Pakistan vs South Africa...Day 3 from Centurion.

To be honest, I would still prefer Hafeez to continue opening because of the fact a) if hes given a consistent run, he is bound to improve and b) at least with him and Farhat we are beggining to see some sort of an opening stand!

In order for us to score a decent total, we MUST have two big partnerships, one of which MUST be 100+ runs.

we must score 350 to make any match out of it.....

Kallis continues

1 - outside offstump and watched all the way into the keeper's gloves by Farhat
2 - Short ball and nicely deflected by Farhat into the huge gap on the leg side for a single.
3 - just outside off stump. Hameed moves forward into a pefect straight defence into the off side
4 - outside offstump. Bounces up nicely and taken by Boucher. Good leave by Hameed
5 - Short ball just outside off, lefted by Hameed
6 - Full ball, driven by Hameed but gets an inside edge to 3rd man for a single

45/1

I completely agree with you, plus Hafees is a decent spinner, he can give some like Shoaib AKhtar a break....
Imran Farhat he is getting ok result,, but he has a high rate of risk game..

Inside edge almst onthe stumps

Such a slow rate!

one player who can play pollock and Kallis well is Hammed....
Farhat soon or later will get out...

high risk yields high results ...

hopefully Farhat can come big today/tomorrow inshallah ..

Pollock and Kallis bolwing muich better than Nel and Ntini did

Pollock's over

1 - short of a length and pushed into the offside by Hameed. No run
2 - Straight ball, Hameed comes forward to flick it through a mid wicket/ mid on position. Mis-times it to mid on, no run
3 - Outside off just short of a length, just left alone
4 - Outside off, a bit fuller but again left alone by Hameed
5 - Effort ball by Pollock. Dug in but just played easily into the offside by Hameed
6 - well outside off just left alone

45/1 maiden over. Rain in the air but the umpires continue

Kallis' 3rd over

1 - great ball just outside off. Farhat drives but the ball shapes in a long way. Huge appeal for an inside edge by all the South Africans but Bucknor says no. Replay shows it hit the leg. Good decision
2 - Full ball, driven to mid off, no run
3 - Short of a length, played into the offside. Farhat looks for the single but goes back
4 - Very short ball. Farhat ducks underneath it
5 - Good ball on offstump. Played well by Farhat into the offside. no run
6 - Outside off. Flashed hard by Farhat getting a very thick edge into the gap between Gully and point in the air but to the boundary

49/1

Plenty of talk from the South Africans, Farhat and Hammed need to keep their cool, because they are known to have brain explosions.

Very huge appeal

Not given

I think that was out

not out, nowhere close to bat .. ball touched his shirt...between bat and pad gap ..

And just as a I say it Farhat drives for 4

Run rate is not the problem ..

we need to BAT 3 more sessions to either WIN or DRAW ... no OTHER HOPES..

Lovely on drive. Effortless, unfussy from Hameed.

Glad to see Farhat not attempt those airy-fairy drives. These two should look to wipe off the deficit as quick as possible otherwise the incoming batsmen will be under much more pressure

Testing bowling from Pollock and Kallis. This is tough Test cricket.

why is the play still going on. light is not good and it is drizzling. do the umpires want another wicket to fall

Hameed gone caught behind. Full ball and edged to the keeper

We are doomed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We negotiate Ntini and Nel but fall at the hands of Kallis!

Hameed gone, trying to on-drive a ball outside off stump. Again good length from Kallis.

Git to say the Pollock and Kallis in tandem have been probing and a wicket always seemed likely to fall.

Its been raining for God knows how long so why isn't light being offered???!!!!

umpires waiting for another wicket. :D
Farhat has been asking for light even before Hafeez's wicket..

this is absurd..watch a wicket fall then they offer it...

Now I get it! The two umpires are West Indian so obviously they are getting their own back on us! :D

Double standards here - India was offered light at the first hint of rain - probably bcoz they were afraid of BCCI

Kallis continuing to bowl full and getting the batsmen to drive

Meanwhile Umpire Darrel Hair has been reappointed for an ICC Tournament!!! Shows how much they care about PCB!

Farhat need to stay cool. He seems to be wiliting under pressure.

Pulled for 4! He did really well to control it. But there was risk there.

Hope no more wicket fall today and we get through 104 runs. Then if we score 250 more runs tomorrow we are likely to win from there. Inshallah

Come on Pakistan meri jaan!

we really need big partnership like prince and gibbs and hopefully some decision in our favor.

Bad running, run out chance missed.

Bad cricket Pakistan.

nearly a runout. Silly running, Imran would have been miles out of his crease.

WTH WAS THAT YOunis had an explosion with that suicidal run. Imran was a mile away from his crease and we are lucky as hell that Gibbs missed...

younis khan lucky not to get lbw. By all accounts he was plumb to Harris

He had taken a huge stride down the wicket, most umpires wouldnt give that.

Day 4 will be tough to bat on. The ball is already staying low. We need Inzi or someone to atleast make 100. Butt is perfect for a situation like this. He would love South Africa!
