SF contender imo.

Good thing to come out of this is Munro and CdG failed, hope neither waste a spot.

Neesham, Santner, Astle and Henry, need them to see us home.

Can't beat India even when we are without Bumrah, Kohli and Kuldeep. Our three world class players. Smh

According to Aman, they're just warming up and this is a fluke so this is all according to plan.

Aman I have nothing against the Kiwis bro. If anything they are a likeable group. Its fans like you with so many excuses (just saw your posts after the 1st ODI) that makes us feel weird. I mean, there is poor display, then there is this performance against a poor Indian side.

It's funny Indians go after me then throw the same line of playing your d team when you were all offended by the notion of Aus being weakened without their two best batsmen.

Both teams have treated this like a warm up, India batted first again when conditions were good for bowling and NZ used their A/Rs in the middle when they should have looked to bowl India out for under 100 again.

No issue with other India opting to field first as it is a good challenge for them to defend dewnconditions

TBF I'd quit watching cricket if i start praising our biggest cricket rivals in order to hide the pathetic performance of my team. I really feel for you.

Cricket is a secondary sport here, there isn't much of rivalry in cricket because of the wide gap in quality and interest.

They're too far out. If they were closer to 200, I'd give NZ a chance. It's an inevitability now tbh.
If they can handle the spinners they can do it. Neesham is pretty solid, not sure of him against quality spin though or in a situation like this.

They need to be able to finish games in these positions, there isn't that much run rate pressure.

Lol. You're losing it pal . How does it matter that "Cricket is a secondary sport" for the rivalry?
Even in England, Cricket is secondary but their rivalry with Australia is well known.
Atleast speak with a meaning.

If there isn't much fan fare obviously it's going to hurt it. The little that is there is more a sibling thing and it's one sided. Aus expects to beat us, they don't see us as rivals.

It's kind of like the ABs-Wallabies in rugby but with interest, the rivalry is not really there anymore because we expect to beat them and we do.

Neesham and Santner can win this for NZ... just need to rotate strike well.. boundaries will come

True that... Wonder why NZ doesnt play as a part of Aussie domestic circuit. They should do that...

Neesham looks like such a good cricketer, not sure why he isnt a constant fixture in this kiwi team.
