Pakistan Sri lanka game was just minutes away from start. These uk weather forecasts are exaggerated and nothing else. This Pak Aus match will go ahead.

No it wasn't
It rained heavily in Bristol after the match was abandoned.
It would have never started

Please stop with the delusion. The game is an almost certain washout.

It's not a passing shower. Its whole day rain in Taunton.

It's funny how those not living in the UK are not trusting any of the weather reports and are claiming that we should have a full days play or there relatives living in the UK are telling them it's just a passing shower.

Those living in the UK have all called it correctly as in predicted correctly about the washouts.

The Pakistan v Australian game on Wednesday is an almost certain washout.

The UK is facing floods this whole week.

The Pakistan v India match on Sunday is also looking likely to be washed out unfortunately.

This World Cup has ended before it has started it seems.

Not good and it should never have been held in England.

Has someone seen Azhar training the young bowlers? Because, I have see the video and the bowlers are bowling on their own.

Interesting training session. But, i hope we find the chinaman left arm leg spinner, to practice like australia did with that indian guy from delhi, who was in their dressing room

Also, I don't see any short ball practicing here. It's pretty key for the rest of our tournament. Hope we can have a practice against that too

According to BBC website, weather has improved greatly and there is slim chance of rain now during most of the match. Only the ending hours of the game are supposed to receive rain enough to stop the game

2 washouts is perfect. That almost leaves a QF Vs NZ.
I'm assuming we should beat afg no BD

A must win match for Pak. I would play the same XI.

You can't say that, need to look at conditions and pitch.
They may not have time to prepare the pitch coz of weather.
In that case grass will probably not be shaved off.
That means Shaheen comes into the fray for his swing as does haris, the best player of the moving ball

Shaheen and Hasnain in for Malik and Hasan for me.

Win the toss and bowl first.

Just gave you the secret recipe to beat Australia. This Aussie team bats deep so you really need 5 attacking bowlers.

No I would drop wahab instead of Hasan. Hasan can hit the seam and deck it around.
Also haris is a must in the conditions I foresee

I think the bowlers clicked as a group. Nothing to fix there.

Bringing in Haris in place of Malik means that Hafeez moves down to 5 which would be unfair to last win’s MOM. Also sarfraz is not useful at 6.

I think the team management have ruined Haris’s confidence. He played at 3 in the Australia ODIs, scored some hundreds and then he was dropped!

Haris has to bat in top 4 if he does play. I can bet on the fact that Hafeez will fail next game. This has been a trend in Hafeez’s career. One good game followed by one poor and one average.

Hah! Now its showing low probability of rain on the 12th!

Not sure what's going to happen but I think the more likely issue would be getting the outfield ready, due to the continuous rain from earlier in the week, than the weather on game day.

Why can't they just cover the ground if they knew it was going to rain the days before the match

conditions are heavily overcast for the match. Need to select proper bowlers and quality batsmen over flukes & hit/miss

A slight swing and last match's MOM will be back to pavilion.

Have you seen swing this WC? That too in overs 10 to 40? At number 4 swing will not bother him.

Also prof is in the form of his life and riding his luck.

Looks like weather has cleared up for the match day as per BBC weather.

Nope.

It hasn't cleared up at all.

As of now rain is expected all day from 10am onwards.

Guys please stop clutching at straws.

It's a washout.

It is is rained-out it would kind of even things out for Pakistan in that they end up with two points from the last 2 games, one from a game they were favourites to win (Sri lanka) and one a game they were not (Australia).

I also pointed this out earlier but problem is we need to make up points due to losing WI game we should have won, and that toi badly with very low net run rate and a result.
Matches being rained off for other teams may help Pak cause.

Dry and cloudy through the morning. During the afternoon, further rain will spread from the west, but confidence is low on the details."

ICC World Cup 2019: Amir aims for another Taunton triumph as Australia await

The group fixture at southwest county Somerset’s headquarters sees Amir back at the ground where he made his return to first-class cricket in England three years ago.

Mohammad Amir will hope to enjoy another landmark occasion at Taunton when Pakistan face Australia there in a World Cup match on Wednesday.

