After pounding England continuously for three days, Steyn & Co will be looking to wrap up an emphatic victory today and go 1-0 up in the three-match series.

They'll be mindful of the famous draw at Cape Town where England avoided defeat after being nine wickets down, preventing a series victory.

With the number one status to be awarded to the series victors, surely not even South Africa can fail today against an England side whose batsmen have lacked the wherewithal to survive under pressure recently.

England will be hopeful two players who will be hungry to impress, Bell after his failures against Pakistan in the UAE and Bopara who has fought his way back into international cricket, will put up some resistance on what remains a flat pitch.

England can save this but .... come on who wants them to? :))

SA are 40 overs away from new ball. And after 20 overs ... let's see where Tahir lands ... his length will be very important.

Prior can bat. England's tail is strong. So, even with pressure and 5th day pitch (still good to bat on). England can really save this but ....... who wants them to? :D

Prior will be the last hurdle - but no easy one. That said, this time around, Steyn & co are well rested. And they can go all guns blazing.

Bopara should be a walking wicket. After that just one real wicket needed and the first hour is the hardest to bat on

SA to wrap it up b4 tea.

wanna bet :butt

Tahir was bowling some serious spitting cobra deliveries or rubbish....no inbetween
lets see what he does on Day 5

Saffers should take away an easy victory here. But they are Saffers so its not done until its done.

Lol i want saffers to win and am from the UK! Ssshhhh dnt tell anyone, i think its because am a big fan of pak that when they are nt plying i support the underdog :)

Still no English supporters? May be they'll start emerging when England shall win something.

BTW, one thing that can save England today is,

Last day. 4th innings. A crumbling pitch. Already 4 wickets down.
Saffers shouldn't draw from here now. The match is almost in their bag.

It's bad news for England supporters. Their only hope, the Rain has decided to stay away, giving way to bright sunshine at the Kia oval.

I was at the Oval yesterday and I can assure you that our spirits were still high (possibly due to the high amounts of beer consumed!)

Bell and Bopara to dig in, we'll have the game safe by tea and then maybe put them in for a tough 30 minute session just before close

Beautiful day today.

England have a habit of clinging on in situations like this, but with the three long-innings men gone (Johann, Chef, Leon) I can't really see it. The Saffers should wrap this up by tea.

A great opportunity for Bopara to shut his critics up.

The series is proceeding according to my prediction......

Time for Bell, Bopara and prior to show the ugly side of the game and show they can save test matches for england using grit!

I think S.A will win this game in the last session of the day.

England missing Collingwood. he was a lot of things and he was a fighter.

As someone above suggested, England may still go ahead and save the match. But most people (barring the English of course) would like to see SA win here.

P.S:- Even the weather gods feel so:p

Hope Bopara scores today.

Has it in him to be a test player, just needs to be given a proper chance express himself.

They were saying on the radio yesterday he must wonder what he's done wrong - in the first innings he came in when Steyn had his tail up and yesterday when England were 67/4 in their final innings.

A bit wayward from SA bowlers today morning. Cannot afford to waste the first hour of play by spraying the ball around.

S.A have been a little erratic here so far today but they are hunting for wickets.

Morkel has been unable to bowl a consistent line. I guess Philander may be given a go.

Steyn is bowling a lovely spell here on a terribly flat pitch.

Bopara gone, sadly hes always found wanting against top quality test sides.

Morkel has been woeful in both inns with ball but manages to take wickets despite all the crap stuff he dishes out as well.

Philander or tahir need to come on here.

The best way is for prior to attack and get some quick runs and put pressure on SA.

What's Asad Rauf's problem with Tahir?

AB had two goes at that! poor effort. Still S.A have time to take these last 5 wickets.

That's the beauty of him though, for all the junk he bowls, he manages to produce a few unplayable deliveries that will get a wicket :D

Jacques rudolph must be bored silly in this game. Didnt get a bat and has fielded alot of the game as well.

I guess he gets his match fee for doing nothing :)

reminds me of a certain Umar Gul

This is where a regular keeper would have been so much useful. #Dropcatch

Bell has gone into his shell.he should atleast rotate the strike.he can't deadbat 70 overs.there will be a ball with his name on it.
already prior is trying to play some strokes

S.A need another wicket before lunch as i think that will definatley knock the stuffing out of england.

Fair point but easy to flip it and say Strauss and Bopara both got out softly to playing attacking shots.

Philander has looked so close to getting Prior out. England will be pleased that these two are hanging in

Bell actually not doing to bad here. Looking more convincing than prior anyway.
