By this logic, no team deserves to be no 1.Every team is dud outside thier comfort zone.India is not deserving of #1 Test ranking. They just play a lot of cricket at home.

Share the image of the pitch and this one on day one. It is literally full of grass. Still full of grass. Today we even had rain.
That is the whole point you are denying. Green doesn't mean tough. No it is tough. Many top teams have struggled. You can produce a wicket taking ball or two every over. There won't be any breathing space.
What i am trying to explain to you is there more subtleties to the movement in a ptich than just getting out a paint colour chart.
But what would i know i only worked as a groundsman for NZ cricket.

Indians are bowling on the same pitch, lets see what they can do.
Here comes the "I have played" argument Who are you? Don Bradman?
Wait really. What ground did you work on?
Also why do people make the assumption that the pitches are prepared for the bowlers and not the other way around?
Have you ever considered that these are the standard conditions for the climate in NZ and that bowlers grow up suited to them just like anywhere else in the world.
NZ high performance centre more than a decade ago. When John Wright was running things out there.
Subtleties are the reason why green pitches are tougher. That is where Ireland landed England in trouble in the test. They also troubled Pakistan. Beat them in 2007 world cup in green pitch conditions. Slow medium pacers will become more potent in such conditions.
All these bowlers did well in England to swing the ball.Problem with India is their bowling. They don't have swing bowlers like Zaheer Khan to counter punch. When India was bowled out for 99 in 2002 we bowled them out for 94.

Nice, that's interesting.
How is the future for Indian fast bowling? I thought there was a lot of upcoming talent
Missed chance there. Taylor was going to gobble that edge.
This was always on the cards. We have to wait and watch how the next set of bowlers develop. So far no chance offered at the highest level. Sandeep warrier, Siraj, Saini, Avesh Khan.
India has to get Subhman Gill soon enough. He has made a lot of runs in NZ. But Kohli decided to give chance to his buddy Rohit sharma.
Happy to see my city staging a successful test match again after what happened before the last one.
Can Gill bat in the lower order?
He has to. In a way it will help him nicely settle into the side. No.6 is probably an easier spot to start your career. Sehwag batted at 7 on his debut. Made a 100.
Don't think Gill would have fared much better, he doesn't have enough international exposure
You need international exposure to do well in first test?
Pressure might get to him
Basics are still the same. And none of the current Australians are swing bowlers and they had lot of success in Newzealand. You mean with Duke ball?
Pressure might get to him
Indians think the commentary is biased, but when you are a **** team like India everything sounds biased.

I for one, dont think it is. If YOU don’t hype your HOME team up, who else will? And this is exactly why we play away tours. If everyone supported everyone, there would be no fun.Indians think the commentary is biased, but when you are a **** team like India everything sounds biased.
NZ bowlers are skillful, they need to be appreciated.
And there is Nothing wrong in praising your own players. Indians do that too.The broadcast rights for cricket in NZ is changing hands so i dont blame the commentators for getting as much praise as they can in before being out of the job.

The basic idea behind being a commentator is being neutral, but yeah nowadays there are rarely some commentators who follow it.I for one, dont think it is. Even on a bouncey wicket Wagner is still skiddy and awkward.
But what they said is right. Those were flat roads. And they didn’t say the bowling was bad,did they?I am not sure anyone complained about it. Only thing they complained about was when they said Pujara made 3 centuries in Australia on flat pitches. He was the only one who scored runs from both sides. Bowling quality was high quality.

That is why i don't like Laxman, Bhajji. They act like cheerleaders. It looks cringeworthy. You can describe the characteristic of a player. Not go around talking about them like a fan boy.

Brett Lee and Mitchell Johnson has sub-25 averages in Newzealand and both of them are NOT swing bowlers. So you can’t apply that theory to every one.No not the same. It is a bit harder for certain types of bowlers. Jamison averages 32, 34, 34 in those countries while averaging 23 at home. Look at how England struggled there recently. Broad, Archer

Still no lateral movement like how it is happening here. Which is what commentators are trying to say.Flat roads Lol It had a lot of pace and bounce. On the same flat roads Australia thrashed 3 teams in a row.

I think all they are saying is Pujara hasnt done well in these conditions yet which is different from what he faced in Australia. No lateral movement doesn't mean flat pitch lol Pace and bounce was always there. Look at the amount of times batsmen were hit on their knuckles, body, head from both sides. Pujara copped so many blows on his fingers.

It's good to see Indian test team finally using six batsman (we can debate who should be those 6 but that's for another day) and the results are there to see. You may not like Vihari but if not for him Indians would be 7 down by now. Test matches are won and lost by 4 bowlers so no need to try getting in an extra one but a sixth batsman is a must in SENA conditions.
Mitchell Johnson wasnt express for most part of his career. And there are more seam bowlers who had success in Newzealand like Peter Siddle, Allan Donald, Morne Morkel and even Ishant Sharma. And the swing bowler James Anderson averages over 32.They are out and out express bowlers. They don't really need pitch to help them. They can take pitch out of the equation when there is bounce on the offer.
That is because Keeper dropped his catch.
These things happen but the important part is to make it count.... And again I am not arguing about who these 6 batsman should be (being a Pakistani I am not in a position to debate this point) but rather atleast have a proper batsman at number 6.