The group fixture at southwest county Somerset’s headquarters sees Amir back at the ground where he made his return to first-class cricket in England three years ago.

Amir was the rising star of world cricket when his career came to a stunning halt during a Lord’s Test in 2010 after both he and new-ball partner Mohamed Asif were caught bowling no-balls on the orders of then Pakistan captain Salman Butt as part of a newspaper sting operation.

The trio all received five-year bans from cricket and jail terms.

That same 2010 season had seen Amir produce a superb display of swing bowling in taking three for 20 as Pakistan dismissed Australia for just 88 on the first day of a ‘neutral’ Test at Headingley.

Those skills remained intact as Amir marked his 2016 return to the first-class game in England in 2016 with a haul of three for 36 against Somerset at Taunton.

All three wickets -- including that of former England opener Marcus Trescothick -- owed much to late swing.

The intervening years have not been easy for Amir, however, and he almost missed what is his first World Cup after taking just five wickets in 14 matches before a recent one-day international series in England.

Amir did not bowl in the washed-out first match against England and missed the last four games with chicken pox. England won the series 4-0.

But having been left out of Pakistan’s preliminary squad for the World Cup, the 27-year-old made it into the final 15

His World Cup debut was a rare Pakistan highlight after they slumped to 105 all out against the West Indies, with Amir taking three for 26 in a seven-wicket loss at Trent Bridge.

He was in the wickets again at the Nottingham ground, but this time in a winning cause, with two for 67 as Pakistan surprisingly beat tournament favourites England by 14 runs last week.

But Pakistan’s progress was checked by a total washout against Sri Lanka at Bristol.

All the best, do let us know how the weather is when you get there

Seems like the first innings will happen in entirety while the 2nd innings will be washed out. Hopefully the forecast improves for the 2nd half of the day as well. Will be a very important toss to win.

BBC weather satellite images predicting gloomy but clear period between 10 am to 7 pm - I guess, we’ll have a game tomorrow.

That's good I suppose.

Whenever our team has a good batting day, fans get bullish.

Nowadays, the prediction is Pakistan can lift the trophy in a months' time because we defended 348 as we did in CT' 17.

If we have a WI day, the fans will become bearish and will predict Pakistan crashing out before semis.

Lets hope we get a game tomorrow. The weather has been very frustrating. This Aussie team is beatable, but you just know that after a poor loss to India, they will be keen to put things right against us.

Australia could recall paceman Jason Behrendorff on Wednesday in a bid to halt another opposition batting onslaught as they prepare to face giant-killers Pakistan at a venue that’s been a bowlers' graveyard in recent years.

The reigning 50-over world champions struggled to contain India's world-class top-order on Sunday, with their failure to take early wickets proving costly as Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli and co. scored at close to eight-an-over for the final 40 overs of their innings.

Unless inclement weather juices up the Taunton surface this week, Australia could be in for a similar challenge when they take on Pakistan at the venue in England’s west country that once saw Chris Gayle hit 15 sixes in a county T20 match.

Over the past two English domestic one-day seasons, Taunton has boasted the highest average scoring rate (6.74) of all 11 venues being used for this World Cup, as well as the highest average first-innings score (316).

Last week’s New Zealand-Afghanistan match was the ground’s first ODI since the 1999 World Cup in the United Kingdom.

Coach Justin Langer said the Aussies had considered bringing in Behrendorff for Nathan Coulter-Nile to play India, despite the latter having earnt player-of-the-match honours for his match-winning 92 in their previous match against West Indies.

They ultimately stuck with the incumbent at The Oval and Coulter-Nile responded to conceding 14 runs from his first over to finish with the respectable figures of 1-63 from 10 overs.

But Langer said Australia are not opposed to playing both Behrendorff, a noted wicket-taker with the new ball, and fellow left-arm quick Mitchell Starc in the same XI.

"We just felt with Coults, after his man-of-the-match performance and what he gives us as an all-round package, we went with him," Langer said.

"But I can see that (Behrendorff playing), I can definitely see that. I know that Pakistan play two left armers. It's bit like Bobby Simpson telling me in 1993 you can't have two left-handed openers … that changed over the years.

"You just pick the best guys who are best matched to the game."

