Liverpool FC 2025/26 Season

Mac10 has been dogs tatti take the geezer off! He lost the ball a million times it feels today! Cause him everton scored 2-1 now! 58min

Finished 2-1 Liverpool. Everton played really well after going 2-0 down. Credit where it’s due.

Wirtz 🤣🤣🤣🤣

£116m down the drain.
Still early to judge. But Ngl. Not feeling the vibes so far. German league so slower, Wirtz takes too long to decide. Also stuffs he does he might’ve got away in Bundesliga but in PL they close in faster with faster pressing so u gotta be quick to release the ball and be decisive

5 out of 5 wins for Liverpool. Onto the next won. Champions winning even without playing their best in all 5 games.

5 from 5 !

Scintillating football to go 2-0 up but again we became sloppy in possession and lost control.

MacAllister just doesn't look match fit. Jones was excellent after coming on - the only one with any composure on the ball.

Only mitigating factor is that we had very little recovery after Atletico. Playing Weds night then Sat at 12.30 not ideal.

Play the kids on Tues now.

He isn’t quick enough to play on the wing, and he doesn’t have the work rate play in a midfield three. I don’t think he is tactically suitable for this Liverpool team.

Yes early days but this has Grealish to City kind of signing written all over it. I won’t be surprised if he is back in Germany in two years time.

Everton moaning about the referee seem to have amnesia - their equaliser at Goodison in Feb came well beyond the allotted stoppage time.

And who can forget Tarkowski getting away with a yellow for a horror tackle in the reverse fixture.

I am loving our rivals salty tears!

All these fans crying about added times vs Liverpool…your teams also had the same added times!
Tbf 3 mins is a bit of a wild one, not a chance they only give 3 mins if Liverpool are drawing/losing

There were 6 subs and a goal, the guidance is usually 30 seconds for each of these, that's 3.5 mins and then on top there would have been other incidents

Back in the day this is what used to happen in favour of Man U

Whilst I don't think there is some premier league conspiracy but do think there is an unconscious bias taking place

Bhai, I respectfully disagree on the 2nd part, after the David Coote fiasco, I think that was the tip of the iceberg of what has gone on vs Liverpool in the past.

The first part I agree r.e. 3mins was not enough and should have been around 5mins added kn.

I think David Coote was just a massive coke head, not sure he was part of some conspiracy to go against Liverpool

And again, I'm not suggesting there is a conspiracy at play here

Liverpool are the best team in the league, just like Man U were under Fergie and as a result I think referees do end up favouring them

Just to be clear I'm not saying that is the reason they are first, that isn't the case, they are first because ultimately they've picked up the points they've needed to

No worries at all, I was not suggesting that you were talking a conspiracy etc.

I think Liverpool with the anti establishment nature of the place, this does not endear them to the powers that be in the FA.

Don’t Liverpool get the least number of red cards? I think the reality of Liverpool is different to what they’d like to project. They are not the modest spenders they pretended to be (that theory has been laid to rest this summer) nor an anti-establishment club cuz I think they are usually beneficiaries of referees’ decisions with the exception of one or two incidents. Just my observations.

It is blatantly obvious that Liverpool have the PGMOL in their pockets. Kop time is the new Fergie time. Liverpool fans can deny it but it doesn’t change th reality and it’s not sour grapes, it’s facts.

However, this doesn’t change the fact that they have a top team but God willing, their demise will start soon and it will be self-inflicted.

Wirtz is a disastrous signing. Whoever made the call on him and for that price will have to pay a price, and they signed Ekitike out of spite but now they don’t know what to do with him and Isak.

By signing both, they have created a problem that didn’t exist in the first place. Ekitike has been very impressive and has done nothing to deserves getting relegated to the bench, while Isak forced his way to Liverpool with the expectation that he will be the main man upfront.

They both cannot play together and like we saw with Haaland and Alvarez, this isn’t sustainable. One of Isak or Ekitike will leave the club soon and either way, it will be Liverpool’s loss and poor planning.

Liverpool fans should enjoy their little honeymoon period because things are about to go south for them and it will lead to Arsenal’s golden period.

@KingKhanWC @all the lfc fans here. Any predictions for the match??

Another entertaining game of football . Everton are a much better team under Moyes but Liverpool started quickly , knowing the opposition players will be more fitter in the 2nd half with a weeks rest .

