They don't need to take wickets though, they just need to keep the scoring rate down and the wickets will come. The pressure is on India to try and create a win to save the series.

Very attritional conditions still. Finn was the trump card who can take the pitch out of the equation with his pace, so he will be missed.

Best plan is to bowl the spinners (Root is also reputedly a handy part-time option) until the ball starts reversing, because Jimmy and Bresie can both do that.

Unless they skittle India, England won't be batting again for a while anyway.

True, this pitch is hard for run scoring and wicket taking so the onus is on India to push for the win which is going to be tricky.
