The stage is impeccably set for the much-anticipated clash between Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings in the third match of the Pakistan Super League 2024.

The battleground for this encounter will be the Multan Cricket Ground, where both teams are eager to kickstart their campaigns with a strong performance.

Having clinched the runner-up title in the previous season, Multan Sultans are determined to replicate their success in this edition. Their eyes are set on weaving the same magic that led them to the finals last time. Meanwhile, Karachi Kings are poised for redemption after a rather average performance in PSL 2023, aiming to showcase an improved and formidable display in the upcoming match.

The two teams have previously clashed in 11 matches, with Karachi Kings holding a slight advantage, winning 6 matches, while Multan Sultans secured 5 victories.

Multan Sultans have emerged as one of the most consistent teams in recent PSL seasons, reaching the finals in the last three campaigns. As they embark on a new season, the Sultans aim to maintain their impressive record.

Wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan will lead the Sultans, showcasing a solid batting lineup with local talents such as Yasir Shah, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Khushdil Shah.

Which side will come out on top?

Two most useless franchises run by the worst white ball mindsets in competition

Multan Sultans: +Mohammad Rizwan(c), Dawid Malan, Reeza Hendricks, Yasir Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Khushdil Shah, David Willey, Usama Mir, Abbas Afridi, Mohammad Ali, Shahnawaz Dahani.

Karachi Kings: James Vince, Shan Masood(c), +Saad Baig, Mohammad Nawaz, Shoaib Malik, Kieron Pollard, Daniel Sams, Hasan Ali, Tabraiz Shamsi, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Amir Khan.

Who picked up Arafat Minhas? Why didn’t he make the team for any franchise??

Clown rizwan benched him the whole season last year seems like it's dhan turn to bench him this year around.

Kuch hayaa hoti hai

Mir Hamza and Amir Khan have average economy rates of 8.5 and 9 (respectively).

KK’s bowling looks toothless.

Well done Mir Hamza

Beautiful wicket.

Love you my boy!

Mir has been so good. Should replace Rauf in the T20 side :)

I can enjoy this game now. My personal agenda is fulfilled for today

Sams is another guy with an economy rate of near 9.

3 accumulators in Multan top 3

Just let them bat and they will score a below par score

And don’t worry, Khushdil and Iftikhar will also waste 10 deliveries each

Good captaincy from Masood to bowl Hamza for a 3rd

125 kmh of hell if the ball is talking

Hamza is a beautiful bowler to watch in full flow

How did last year’s centurion of 30 balls, the Jungli opener not make it into this team for Sultans?

Arafat Minhas was Pakistan’s best player IMO for the u19s

It makes no sense for him to not make the XI

Really boring game

Feels like it’s Zimbabwe v Pakistan

I guess you cannot play Mo Nawaz and Arafat in the same game

There is never any harm in having left arm spin options.

Karachi need to get Seifert in and play Minhas in the Emerging category

Always a delight watching Hassan Ali running in and getting smashed

Hasan the man with flaring nostrils & a scowl on face is on - he acts like he is bowling 90mph thunderbolts :)

He can become a serious all rounder for us. A shame he hasn't got a chance in PSL yet and also it's a joke that he can't even make a million of our domestic teams.

Karachi Kings have way too many bowling options in their XI.

Sometimes it can spoil your own thinking.

I'm liking Masood's captaincy, rotating the bolwers a lot and not allowing the batters to really settle

These two have been really slow and poor.

They need to hit out or get out.

50s off 40 balls won't be cutting here especially when you're only 1 down.

They're around 25 runs short of where they should be by now

Rizwan should forcefully retire these two but that would be hypocritical of him

Finally Malan gone, painful innings comes to an end.

Slower balls seem to be working well in this match. Hasn't been a proper belter pitch like the other couple of matches.

Again Yasir Khan hasn't played any T20s since the last PSL over a year ago.

Why are they then selecting such players who are inactive in domestic cricket or other young deserving players aren't selected instead.

He played in the NationalT20 (if that counts) this year. And he was one of the top scorers of the tournament.

Khushdil looking good, too bad for Multan that he only came into bat right at the end.

Score should be enough for KK

Who bats for them besides Vince?

seems to be lot of dew around - still think 190-195 par on this deck & there should have been more hitting between 12th to 15th over . c @Rana

Masood struggling against some good bowling by Willey, good contest

Lo jee

Well done for replacing Sharjeel with Shan Masood

Muhammad Ali has more hair on his eyebrows than he has on his head
