I have followed him since his debut and he has always looked ungainly when the ball is talking, that's why I don't think he's a good player of pace. He can't dominate them and is always in survival mode, which I admit he does very well that's why he has 31 hundreds and counting.

Has tremendous nerves.
Do you remember OT 2006 tour? That's the fastest wicket I have seen us play in last two decades where Harmy made us dance and YK was the best and most assured batsman in our team in both innings in a line up that included on fire Moyo and great Inzi.

YK playing like a gully cricketer facing a red ball for the first time.

Riaz bowled a nine over spell at 145 kph and still wanted more. Anderson bowled a nine over spell at 125 kph and is crying. :(

Yes I do, wickets very pretty flat, we didn't get a green top and he got outperformed by MoYo. In fact, MoYo has most of the times outperformed him when they both played together, which settles the debate over who the better batsman was.

Full credit to Younis for his longevity. He has truly filled his boots in the last 5 years on placid UAE tracks. We saw him in SA 2 years ago where he failed barring the slow Cape Town pitch.

YK looks shakey here he needs to dig in or left Hafeez take strike till close of play.

Younis and Hafeez seem to be batting on different surfaces against different bowlers.

Younis needs to shut up shop here. Quit chasing the wide ones, please.

I thought you knew your cricket. That OT wicket wasn't flat. Moyo got a double at Lords flat surface where yk didn't play.

Nobody has hit a boundary besides hafeez. Great innings. Hope he gets a 100 today.

Doesn't matter how much "better" MoYo was, as he was a bottler who consistently choked at crucial moments throughout his entire career.

Younus may be a selfish, whiny drama queen but at least he can be relied upon to perform with the bat when the team needs it.

I don't see the point, Root is great but still young, while Younis is a veteran of 15 years. It's a shame to see him struggle like this against a pacer who is mediocre according to majority of the PPers.

Ur original comment was over the top yaar,
some people also say rahat is useless and root is nailed on ATG

My memory might be failing me, I can't look up the scorecard at the moment, but was it the one where we lost by an innings and Younis got a couple of 40's and 50's? It was hardly a tough wicket, England scored what 500 runs? We just couldn't handle Harmison.

I thought I must have missed a 150 by Younis on a green wicket.

Yes MoYo was a big choker, I wonder if it's a beard thing :amla

Younis chokes in ODIs only, and pretty badly too.

India against India 2005

vs Aus 2004

vs SA 2007

Younus performed better

He has lost his reflexes but that doesnt mean he was always poor. YK was much better than moyo other than Moyo's 2006 golden patch

That's it , it was very much on cards

Younis khan batted like a tail ender and its done and dusted

Marginally better average and Ashwin had a statistically better tour of SL than Yasir.

You can't compare for 4-5 matches. Even if Ashwin has a marginal better average, it doesn't mean anything.

Lot more factors come into play. We can do this on the comparison threads. :D
