some ball are turning some aren't...5th day would be fun. Pakistan needs to bat as long as they can before tea tomorrow.

If Pakistan bat until lunch tomorrow I think lead would be above 450 which is more then enough needed to declare and let them bat at lunch.

The problem with the old legs.. they want to field for too long.. the decision seemed more out of laziness.

If you had ever played cricket yourself, you'd know why that was the case.

Shehzad was 'expecting' a bouncer and got a yorker, in other words, it was his misjudgment and lack of awareness.

Got stuck on the backfoot and went no where with that shot. Cannot believe you are defending it.

you are targeting only him.

The Run rate is not that bad. They are just playing fine.

YK has been the best player in this series by far and has shown that he can make up these lost deliveries. Azhar hasn't shown his attacking game since that mat-winning century in Sharjah.

RR is not bad due to Shehzad.

Responding to a question with a question is not giving an answer. You're trying to the change the subject again when you know fully well that my question wasn't concerned with praise or criticism of the openers

How would you answer your own question?

Yorkers like that one are pretty much unplayable at the start of the innings. I can't believe that you're bashing Shehzad for not getting his feet movement right after 5 balls.

Truly awful analysis. Go pick up a bat and see how easy your feet move when you've played less than an over.

Bullcrap

Last year sa enforced follow on against pakistan in cape town.
Its a one off, enforcing follow on has declined dramatically to the point that it's non existent, prove me wrong with any starts if you can for the last 10 years and before that.

How would you answer your own question?

Question: What were the openers trying to do?

Example of a correct answer: Trying to attack and score as quickly as possible.

Another example of a correct answer: I have no idea.

Example of an incorrect answer: Trying to look like idiots

And I did say as well that their intent was self-explanatory and I did ask you TWICE whether we are supposed to award points for intent or for execution which you have conveniently ignored.

Since I flunked your question, I'll give you a third chance and if you flunk again, perhaps I might answer that myself?

Should get the lead to 400 by the end of the day. Maybe try to get 80-100 more in half a session tomorrow and then wait for the Aussies to implode.

Australia will do well to loose the series 1-0 from here. Win is obviously rules out. Pakistan will look to score 200'ish and declare methinks. Mitch Marsh was definitely a positive in this game.

I ignored it because I already know our openers are crap.

Then he should be striking at even better sr because he is in really good form but he can't as conditions are not that easy to bat.

Oh no, don't insult me like that. I have higher standards than professor.

Clearly not since you've expressed on more than one occasion, your love for Hafeez.

Almost forgot:

Moeen Ali > Hafeez :)))

All this poor keeping makes me wish we played Hughes instead of the big (no)show

Moeen bhai is a crap batsman and India took his bowling very lightly. Not a Test quality spinner.

I love Hafeez in ODIs/T20s, he's our most important player in that format and vastly underrated.

really good over from Siddle.. suddenly the pitch becomes alive.

this 3m rule need to be checked I mean 3m is a huge huge distance and should be reduced.

Batting with SR's in the 30's? Come on.

If we wanted to bat this slowly them why were the openers told to sacrifice themselves?

HAHAH someone was waving when asked to sit down behind the side screen.

That was plan A. This is the plan B. Tomorrow you will see plan C..:misbah

The openers weren't told to sacrifice themselves. They were supposed to play aggressive cricket and score quick runs but miserably failed.

Which happens even to the greatest of the game.

So whats the point??

Azhar's timidness can be criticized, but he really puts a hefty price on his wicket and has one solid technique against pace.

Whoever thought Hafeez and Shahzad can score quick runs on day 4 wicket were clearly over estimating their abilities.

Well they should have lasted for more than 2 overs collectively.

AS has always had problems with his footwork. He needs to spend some time on the pitch doing tuk tuk before going aggressive.
Hafeez was going for a pull against Mitch that was asking for trouble.

Should have stuck with plan A. Misbah and Shafiq can employ plan B quite capably.

I bet Shezzy is pretty ticked off. He could have tuk tukked and then be praised by some as having great technique.

He needs 80-90 deliveries in ODIs to get going, let alone Test cricket.

3 maidens on the trot from Siddle. C'mon guys what's the point of declaring if we are going to bat slow.

Doing tuk tuk doesn't mean you great technique. Azhar has a good technique regardless of his lack of intent.

Bat the next session, take the lead to atleast 450, and then give the bowlers 5 sessions to bowl them out.

hafeez thinks he's worlds best allrounder but I think harbhajan bats better than this crap cricketer
