I agree in terms of PAK batsman preferring pace. But those PAK batsman are the likes of Shehzad, Akmal, Babar etc. Not YK & Misbah. These two are 40+ and reflexes are gone. They won't do well in England. If Misbah failed when he was 35 in AUS, 37 in SA.. why would he do well when reflexes are worse?

English conditions swing. The ball will definitely move around a lot more. They will both fail miserably.

I have heard somewhere that Amir will not be selected until he has 2 seasons of FC cricket no matter what. Rules him and Asif out.

And now we may have Malik at 3 in England. Do you really think PAK can even take one victory?

I can see atleast two below 100 scores, so those tests are completely gone.

Pakistan is not prepared for playing on green and bounce.

Pakistan is horrible with both bounce and side ways movement. How they like pace?? - flat track with no bounce?? Where you are going to get that??

Need a sarfraz blinder now.. Hes very much capable of producing one. Go on sarfraz. Leave england stunned

Shafiq gone and pretty much almost into tail now for england

Funny stat, King Misbah has won 6 tosses in a row against England in Test matches!

Pakistan is going nowhere with the tuk tuk. Hopefully, Sarfraz looks to be busy here.

Letting the bowlers bowl to them is a very negative tactic.

This will always happen

Tuk tuk and that's you get. Can't see we score 200 unless Misbah and Sarfraz get some runs

Definitely.

He's looked out of touch since the Zimbabwe series for sure. It's unfortunate he missed the Abu Dhabi test, would have been great for him to get his eye in there.

Was rusty in Zimbabwe since he had just returned from Hajj and now I doubt he's had much practice since returning from Pakistan either.

Hafeez threw it away to Moeen bhai..Really unnecessary, that shot.

I 'll wait till June to answer. Last time PAK went with a top 6 of Butt, Farhat, Azhar, Amin, Umar, Malik; then dropped KAkmal for Julkarnine. Led by a joker, who chickened out midway, couple of debutant pacers, one of who was 18 & a finger spinner in one of the wettest English summer - still won 2 out of 1st 5 Test before the ugly scenes, against a much better English & Aussie side.

I don't think batting 'll be a major issue - Jimmy is 34 now, 'll be 35 next July, he was 29 then. Bowling is more concern as PAK pacers have forgotten the use of new ball. You asked me - I 'll tell that biggest concern is fielding - 60% wickets 'll come from edges behind batsmen - if you drop Misbah & YK, PAK slip cordon 'll gift 500 runs in the series, trust me.

Now 200 looks like far cry.

Man this mindless blocking is terrible, that was always on cards.

Pakistan has closed shutters after lunch.

Waqar's latest interview - he said he would prefer Amir to play 2 full domestic seasons before selection.

2 domestic season and get injured for another season. So he needs to play another 2 seasons to be selected.

Sarfraz is always a treat to watch. One of the most confident batsmen in world cricket.

I wonder who came up with this block block tactic. Pakistan is going nowhere with it.

Hafeez has practically thrown it away in most of his innings

Looks like another drawn series for Pak

Sarfraz has played so well against a classy spinner like herath. Why would samit trouble him

Raja is right, Misbah is not template of batting under pressure. Shafi has done couple of times with Misbah, goes to blocking shell and looses his wicket.

Why on earth can't rest of them play like Sarfraz against spinners.

Living on the edge, Sarfraz. But that's how he rolls. #thuglife

Sarfraz played those innings in SRL, on a bit of faster tracks, where ball comes on to bat. Here he is trying to master a dead slow turner with a spongy bounce by forcing shots.

If pacers don't get him early, Cook might get a 9 hours 100 here - he has more patience than entire PAK line up combined.

Yaar Misbah, at least rotate the strike. You are making this pitch look like a mine-field, which it is not...

Yes it is risky, but Sarfraz's defensive game is not good, he should play Naturally

Would hate letting England get away with a drawn series in the U.A.E especially when we are going to get pummeled next year in their backyard.

Match might be decided in next few overs - I am sure Sarf 'll go after Adil. If PAK can reach 170/5 before Cook takes Adil off, it's PAK's match.

Misbah is such a clean striker. Unfortunately he doesnt have enough gears

umm, it actually is a turner from day one. Turns sharp, generates some bounce.

Maybe Pakistan should have bowled first here. Would have been lovely to see Yasir bowl.

250-300 is a match winning first inns total on this surface.

I don't see the whining here of 'playing slow'. IT IS A SLOW track, even slower outfield. Difficult to get your runs.

Ball is turning too much for day 1, sensing something disastrous for england too

Got to say feel sad for Misbah probably batting for second last time in internationals
