Thank god we had Root in this match, Fatel would've screwed us completely.

Why right handed Jimmy Anderson bowler playing as left handed, can some one please tell me. Stuart broad also do this but why

327, 142, 316, 247.

Those are the last four scores India have had this series. England need at least 330 to have a decent chance at this game.

He does it because it suits him stylistically. He learned to bat left handed from when he was young. It actually helps a fair bit because he can pull off a reverse sweep pretty well because he's switching into a naturally stronger arm when he does it.

England are playing this whole thing out very well, still don't understand the vilification and gloom.

He has goweresque cover drive! An impish 20 odd from him here would be great :D

I know, I've said it before. He looks totally uncomfortable when he gets out, or when he bats rather. But he has one of the most aesthetically pleasing cover drives. It's top-order batsman quality.

Wow Swann playing a gem here! This is his best knock since that 80 odd in SA.

It's a poor pitch, but our set batsmen fell to stupid shots. This is not a safe score.

From cricinfo,

"Root's 229 balls puts him second in
most faced in debut innings for England. Behind WG Grace's effort in 1880!"

👏

A third of the overs in the game gone, and England 320/8 in the first innings out of four? Wow! It's very difficult to lose a Test match from there.

You can see GG, Pujara and even Ashwin digging in on this.

SIX!!!!!! for Swanny!

The pitch is expected to be a minefield late day 3? Early day 4? Plenty of time for India to rack up a 100 run lead in the first innings and perhaps force us for a low total.

Oh Swanny you're such a good batsman, why would you do that often when you can hit them clean down the ground? Could've easily got another 20 odd runs.

Look at Chawla gasping and sweating through that water bottle lol, looks like the fat roly poly kid from school who gets three slices of pizza every morning break.

Not gonna happen. Time for you to cheer up! The series is coming home.

lol now lots of boundary men for Jimmy, maybe they have mistook jimmy for Lara.

A 2-2 might be a decent result, but it would feel a loss to me. I know quite well how England loses series that we should hold on to. Eng in SA comes to mind when we were 1-0 up with one game to go.

Jimmy has the better timing and technique, but Monty goes for his shots with more power. Perhaps they're both rather interesting in stalling the game instead.

130/5 to 330 is still a v.good recovery.I doubt India's last 5 could have pulled this off.

330 all out

good bowling performance considering the pitch n our bowling resources

330 all out is a good bowling performance for this pitch n our bowlers

Why the negative outlook? That series in SA may very well have been 1-2 down going into the final test had your boys not hung in for the draw.

At the start of the match, England had a 33% chance of losing this match. With the amount of overs consumed, that has dropped considerably, and they would require an epic collapse to lose from here because I don't see India scoring 600 at 5 runs per over.

We're quite good at that.

Too bad.....Chawla was easily the worst bowler on show, with his line and lengths all over the place. But he ends up with 4 wickets.

Hope, the people who select were actually watching and dont go by the scoreline. He shouldnt be in a test team.

Test rests on Sehwag, if he get going India can win this Test, otherwise it's going to be a big defeat.

Ruri's glass has always been half empty. But he will be delighted when England proves him wrong :)

Indian batsmen are out of form and unpredictable so 330 is very good score for Eng & have a good chance to win this test match if they bundle up India to 200.

India have good experience in playing on this kind of pitches and their batsmen are unpredictable so they might put up a good total.
Only hope for India to win this match is a quick 100 from Sehwag otherwise it will be very difficult for India to win this match.

Ya true donno how he ended up with 4 wickets, was the worst bowler on show. Jadeja looked the most threatening I thought out of the spinners. Ishant clearly the best bowler for India this innings.

Indian commentary box went deathly silent to that, comedy gold.

:))) :))) :)))