Coulter-Nile, who nearly reeled in a diving one-hander at square leg to remove Rohit Sharma in the opening over of the game, impressed Langer amid the flurry of runs.

"I was really impressed with Coults today," he said. "I thought his first over ... that's an area he knows he needs to improve on, whether it's nerves or getting into the rhythm early.

"He was expensive in his first over, but after that I thought he was good. He was up and about in the field. I thought he took some confidence out of his batting in the last game.

"He is a very good all-round cricketer. If he had of taken the catch against Rohit earlier, it would have been a screamer, not many blokes would have got even close. He is a good all-round package and he is playing pretty good cricket at the moment."

Australia are set to face a Pakistan side sky-high on confidence after they pulled off a major upset by smashing 348 to defeat tournament favourites England last week.

Having knocked over the two bottom-ranked teams at the tournament in Afghanistan and West Indies and then losing to heavyweights India, an unpredictable Pakistan side looms as a key test of where Australia stand.

Despite earning the nickname 'Ciderabad' for its propensity to spin in four-day games (and the region’s reputation for producing fermented apple juice), Taunton has in fact had the second lowest percentage of wickets taken by slow bowlers in domestic 50-over games over the past two years.

That could count against Nathan Lyon, who is also pushing for inclusion to partner fellow spinner Adam Zampa.

With Australia in the middle of a four-match stretch in nine days, Langer is also mindful of keeping his fast bowlers fresh, though he's hopeful the likes of Starc and Pat Cummins won't need to be rested.

"In a perfect world, you just have the best team to play every game when you possibly can," said Langer, who identified managing the schedule as his biggest challenge at this World Cup.

"I love this format but it's bloody hard. There's no easy games. We're all over the place. It (travel) is probably as hard as the cricket, honestly."

Yes it seems like we could get a full game in.
Anyone else going to this game tomorrow?

It will be a rainout ... this is turning out to be a terrible World Cup!

ICC is a joke can't even take decisions. They are organizing a high-profile tournament like World Cup which comes once in 4 years and this is their preparation.

Member nations need to take ECB and the ICC management to task which the broadcasters actually will. Bristol and other small grounds in UK should be relegated from organizing any international match if they don't have resources to start a match post-rain or their ground drainage is faulty. The only way left is to shift venue knowing beforehand about the weather or else this whole world cup will be a washout. ICC cash cows the broadcasters and advertisers are the ones really suffering from this. The way this tournament has been pathetically awarded to ECB shows ICC does'nt value fans.

Stoinis out means Australia will play a specialist . . Australia is a stronger side without stoinis in the XI!

Might get a start to the game but looks like another washout. A point against Oz isn't bad but need victories here because of our capitulation against Windies.

Pretty serious blow. You could hear the practicing batsmen speaking the name of stoinis out loud, in the video shared by the member here. They were preparing for on-slaught of stoinis, the weaker link in aussie line up, but guess he will be replaced by a surprised factor, who we haven't faced before.

That's why such videos shouldn't be released. As it giveaway the team plan & the tactics. It was poor decision to let someone film and release it. Pretty depressing now, since Australia would be harder to beat.

I don't recall Marsh doing anything noteworthy against Pak, wheras Stonis has been better against Pak. With both Coulter Nile and Stonis missing Aus will lack useful rounders.

Oh no! With Stoinis out, you know what this means, Behrendorff or Marsh will play a blinder against us. Just hope we can wipe that smug smile off Starc's face and put him in his place like the Indians did.

Met office the most reliable outlet in terms of weather in the UK, say there is a slim chance of rain.

Get in. Should get a game in.

Lol! I hope ICC takes a look at the reports of the side strain of Stoinis.

Marsh isnt much better bower than Stoinis, they can still target Marsh.

Marsh is a good batsmen, can score quickly and with bowl he has the ability to bring back the ball into righthanders. Can be a dangerous player, but must be rusty. Has he even reached UK?

Not sure if he has reached or but I remember that he was dropped for Stoinis because he was struggling with form.

Because it's against the law via ICC and Pakpassion doesn't want to be known as a forum site for which people can resell tickets on the sly. It's aiming to become more professional in the future.
