On last tour england was like 320/4 overnight and the next morning gul destroyed them. They were 360 all out.
 
Amir is already bowling such deliveries. We need someone more consistent which Rahat has failed to do. Perhaps IK jr needed altho he was wayward in warmup as well.

Playiing 4 bowlers in england means that wahab is a luxury you cant afford as he only has 1 good spell an innings and that after 40 overs when the opposition have already massed a score.
Either play 5 bowlers if you want to include wahab(4 quicks in uk)
Or play 4 bowlers and replace wahab.
 
Kohli and Root both future greats close to individual landmarks
 
I don't think Wahab will be useful right now cuz I don't see any reverse swing. We should continue with Amir

How many good spells an innings do you usually get from Rahat? I'd say he's better, but still too inconsistent
 
Rahat has been woeful with the ball once again today, just doesnt seem to be able to string 6 decent balls together, no thought put into his bowling, very poor and mediocre bowler.
 
Nice drive for 4 by ballance, to many bad balls been given away still be pakistan
 
Rahat can't pitch two balls at same length region. He has got a gift of swing but without control you can't rely on him
 
Too early to call but I won't be surprised if this match is a draw

Do sides batting 2nd have any advantages on such pitches? Batting will only get harder, and Pakistan will also have to bat last on a flaky pitch.
 
Yasir looks frustrated. Maybe he should be taken out of the attack for a while and cool his head. Come up with a new strategy
 
If this match were taking place in the UAE, I wouldn't dare try to call the result, but I have a feeling England's going to win this one.

Quick and full rubbish from Yasir all day. Give him a break now. New ball due soon so bring on Wahab.
 
Rahat's tendency to bowl short is really frustrating. If you're going to err you're better of doing so fuller outside off. You may actually invite the drive or push him forward and get a wicket
 
I think the pitch is extremely flat with spin here and there but nothing else. Only way to bowl should be with discipline and induce mistakes. I don't think Woakes and Broad will get much out of this pitch, so I think Younis, Shafiq and Misbah will do well here. Azhar might be ok as well if he doesn't get surprised by yorkers.
 
Yet another garbage hit me ball! our bowlers have been shocking today!
 
We are lacking 2 allrounders. One that bowls offies(this is gonna be a bigger let down by hafeez than his batting)
and a pace allrounder (could have selected in the squad one of either amer yamin, amad bhat or hasan ali).
 
Root and Kohli the top 2 batsmen of this generation.

Indian and English fans are lucky to have their services.
 
Would be disappointed if England do not score 450 at least in their 1st innings.
 
I think it's pretty clear from the field setting that Misbah doesn't trust Yasir to be able to contain at the moment
 
Yasir's performance at Lord's was misleading I'm afraid, got too many free wickets.
 
These umpires need to take it easy on the bowlers. A spinner clipping the edge of the box won't do much if at all.
 
Pretty sure root and kohli and Wailliamson keep tabs on each other on who scores how much.
Root will probably go for tea and get news that Kohli scored 200....so he will try to make sure he gets 200 too.
 
Time to press panic button for Pak. Close to 300 on the board, and Bairstow, Woakes, Stokes, Broad still to bat. The time is now to save the test. Not after England pile up 480. Can Pak find some magic?
 
Can someone tell me why cant they just paint a box for the bowlers dangerzone so that the bowler can see where not to step after their delivery.
p.s. thanks beefy, i hope umpirs are just as vigilant when england bowl esp anderson who has had problems in the past with his follow through.
 
England have set a good platform here and the likes of stokes, bairstow and Moeen could just come in and play aggresively and really take this 1st inns away from pakistan
