Both at fault. Rizwan is not playing gully cricket here where he can just start taking off without even looking at the the other batsman. And Malik should have shouted a big NO if he was not interested. Childish stuff.
 
This is too cute for my liking to be honest. These guys are professional cricketers, someone needs to tell me What in the world is happening out there. Either our entire batting lineup is going through a brain paralysis or someone here is not right

No, the non-striker should be looking at his partner (unless the ball goes behind the wicket) and backing up, there was an easy single there and Malik was standing around ball watching when he could have comfortably jogged to the other end.

Rizwan was a little lazy but that was an easy single that shouldn't require perfect communication.

This is a milestone match for ODI batting - win toss, bat first on a bright sunny afternoon on a decent wicket - lose 5 wickets inside 30 overs - 2 for miscommunication & other 3 caught on line when the RR was well under control.

There is a reason why PAK is hobbling around 8 or 9 in ranking, for a format that needs lots of usage of "upper chamber".
 
I refuse to believe there isn't something sinister happening here. Call me what you want but this is so predictable for someone who has been watching cricket for 30 years.

Why should shehzad replace azhar. Azhar wasnt that bad today mate. Agree about imad hes a must at 7 or 8

Out of the two Azhar's inning was better today. Not much better but better still. However, the thing is Hafeez seemed to be in fine form in the beginning and then suddenly pulled the brakes on his innings. God knows what compelled him to do that.
 
Didn't think it could get worse after last match, but since Azhar's wicket fell, this has to be one of the worst batting displays in recent memory. No pressure of a chase, nothing, but no. We will put up a rubbish display anyway.

That was never a single - Rizwan couldn't return from 6-7 yards (& out by a couple); how come Malik covers 18? It was Malik's call to run as he 'll be going to near end - he stayed stand-still, why should Rizwan move out? It's not that Malik called and backed off. That ball went to mid-wicket's right side - always it 'll be fielded to WK, the end Malik (Non-striker) 'll reach, why he should response to strikers call, who 'll be coasting to the far end?

What is so difficult to understand? You have one batsman in the entire line up who knows how to keep the scoreboard ticking in Sarfraz, the rest bat like children or old men.

Pretty much. We have to go all the way back to Oct 30th 2013, to find a score lower than 250 for a team batting first in Sharjah. It was South Africa against Pakistan and they successfully defended a total of 183 (won by 1 run.)
 
Joke of a batting line-up. I think Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim should play for Pakistan just for this series.

:facepalm: 6 down now. Now only some out of skin performances by our bowlers and lower down batsman can make this match interesting.

We were in a fantastic position until Hafeez just choked the run rate for no reason and revived the England attack. I think the whole game changed there. The run rte went from close to 5 to barely 4.5 and at that stage of the innings it's like handing the game to the opposition.
 
Malik and Anwar must attack! No point batting defensively now! It would be a mini suicide over here!
 
lets play T20 cricket...these people need to understand they are representing their country not mohalla team.

Exactly. After Azhar's dismissal, Hafeez only played 10 scoring shots out of around 35 balls. That is terrible even in the opening overs. In the middle overs? I have no words.
 
Iftikhar is such a rubbish!!! Shehzad should replace him and play as a opener and Babar at 3 or 4.

He may be good at rotating the strike but he becomes impatient mostly and gives away his wicket cheaply! This impatient thing also makes him a bit childish!

Whats the point of defensive play now? Why don't these players understand? No wonder we have collapsed! We couldn't sustain aggression! Rather stepped back to defensive mode of play which cause this collapse!
 
Anwar Ali to prove why it is sometimes good to have an honest hardworking trier in the team

I feel, the wicket is lot slower & there could be a bit spongy bounce - 4 players hold out at line on a 60 metre ground is not common. I think, this match is still lot closer than we think - if Malik can guide the tail to 220, it 'll be tough for ENG to chase against 3 spinners. But, having said that, it shows how dumb PAK batting strategy was today - could have walked past 260, which I think would have been more than enough.

What is the par score of this pitch? Definitely not 280 or even 250.