You could see a huge difference in the quality of the players , it was a comfortable win , even the 2nd Everton battled hard , they had no real clear chances but managed to score a good goal.

Liverpool are still in 2nd gear , by December this team should be gelled into something scary to face by any opposition.

Arsenal play City , one or both may drop points , 5/6 points lead after 5 matches is a perfect start for this team do defend their title . Arsenal should beat city at home but under Arteta they could lose this too . If city win arsenL are top 4 side , it will go back to the good olds days of red v blue

By writing the word fact it doesn’t make some idiotic theory become a fact lol .

This guy thinks PL stands for Peshawari League where you can buy off the politicians, referees and doctors

Leicester had the fewest red cards last season (0). We were joint 4th.

As for spending - our net spend in the last 5 years ranks 6th. Man Utd and Arsenal top that particular table.

I don’t have a problem with Liv spending money, it’s just that Liv fans attributed City’s success to money and now can’t accept the same for themselves.

City won 4 titles due to great manager and excellent recruitment. They are yet to be found guilty of any wrongdoing so far . Liverpool were very close but have developed the new squad better than city imo .

If city win at the emirates they will compete for the title this season

Ekitike red card. Silly. Will miss next PL match + Leoni injury.

Not getting Guehi in early was a blunder.

It was amateurish getting that second yellow but he’s a young gifted player , seeing him loving scoring goals and playing for Liverpool is a good sign . Isak scored, now has an opportunity to start

'Emotions got better of me' - Ekitike's 'stupidity' opens door for Isak

On a night when Liverpool celebrated the goalscoring arrival of their record signing Alexander Isak, a moment of madness has proved costly for their other in-form forward.

Hugo Ekitike scored the winner in Tuesday's 2-1 victory against Southampton to progress to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

But, caught up in the moment of his 85th-minute goal, striker Ekitike removed his shirt and held it up to the Liverpool fans in celebration.

He most likely knew he would get booked for that and was happy it was a price worth paying, but what he had seemingly forgotten is that he had already been shown a yellow card.

The sending-off means he will be suspended for Saturday's Premier League game at Crystal Palace - not ideal when the player he is potentially in a battle for a starting spot with is returning to full fitness.

Ekitike went on social media on Tuesday night to apologise, saying: "I was so excited to help the team achieve another victory here in our home for my first Carabao Cup match.

"The emotion got the better of me. My apologies to all the Red family. Thanks to the fans who always support us and to my team-mates for this victory!"

But, speaking just after the game, his manager Arne Slot was left bemused by the incident.

"It is not [stupid] because it was his second [yellow] - it's stupid even if you haven't had a yellow card yet," he said.

"Maybe I'm a bit old-fashioned but I did score a few goals - not at his level but I did - and if I went past three players and put it in the top corner then maybe you can say 'this is all about me'.

"But if I scored a goal like he did tonight, I would turn to Chiesa and say 'it's about you Federico - great assist, great run and I didn't have to do a lot'. Maybe that's me being old-school.

"It was stupid, not smart in every sense. The good thing is that his team-mates helped him to get the win over the line, but the thing is he is now suspended for Saturday and that is far from ideal."

How costly could it be for Ekitike?

Liverpool signed Ekitike for £69m in July from Eintracht Frankfurt and he has started the season in excellent form.

Leading the line while the Reds completed the deal for Isak and then took their time working the Sweden forward up to full fitness, he has scored three goals in five Premier League games and provided one assist.

That has helped Liverpool win every game they have played since their Community Shield defeat by Crystal Palace on 10 August, and underlines his importance to the team, regardless of his unnecessary dismissal on Tuesday.

Indeed, both cards he picked up were needless. Replacing Isak for the start of the second half he was booked soon after when he threw the ball in the air after being penalised for a foul.

"For Ekitike to get a second yellow card for that [taking his shirt off] is just sheer stupidity," former Premier League striker Chris Sutton said on BBC Radio 5 Live.

"He's been such an important player for Liverpool so far this season - what a start to his Liverpool career, important goal [against Southampton] - but that's not great for Arne Slot if he's sitting out the game at the weekend."

The main thing Ekitike is likely to take from this is an important learning experience.

"I'd be very surprised if he does it again," added Slot.

"He probably forgot he got a yellow. He's young and he will learn from it. I'm sure he won't do it again."

Is Isak ready to start against Palace?

Isak has had his playing time carefully managed since joining Liverpool.

