Malik needs to come good today nd one of these needs to play throughout the innings

As we have seen today it's not the ability to play modern cricket which we lack, it's actually about intent and courage. We need change in mindset, and select young dynamic players and give them full freedom, and good results will follow

Sarfraz falls just after getting his 50
 
good recovery after initial jolt.

Malik and co wouldn't last long on this pitch, if spinners keep bowling from on end on this green mamba then it's the best opportunity to cash in.

Age of 21 is not an issue - the key is, does this guy has the maturity to lead the side, does he make the team as automatic choice, is he someone that can take pressure & lead from the front?

My hunch is, he is better than MoHa & Azhar in every aspect. Only issue is, how a 21 years old Captain going to manage the ego of the worthless seniors. That's PCB's problem, not his. When Aamir was called back, Azhar & MoHa tried some drama - single 121 session with SK took their patriotism out. Make him Captain & the 1st incident of insubordination, kick the senior out.
 
Not a lot of batting left - Malik and Imad (who's not convinced with the bat as of late).

Our tail of Hasan Ali, Yasir, Amir and Wahab are all capable with the bat though. A big improvement over the pathetic tails we've had in the past.
 
Just like Harris seems like Babar seems to have issues after he sets himself in.

Babar will never be a top player if he keeps on getting out on 30s and 40s. Hooefully he is not another Umar Akmal

Malik will come good today. He ia perfect batsman for these situations... he is not #6 batsman...
 
Babar is a little low on luck. Wrong decision in the previous match and slight misfortune here

lets be honest he's only in the team because Pakistan management are incapable to select a good LOI spinner from the pool of talent in Pakistan.

He is in team for his batting btw

We have enough spin bowlers and as it is he hardly bowls and gets smacked around anyway

I don't think he should be classified as anything more than a part time bowler now

One is the Southampton-like batting performance where we labour to a sub-standard total that's easily chased down.

The second is this performance when we lose wickets early on and the innings grinds to a halt.

All we need is for one of our vintage awful attempts at a 250+ chase when we let the RRR get out of control and its the full set of Pakistani ODI Batting Bingo !

Bad time to lose wicket, but we still need to keep going at good rate, no point of just occupying the crease and score jack, in the end its the runs which matter not number of over we face.

Honestly it's just behind us.

In the last 2-3 years we've used majority of the batting resources in the country and it
Doesn't look any better.
 
According to overs, Malik is coming at good time today. He should execute this opportunity properly.
 
Don't have to support England to appreciate the positive transformation of late. Well done to all concerned. And if it wasn't for a freak knock in the last over they'd also be T20 champions.

True, but only actionable, if he is allowed to pick players for that. My hunch is Azhar, MoHa & Malik is not going to retire before 2023 & PCB is not going to drop them before 2019.
