What's new

West Indies v Pakistan | 1st Test | Sabina Park, Kingston | Apr 21-25, 2017 | Day 4

Just adding to this.

Misbah-ul-Haq at the age of 42 is 100x fitter than this loser who gains weight after drinking water.

How do you know? The loser hasn't played a Test for 6 years.

Misbah batted fairly well, for which I congratulate him. But with poor weather expected tomorrow, I am surprised that he didn't go for some big shots off the spinners.

Hope Amir and Shah inflict innings defeat.

If we are chasing 150+ on the fifth day you can bet your bottom dollar that we are going to collapse

Also, ask Umar to bat 200+ deliveries in a test match and he will fail 10/10 times.

Bhai, 200+ toh bahut door ki baat hai.

Akmal wouldn't even be able to face 20+ deliveries without having a brain fade. That's how crap he is.

A lot depends on Yasir and Wahab, pitch is flat.

Will also be a good test for Abbas.

Still can't get over the Abbas review.
I am surprised how do the TV umpires keep making visual blunders. You could clearly see ball deviating from its path as it went past the bat. Even the commentators were adamant that it missed the bat and didn't seem to notice the deviation. Strange.

Wahab can be handy here.. Hit the deck .

Seam movement at Wahab's typical length won't cause too much trouble but you're right, we might need that patented Wahab spell where he roughs up the batsmen and creates wickets at the other end.

Yeah, I felt like I had taken crazy pills or something. Clear outside edge.

They are playing Abbas with ease.

He almost had a wicket in his first over and we're reaching for the straight razor already?

Barely...

What do you expect? He can only extract what's possible. It's midday and the sun is out. The pitch is warm, hot air is constantly rising therefore more turbulence above the pitch.

If he was bowling with his previous action, he'd extract a few more inches but nothing extravagant.

Sarfraz telling him to bowl fuller. I agree because the pitch is slow and low here on Day 4.

I hope Hasan is fit for the next match. Abbas is too raw.

Let's all jump on the "Amir is back to being toothless" bandwagon again . .

Exactly. It was an arm delivery and went straight on. No way it would deviate so late naturally. Ok, let's suppose that we all took crazy pills and Chase bowled a doosra; then even the most crooked doosra wouldn't curve away this late. Umpire however did credit Chase for bowling that impossible delivery.

Yeah man, I missed the part where Pakistani domestic structure produces finished products.
What I mean is that minimal improvements can be made.

The only thing possible is that may gain 2-3 km/h if he improves his fitness.

Shouldn't Wahab Riaz be dropped?

Ideally Riaz should be the first name to be struck off from the list, but we do not have any extra pacers in the squad. Either Abbas plays or Riaz plays, that is, if Hasan is fit enough to play.

Pace isn't everything. If he is bowling at good channels and extracting seam/swing movement then he can be a handful even at 130-135kph.

Disagree with that shout for Abbas in CT squad. He's a FC cricket bowler.

The first innings was the first time I've seen him swing the ball, he's more of a seam bowler.

In places like the sub-continent and Australia I personally feel he won't succeed. In these places you need pace or otherwise be deadly accurate, there is little room for error at that pace.

haha nothing.
someone said shabash meri jaan shabash and i found it cute and funny :P
You say these words to someone whom you are very comfortable with. :)

I'm sure the lads are more than comfortable with each other after living, breathing, eating and playing with each other for 9-10 months a year.

Sarf, Azhar and Asad are best of pals. I'm sure Amir, Wahab and Shah are close to them as well. Shehzad is the outsider. Babar is a newbie and YK/Misbah are the respected uncles.

yep and thats good :)

Rameez is actually making some pretty good points with regards to our CT squad and making a mockery out of Wikkie's preferences

Yah totally owned him..and waqar was silent for good 5 minutes. The guy was the coach for two times and still making phattu selections.

I will add Wahab with Sarf, Azhar, Asad. Saw a video somewhere in which Sarfi or Wahab said we 4 are best friends.
And yep I also think Shezi is the outsider. Always see him with coaches or senior most players. Hope he gels too. I saw other players encouraging him a lot on few occasions.