His two starts have been in cup competitions - playing 58 minutes against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on 17 September and then this first-half appearance against Southampton.

In the Premier League he has made just one appearance - coming off the bench in the 67th minute in the 2-1 win against Everton at the weekend.

Isak's half-time departure against the Saints was likely because Slot had one eye on the weekend as well, so may have already been planning to give him more game time at Crystal Palace.

As well as scoring against Southampton, he also had a big chance early on but fired straight at goalkeeper Alex McCarthy.

"I feel good," Isak told ITV. "With every game I play it is very helpful and gets me in better shape."

On if he feels ready to start, he added: "It is difficult to say. It is a mixture of fitness-wise and football-wise.

"I feel good and feel I am in a shape to make a difference."

Leoni out for the season. Sad for the kid.

Very unlucky, I thought he did well in the league cup match.

Gomez needs to stay fit until at least Jan, we will then buy someone if needed.

In other news Heskey the former LFC strikers two kids made their debuts last night.

Congratulations to Liverpool for winning the 2025/26 Premier League and for becoming the most successful club in English football by number of league titles won.

That was an awful performance vs Soton. Kept misplacing simple passes and invited pressure on ourselves.

ACL injury and a needless suspension to top it off.

Could've done with Ekitike. Palace are unbeaten in 17 and are a well drilled team.

Liverpool big crackdown on ticket touting revealed

Liverpool have shut down 145,000 ticket accounts over the past two years as part of a crackdown against touting, BBC Sport can reveal.

They also issued a record 1,114 lifetime bans last season - a move that followed the discovery of mass manipulation of software used to buy tickets.

Eleven applied to season ticket holders.

The Premier League champions said 500 people were denied entry to Anfield for trying to gain access with a burner phone - used by touts to avoid tickets being traced - in the last 12 months.

It comes after the industrial-scale black market in Premier League tickets was exposed by a BBC Sport investigation last week.

Re-selling is against UK law, but many websites continue to operate by being based outside the country.

The BBC found that resellers often use bot software and fake identities to hoover up hundreds of tickets to be sold on for higher prices, impacting fans' ability to attend games via official exchanges or membership ballots.

It can leave supporters paying extortionate prices, or being completely out of pocket after buying tickets that do not work, as well as undermining segregation of fans.

Investigators for Liverpool also shut down 162 social media groups - with a combined membership of more than one million users - that were involved in selling fake tickets that never materialised or reselling real tickets at extortionate rates.

Meanwhile, just under 400 targeted stops were also carried out on match days, preventing access to the turnstiles for accounts with suspicious activity.

The 1,114 lifetime bans represent a huge increase on the 75 imposed across the 2023-24 campaign.

Across the 2023-24 season, Liverpool closed 100,000 fake accounts, and believe new preventative measures including multi-factor authentication, single sign-on and the implementation of more advanced fraud analysis tools, have made a difference.

The club - which has more than 30,000 season ticket holders - operates an official sanctions process, where senior club officials and a member from an independent supporter association hear cases and decide on the appropriate course of action.

The majority of lifetime bans and indefinite suspensions the club handed down were for unauthorised selling of season tickets, memberships or hospitality tickets.

Liverpool is one of a number of clubs vowing to increase resources to target those involved in the proliferation of touting activity.

Arsenal say they have cancelled almost 74,000 accounts attempting to obtain tickets in unauthorised ways and banned over 7,000 memberships this season. Chelsea claim to have blocked over 350,000 attempted purchases from bots.

However, the head of the Football Supporters Association Tom Greatrex told BBC Sport that he questioned how committed some Premier League clubs were to tackling touting.

"Long-term supporters are finding it impossible to get tickets because of the way they are made available through secondary agencies," he said.

"This is becoming endemic across the game."

The Premier League urges fans to use "extreme caution" when using unauthorised sites and is introducing encrypted barcodes for digital ticketing which it says will make touting more difficult.

Only 12 arrests were recorded by the Home Office last season for ticket touting across the top six tiers of English football.

In a statement, the Department of Culture, Media and Sport said: "The unauthorised resale of football match tickets in England and Wales is illegal. Legislation is in place to minimise the risk of disorder, with football clubs responsible for implementing their own strategies to prevent ticket sales to unauthorised resellers.

"While the law applies only to domestic resales, it covers any element of an unauthorised sales chain that takes place within England and Wales."

Congratulations to Liverpool for winning the 2025/26 Premier League and for becoming the most successful club in English football by number of league titles won.

Matter of weeks before- "Arsenal on track" when they were top of the league after a couple of games.

To now this.....

Epic level of clownsmanship!

Inept at football.

Glasner has Palace so well drilled. That's three matches in a row we've failed to beat them.

We were poor in both boxes. Could've been 3-0 down at HT if it wasn't for Allison. Konate went full Djimi Traore.

No better was the front three who missed several chances. Chiesa was the only one with his shooting boots on.

With two tricky aways next week to Galatasaray and Chelsea, the manager needs to deliver a rocket.

Really poor from Liverpool, could have been 3/4 goals down by first half, club record transfer summer but don’t think Liverpool look unstoppable.

Writz has been POOR since joining. What happened to him? Isak should’ve scored couple today and Kerkez looks very limited in this Liverpool side.

It is correct as the usual posters in this thread have suddenly lost Internet connection.. very conviently 🙃🤭

Based on 1 fan?

You're very level headed but a defeat and only being 6 games in- still a lot to play for.

Palace were the better team and right now Konate is a huge liability.

Glad some humble pie has been served to Liv.

The ‘anti-establishment’ club (apparently that’s a title for a club that spends $600 million in a single window and is known to get favourable PGMOL decisions) needed this.

Lol.
6 games into a season? Humble pie?
Have been playing terrible! Defeat was a matter of time.... Palace deserved the win and rightfully so.

Very much is an anti establishment club, I know that bit hurts some people or some younger guys do not get it but Liverpool as a city is anti establishment- hence the historic notion of scousers being their own nationality.

500m in a window, sure, a hell of a lot of money and that was shocking! However, would be curious to see what each of the top 6 spent over the past 5 years?

PGMOL, definitely favours Liverpool- you are spot on there, I cannot recollect any terrible or shocking mistakes vs Liverpool and certainly do not recollect PGMOL or the review body admitting errors vs Liverpool.....

Liverpool fans were hyping Isak up as if he’s the next Henry, but let’s be real — he is nowhere near Julian Alvarez.

They have massively overpaid for both Wirtz and Isak. They are not value for money signings.

Speaking far too soon....

No hype at all.

Alvarez is a class act simply for his versatility.

In EAFC, I am sure things are different but in real life, we do tend to allow some time to reserve judgement....

Isak is not fit yet.

Isak is not fit yet.
He is injury prone, built like a twig. It’s not like once he gets fit he will be a tank for Liverpool.

Signings like him and Wirtz can easily backfire but the problem is that Arsenal’s senior players are in incompetent.

Guys like Rice, Saka, Saliba and Gabriel will never win the league under any manager. They don’t have the chops.

Football is unforgiving, if you are not 100% fit, you cannot succeed in PL. It's the case with him right now. Luckily Ekitike has found form and will start till Isak gets to full match fitness.

Arsenal have quality all round now but just not at top. He's a championship striker playing in the PL.

Yes, the guy who won the GM trophy and has 120+ G/As in less than 100 matches for Sporting is a championship striker, not to mention he outscores Isak easily when playing for Sweden alongside him. 🤣

Gyokeres will outscore Isak in the PL as well, but he needs better support from the midfield. It is not easy to be a prolific striker when you are playing with donkeys like Rice and Merino in midfield.

Hopefully, Gyokeres will starting finding the back of the net now that Odegaard and Saka are back and Eze is fully integrated in the team.

These three players wil create enough chances for him. Nonetheless, I have no faith as far as winning the PL is concerned.

The senior group who have been playing for multiple seasons and have the let the club down each season will not do anything different this season.

Arsenal will not win the league until Rice is at the heart of the midfield and Saka is not pushed for his place. Dowman has way more potential than him but he is very very young.

So, when Gyokeres plays "alongside" Isak, is that in a conventional front 2? Or, more realistically do we need to factor the positions they take up and the role in the side and the player that has the better overall game being asked to do other things whilst the more limited (but lethal finisher) is tasked as playing the more central role?

You have no idea about football- LOL, just because both are "forwards" and Swedish and play in the same line up, make a direct comparison despite their being a different ask?!?!?! LOL, you need to upgrade your Chat GPT version Peshwari Jimmy Hill.... it isn't a video game and you still have no footy IQ!!
